Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Director Ji!” Cheng Yue saw Ji Chuan suddenly leave and couldn’t understand what he meant, so he chased after him to ask, ”Director Ji, why did you leave without saying a word?”

Ji Chuan stopped, his face a bit cold: ”Cheng Yue, you must choose between Yan Huan and Shen Qiqi! If you’ve already chosen Shen Qiqi, then please let go of Yan Huan! Don’t let her hold onto false hope.”

”I haven’t chosen Shen Qiqi... I’ve always wanted to be with Yan Huan in my heart,” Cheng Yue hurriedly explained.

Ji Chuan turned around and patted his chest: ”A person’s heart is only so big. It’s enough to hold one person; it’s impossible if you want to fit two people in.”

”Director Ji!” Cheng Yue’s face darkened, ”My feelings for Yan Huan are love, and for Shen Qiqi are familial and friendship! I don’t want anyone around me to get hurt! You know about my sister Cheng Yu’s situation too, I don’t want to see Shen Qiqi become another Cheng Yu!”

Ji Chuan looked at him silently for a while, then slowly spoke: ”Before, I always considered the feelings between you and Yan Huan. I didn’t want Yan Huan to be caught in between us, so I never did anything. This time, I’ve decided, I will pursue Yan Huan with all my might because you’re not suitable for her. I cannot watch her jump into a complex, endless cycle of painful emotions!”

”I don’t understand what you mean!” Cheng Yue frowned, ”What conflict is there between love and friendship?”

”Don’t understand? Fine. I’ll explain it to you! This is the last time I’ll explain this!” Ji Chuan looked earnestly into Cheng Yue’s eyes and said word by word, ”You want to consider everyone’s feelings; that’s impossible! Maybe your intentions are good, and you don’t want to hurt anyone, but often the result is that you hurt everyone! Your parents, Yan Huan, Shen Qiqi! The relationship between you all has formed a dead end! Now it seems you’ve resolved your parents’ issues, wrong, this is just the surface! Everyone’s unwillingness before marriage will explode in your marriage, it’s just a matter of time! You tell me, if I know this is a dead end, why would I push Yan Huan into it?”

”No...” Cheng Yue tried to find a better reason to refute Ji Chuan, also wanted to find a better reason to comfort himself, but suddenly realized Ji Chuan’s words made sense.

”Cheng Yue, you and Yan Huan can’t be together! There are too many obstacles around you, and these obstacles are all the people you care about, the things you care about. The road ahead for you and Yan Huan is fraught with difficulties!”

After Ji Chuan finished speaking, Cheng Yue suddenly let out an angry roar: ”This is not fair! It’s not that I don’t love her, I do love her, but my family...”

”There’s nothing unfair! There are many people in this world who can’t be together despite loving each other. First, you care too much, and it’s not your fault! Second, you have no way to balance and handle these things! After marriage, Yan Huan is bound to be burdened by these things! So will you! Now that I’ve already seen the result, I must stand up and stop it! Lastly, Shen Qiqi is willing to accept your family and this kind of love. But Yan Huan cannot; she’s not someone who can face these relationships with you! Her body and mind cannot handle these! In conclusion, you and Yan Huan are not suitable! So, from now on, I will take care of Yan Huan! I can give her happiness!”
