Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Since Sixth Uncle has spoken, let’s just abandon the kids.

Money is certainly important, but what’s even more crucial is our lives. If we’re caught, we might spend the rest of our lives in jail.

What’s even more worrying is that they’ve committed countless crimes over the years.

If the police find out everything, it’s no surprise if they get the death penalty.

The white van stopped, and the two kids were thrown onto the road, still inside the burlap sacks.

The cars on the road stopped when they saw struggling sacks left in the middle of the street. Some drivers even walked over to the sacks and untied the ropes.

Looking inside, there were two children, gagged and bound.

”This must be child trafficking!”

”Quick, call the police!”

The sound of police sirens drew nearer and finally stopped.

When they came to the middle of the road and saw these two children, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Yu Ziyang and Bean Sprout were rescued.

As soon as they saw the police officers, both started crying out of excitement.

”I want to go home.”

”I want to see my mom!”

The two kids cried their hearts out.

.......................

In the military compound, Wang Zhong received a call informing him that all four children had been tracked down, and his heart finally settled.

His guard stood beside him with his head lowered, not daring to say a word.

”Both of us are responsible for this incident. Your responsibility is the greatest!” Wang Zhong started reprimanding his guard, ”Luckily, no major disaster happened! Otherwise, if something had happened to these four kids, how would you explain it to the leaders?”

The guard was also anxious: ”I’m sorry, Commissioner Wang! Next time, I’ll make sure to remove the car keys.”

”Make sure to remember that tightly! This kind of thing must never happen again. Later, after dinner, you’ll be punished to run laps on the field.” Wang Zhong remained upset, ”Fifty laps!”

”Yes!”

The guard left. However, news of this incident had already spread throughout the compound.

Wang Zhong thought it was necessary to discuss this matter with Qin Jian.

His Ning Chenyang was simply too daring.

So, he called the headquarters.

Qin Jian had just finished a meeting, and his guard had brought him food from the cafeteria: ”Commander, you should eat a bit! You’ve been so busy lately that you haven’t even had time to eat, you’ve lost a lot of weight. If your wife finds out, she’ll definitely worry, and she’ll surely blame me then.”

”Your wife is a virtuous woman. She would never do such a complaining thing.” Thinking of his wife warmed Qin Jian’s heart.

”Even if your wife doesn’t say anything, she definitely won’t forgive me in her heart!” Xiaozhou said, as he laid out the lunchbox, ”Tonight’s meal is nice, there’s braised ribs, I got you extra pieces. Eat while it’s hot!”

”Alright.” Qin Jian sat down and picked up his chopsticks.

Just as he was about to take his first bite, the phone on the table rang.

”Take the call for me.” It was late, so Qin Jian thought it wasn’t anything urgent and asked Xiaozhou to answer.

Xiaozhou picked up the phone, listened for a moment, then said to Qin Jian, ”Commander, the call is for you.”

”Who is it?”

”Commissioner Wang Zhong. He said he has something to report to you.”

”Okay.” Qin Jian put down his chopsticks, wiped his hands, and went over to answer the phone, ”Commissioner Wang, what’s the matter?”

”It’s like this...” Wang Zhong reported the situation to Qin Jian, telling him all about Ning Chenyang’s actions today.

”That troublesome kid!” Qin Jian was furious, hung up the phone, grabbed his coat, and left, ”Xiaozhou, come home with me.”
