Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 234: Chapter 233: Godfather, Save Me!

Since Omanyte pledged loyalty to repay the favor of saving its life, it has been diligently collecting intelligence from its relatives, the Radio Snails.

Through years of chatting with fellow species, it has developed a small network of relations.

Even when not working, Radio Snails exchange information with each other, like a family gathering, and within this meeting, the term ”Buster Call” is of utmost importance.

Because initiating a Buster Call is closely related to two types of Radio Snails - the Golden Radio Snail and the Silver Radio Snail.

The Golden Radio Snail is the special signal transmitter for initiating a Buster Call, a very precious type among Radio Snails. Ordinary snails often discuss matters related to them.

The Silver Radio Snail only receives signals from the Golden Radio Snail and emits a warning bell, being a very old type, like an elder among Radio Snails.

Whenever topics related to the Buster Call are discussed, these two types of Radio Snails are inevitably mentioned. Although not used for communication, they check if they can operate normally.

For Radio Snails, this signal is like a bright lighthouse in the night.

Thus, Omanyte keenly captured the messages within and successfully eavesdropped on a government department’s Radio Snail.

The previous Buster Call from Bullet was initiated without communication, so it didn’t detect the news.

But this time is different. The World Government repeatedly discussed initiating the Buster Call, which Omanyte managed to discover from a relative.

After all, a Buster Call requires a powerful force of ten warships and five Navy Vice Admirals, so some matters still require caution.

[Ohara.... Buster Call.... destroy everything... must not be exposed....]

The Radio Snails recited the detected information to Queen one after another.

”Now this is big news...”

...

On Ghost Island, Yamato was still battling with different kinds of balls - tennis, volleyball, soccer, and now upgraded to dodgeball, with the difficulty rising steadily.

”Yamato, the game rules have changed now. You need to judge if the ball will hit you and then dodge accordingly. If you dodge a ball that wouldn’t have hit you, you know what happens.”

However, just as Kaidou threw the ball, Queen barged in.

”Kaidou, Lord Arceus, the World Government has made a big move.... ow!”

What greeted him was the rubber ball thrown by Kaidou. The rubber ball smacking him in the face gave him a strangely satisfying sensation.

”Big news? What are they doing now?”

”It’s a Buster Call. They seem to be planning to wipe out West Sea O’Harra Island.”

Queen handed over the intelligence Omanyte had secretly obtained while holding his nose. Kaidou threw the ball with enough force to hurt Yamato; on Queen, it was only slightly painful, and a nosebleed meant nothing to the Plague Disaster.

”Ohara? What kind of place is that?”

Kaidou didn’t know this name. The islands of the Four Seas and the Grand Line were too numerous to count, and he couldn’t remember all of them, even if Ohara was a sanctuary of history; Kaidou just wasn’t interested in history.

”Ohara, the island of history. If you want to understand the information in the Poneglyphs, Ohara is a crucial key. I almost forgot about this business.”

The internal affairs of the Beasts Pirates, Pokemon development, teaching the kids, and searching for Plates - naturally, unimportant matters were pushed aside. However, such matters weren’t forgotten, and some keywords would remind them.

The text of the Poneglyph isn’t widespread. Even for Olga and Asie, it remains ancient script. Only two types of people can translate the Poneglyph: the Kozuki family’s direct descendants and Ohara’s scholars. The Kozuki family isn’t worth mentioning; those stubborn individuals would never translate the Poneglyphs for them, leaving Ohara’s scholars as the only channel.

Usually, those scholars wouldn’t accept an invitation from pirates. Now it was different, as the Buster Call meant government extermination, making these historians the World Government’s major taboo.

To continue studying their cherished history, the Beasts Pirates were their only chance. Either they disappear forever with their documents, or they leave with the Beasts, with no third option.

Very few people can eavesdrop on the World Government’s secrets, and even fewer can rescue people from under the Buster Call’s grasp.

They may not fear death, but their death would mean many things disappearing forever - an unacceptable outcome for those aiming to record history.

”Have they started taking action?”

”Not yet. They’re still planning. It’ll be half a month before they move, and Olga happens to be in the West Sea. Do we need to do anything?”

”Her abilities suit the situation, but she can’t handle this alone. Kaidou, I’ll make a trip to the West Sea.”

Ten warships, five Vice Admirals, something Olga couldn’t confront. While he didn’t plan for a head-on clash with the Buster Call, a contingency plan was needed.

The goal of going there was to rescue people, not to sacrifice their own.

”You going? Shouldn’t I? It’d be quicker to fly there.”

”No need. Crossing the Windless Zone won’t take long, and I don’t want to see news headlines like ’Kaidou Battles Buster Call, Rescues Illegal Scholars’ in future papers.”

If Kaidou went, such news would likely become the headline of the future newspapers.

Also, those people studying history should have much knowledge about ancient ruins; there might be new discoveries. Making this trip was no big deal.

”Then I’ll leave it to you. Meanwhile, I’ll train Yamato more these days.”

Just then, Kaidou noticed Yamato was gone. She was now clinging to Arceus’s leg on the ground.

”Foster Father, take me with you, Foster Father! If you leave me here, you won’t see me again!”

She just poked the ball that hit Queen’s face and found it was a solid rubber ball. Even a hollow volleyball hit felt like losing half her life, and a solid ball...

Besides, with Arceus around, Kaidou’s training would be more restrained - mere devil training; without him, it’d be a murderous purgatory level.

She heard Queen mention half a month; back and forth was a month. She felt she’d surely die at Kaidou’s hands.

The only salvation on the entire Ghost Island was Arceus. Before this last straw left, she needed to seize the final chance.

”Foster Father, you wouldn’t want to never see me again after you return, right? Father’s training intensity would surely kill me, absolutely!”

”What nonsense are you talking? At most, you’d get beaten half to death. Don’t fear, you won’t die.”

”Foster Father, you heard him. I don’t want that; save me!”
