Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 221: Chapter 220: Kaidou’s Spoiled Fun

Originally, Yamato was very happy because over the years, Kaidou had never played with her. But after the game started, she realized it was completely different from what she had imagined.

Whether they could dodge had little to do with themselves. A group of four or five-year-olds had no chance of dodging Kaidou’s attacks. Even a snowball could be a deadly weapon in Kaidou’s hand.

The snowball that broke the small tree earlier was an example. If Kaidou wanted to hit them, they couldn’t avoid it no matter what. However, he did control his strength.

Those snowballs left bruises and pain but definitely didn’t pose a life threat. Just to let them experience the threat of death, he frightened them a couple of times.

Getting hit by the snowballs was to make them understand this wasn’t a joke. They had to exert their strength to the utmost at all times.

A perfectly aimed snowball hit Yamato’s butt, and the snowy weather of Ringo, which made the ground slippery, caused her to slide down due to the impact of the snowball.

The next snowball brushed past her cheek and smashed into the snow.

”Get up, keep dodging. The enemy won’t stop attacking just because you’re down. They’ll only stab you hard in the belly to make sure you’re really dead! The next one won’t miss, Yamato, get up!”

After that, she dodged the second snowball, but her movements were inelegant, practically rolling and crawling to avoid Kaidou’s attack. However, this made Kaidou smile.

”Good, that’s how it should be. You must do whatever it takes on the battlefield. Only an absolute strongman is qualified to talk about the principles of combat, and you’re not there yet!”

While lecturing Yamato, his hands didn’t stop. The first to bow out was Maria. Although White and Kaidou were from the same country, their differences were vast. Maria’s physique wasn’t as strong as Yamato’s.

Then it was Jack’s turn. His Fishman heritage gave him plenty of stamina, with strength ten times that of a normal human. But he wasn’t agile enough; even with Kaidou holding back, he was just a target, and eventually, he was knocked down.

After his companions were down, all of Kaidou’s firepower finally focused on Yamato.

”Ah!!! Father, time’s up! It’s time!” Yamato excitedly shouted as she saw the minute hand on the clock Kaidou had hung on a tree behind them pass the last circle.

”Oh? That’s right.”

Just as Yamato breathed a sigh of relief, Kaidou’s snowball came flying again.

”Father?!”

”The second round has started! This is a battlefield, Yamato. You need to understand that you can’t trust anything the enemy says, and right now, I am your enemy!”

This time, Kaidou began throwing snowballs with both hands, the density of fire notching up a level.

”Help!”

”Shout all you want, but no one can save you this time. Even calling Arceus won’t help.”

This time he aimed for the legs, and after Yamato fell once more, he was waiting for her to get up, but this time she didn’t dodge. Instead, she made a snowball and threw it back. Though it was weak, Kaidou didn’t evade, allowing the snowball to hit him straight in the face.

”Father, you said this is a snowball fight, so I’m fighting back!”

”Ugh hehehe, well done, Yamato, that’s the spirit!”

”Mr. Kaidou, please stop for a moment, there’s trouble at our doorstep.”

Kaidou was about to have another talk about war with Yamato since a snow fight is also combat, but Shaina descended from one side to stop him.

”What’s the matter?” Kaidou was somewhat displeased; he was just getting into it.

”A group of pirates landed from Return Harbor and robbed a new shipment and some payment that Kojiro had just brought in.”

In Wano Kuni, they use gold and silver for transactions. These are universally accepted, unlike the currencies from Sky Island, where the Ike is rarely needed.

It was naturally the Moonlight Pirates who did this, and the guards of the Hundred Beasts stationed there were completely outmatched. Moriah hadn’t crossed Judicial Island or fought the Heavenly Celestial Dragons; his bounty certifies his strength and threat level.

As the only High-Level Official of the Hundred Beasts Pirates stationed in Wano Kuni, this matter was naturally reported to Shaina’s attention.

She was going to check the situation but happened to see Kaidou as the location was close to Return Harbor, so she came to inform Kaidou, suggesting they withdraw first.

However, this also disrupted Kaidou’s mood. Seeing his daughter grow little by little made him quite happy, and he was planning to let Yamato experience the harshness of the world.

”Shaina, keep an eye on Yamato and them. You don’t need to worry about what’s happening over there.”

”Mr. Kaidou, you mean?”

”Mm, I’ll go myself. Do we have personnel nearby?”

”Yes, although there’s no officer, over two hundred elite personnel have gathered, and a few have received blessings from Lord Arceus.”

”That’s enough.” With that, Kaidou walked off toward Return Harbor, but this was liberation for Yamato.

...

”You will regret this! You don’t really know what you’ve done! This is property of the Hundred Beasts Pirates. Lord Kaidou and Lord Arceus won’t let you off!”

At the goods transfer station in Ringo, a pirate collapsed on the ground, the tall man in front of him too strong for them to stand a chance.

”Kaidou? Arceus? Who’s that? Never heard of them.”

”Exactly, Lord Moriah is a man aiming to become the Pirate King. How could a man worth 320 million be afraid of other pirates?”

”Three hundred and twenty million... Another fool from Paradise. You will sooner or later realize how ignorant you are!” If Moriah were a long-established pirate, he wouldn’t be unaware of anything. That bounty level is for a High-Level Official in the Hundred Beasts.

But he hadn’t heard of Moriah’s name, so the only explanation was that he was a newcomer who had just entered the New World. Only such people would dare to talk so lightly.

However, Moriah did not fear his threats. Instead, he swung his blade towards the ground at his feet. The connection between his shadow and his body snapped, and Moriah caught the struggling shadow in his hand, causing the man to faint.

Fortunately, it’s snowing in Ringo now, and the clouds blocked out the sunlight, preventing him from turning to ash.

That is Moriah’s ability, the Paramecia-type: Shadow-Shadow Fruit, a powerful ability to manipulate shadows.

These days, he doesn’t even need scissors. With just a blade, he can sever the connection between shadows, then he puts the shadow into a small bottle hanging inside his coat, which is also a part of his strength.

”Hehehe, where to next?”

”Captain, there’s someone coming! It’s a man with horns on his head...”
