Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 237: Chapter 236: The Planetarium, World Government’s Taboo

The reason for bringing these people here is to transport books. Ohara is a treasure trove of precious documents from all over the world. It’s a pity whether these things are destroyed in the flames of war or sealed off by the World Government.

There might be many useful things inside. Hundreds of years of human accumulation still hold significant meaning.

Although the number of books here is quite large, it’s impossible for a normal person to move so many books. However, those who came here are top pirates from the New World, each with the strength of an ant. Carrying book boxes that are four to five meters high and several times their own weight is not difficult for them.

But looking at the books stacked in the wall grooves, many of them broke out in a cold sweat. It turns out Arceus needed elites for this reason.

”Stop standing there stupidly, get to work!” The books aren’t going to jump into the bags by themselves, so the group of pirates busily started working.

Meanwhile, Yamato, who came along for the fun, was looking at the planetarium in the center.

”Godfather, what is this?”

”This is where we live now. These are planets, and the one in the middle is a star, that’s the sun in the sky, and we are... probably here.”

A power-energized hand rotated the planetarium, roughly pointing to the position of the West Sea.

”Eh! We live on a ball?”

”Yes, a very big ball. You can ask Asie or Queen about the details when you return, or you can also find a scholar to help you out.”

He could answer some basic questions, but if asked further, he wouldn’t know. However, once curiosity is piqued, it won’t easily be quelled.

”Wait, godfather, there are many balls here, so are the other balls filled with The Sea too?”

”I don’t know, but when you grow up, you can see for yourself.” With Divine Beast Level strength, surviving in outer space isn’t hard. These days, who doesn’t have a little flying ability except for Groudon?

This honor has now been returned to Groudon; with his gradually recovering power, flying is no longer an issue. If one can’t fly, having a Groudon will do.

Moreover, this world already has the Starry Sea Pirates; reaching for the stars as the future journey is not out of the question.

”Dismantle this planetarium and take it with you. Take whatever else catches your eye.”

”Understood!”

There are still some things here that look very valuable. Compared to those books, the pirates prefer these tangible things.

As for whether doing so is bad—this place will eventually be destroyed by artillery fire, and not taking them now would be wasteful.

And this planetarium looks very standard. Making another one would probably be cumbersome, so it’s just right to take it back as educational material for Yamato later.

Ordinary people might not know, and such words in Wano Kuni would be dismissed as madness, but these world-famous scholars were well aware that the birth of planets was part of their history.

Satellite instruments, dinosaur fossils, plant specimens, the things stored inside the Tree of Omniscience opened Yamato’s eyes, and to her, it was like a natural history museum.

”Lord Arceus, we’ve found a basement. There seem to be some translations of the Poneglyphs languages inside...”

”Take it all, Elizabeth, you go handle those things.”

”Understood.”

This is like a dictionary. The scholars’ knowledge is important, but you can’t trust it entirely. Better to be cautious.

Yamato continued touring her museum, but the pirates’ busy work was interrupted by an explosion, as cracks appeared on the wall of the Tree of Omniscience above.

”The Buster Call has begun... You all continue, don’t worry about anything else.” An invisible barrier was erected inside the Tree of Omniscience, making it impossible for artillery fire to break through.

”Yamato, go to the window and watch—that’s the Navy’s firepower.”

”Oh!”

...

Outside in the open space, Spandine lamented the tedium of the job.

”Such an easy job, your crimes have been confirmed, collecting and translating the Poneglyphs.” Looking at his subordinates’ report, Spandine completely sentenced the historians to death.

”Why is reading ancient texts a capital offense! Why!”

The eight-year-old Nico Robin questioned, unable to comprehend why reading words meant everyone had to be killed.

”Kid, what do you know? They want to resurrect the Ancient Weapons and kill everyone, understand?”

”Nonsense, no one would do that!”

”Robin, don’t bother explaining to the World Government’s lackey; he won’t understand.” An old man with a combination of hair and beard resembling clover pulled Robin aside.

Doctor Clover, the director of the Tree of Omniscience Library and an authority on archaeology, who led Robin on the path of history.

”Who are you calling a lackey, you bastard!”

”Who else but you? The World Government is never afraid of the so-called Ancient Weapons; I want to speak with the Five Elders. Although we don’t have concrete results, we have our theories about that void century, and I want to ’report our findings’ to them.”

Spandine’s abilities were quite average, but he rose to a high position by being obedient. Until he received an absolute order from the World Government, he wouldn’t do anything out of line.

Reluctantly, he made the call. After the usual formalities, the Five Elders personally announced the death sentence for the scholars of Ohara.

But before the line was disconnected, Clover uttered a word that the World Government loathed—the ”Giant Kingdom.”

”Kill him.”

”Understood.” A bullet pierced Clover’s chest, but Spandine’s aim was so poor that even less than 10 meters away, he failed to hit the heart.

”Spandine, destroy Ohara; they know too much.” The earlier bombings were mere trajectory adjustments. As Spandine pressed the Golden Radio Snail in his hand, a call sounded from the Silver Radio Snails aboard the prepared warships.

”All battleships in position! Prepare to fire! Open fire!”

Intense cannon fire began sweeping over every inch of Ohara, even affecting Spandine with its blasts. At this point, he was no longer concerned about the so-called criminals.

In his view, no one could survive the bombardment of the Buster Call, so he hurriedly fled with a few of his subordinates.

”The tree! The Tree of Omniscience is on fire! Hurry and put out the fire!”

Facing the artillery fire, these scholars didn’t choose to escape but instead rushed toward the Tree of Omniscience to save the documents.

And Nico Robin and Nico Olvia, this mother and daughter reunited after six years, but the reunion seemed desolate under the bombardment.
