Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Ji Chuan poured out everything he wanted to say to Cheng Yue.

This was the last time he would discuss these things with Cheng Yue.

In the future, he would never talk about such matters with Cheng Yue again.

After Ji Chuan left, Cheng Yue was left alone, recalling Ji Chuan’s words, and he closed his eyes with a headache.

Is it really fate?

After receiving a call from Cheng Yue, Shen Qiqi’s parents rushed over from Jiangning.

Cheng Yue’s parents also came along, as this matter started because of Cheng Yue. Therefore, they had to come and see the situation.

When Shen Qiqi woke up, Cheng Yue was in the ward listening to his parents’ teachings, while her parents sat to the side.

”Cheng Yue, think about it yourself. Qiqi grew up with you all these years, where did she not do well? She is wholeheartedly devoted to you; she loves you so much that she’d give up her life! Don’t you think it’s a pity to give up on her?”

”Feelings can be cultivated! You clearly know how good Qiqi is to you, so why don’t you accept her? You’ve known Qiqi since childhood—are your over twenty years of feelings not worth as much as someone you’ve known for just a few years?”

Cheng Nanfang and Qi Siyuan alternated between reprimanding and earnestly advising.

Cheng Yue hung his head in silence.

”Forget it, it’s not Cheng Yue’s fault either! Qiqi is just too stubborn...” How could Shen’s father watch the Commander constantly scold his son?

Love is a matter between two people; a forced relationship cannot be sweet.

Rather than both suffering, it’s better to separate and not see each other again.

”Yes. I’m stubborn,” Shen Qiqi opened her eyes, tears still in them, ”I truly love Cheng Yue! Without him, my life is in darkness! I just love him! If he gets married, I won’t bother him again. I will choose to leave, so everyone can have peace.”

”Qiqi! You’re driving your father to despair! You’re our only child; if you don’t live your life, what are we supposed to do? How can you be such a selfish child?” Shen’s father was both angry and heartbroken.

”Alright, don’t blame the child,” Cheng Nanfang looked at Shen Qiqi, who lay on the hospital bed with tears streaming down her face, and was reminded of the bitterness of his own daughter Cheng Yu’s unrequited love.

She couldn’t attain love, yet was tormented by it unbearably.

Now that Shen Qiqi was in the same state, the more haggard and miserable she appeared, the more Cheng Nanfang’s heart ached for her.

”Commander, tell me how something so originally good turned into this!” Shen’s father sighed deeply, ”Nothing else needs to be said. It’s Qiqi’s fate! I’ll go to the hospital to handle her resignation papers. Shen Qiqi is coming back to Jiangning with me today!”

”Alright!” Cheng Nanfang nodded, giving his son a sidelong glance, and said sternly, ”Qiqi’s emotions are unstable, and this is all because of you. Don’t you have an obligation to accompany us back to Jiangning? Shouldn’t you have the responsibility and duty to resolve this matter properly?”

Cheng Yue nodded silently: ”Okay. I’ll return to Jiangning!”

Out of guilt for Shen Qiqi and to clear the path for him and Yan Huan in the future, he would go back to Jiangning!

The next day, when Yan Huan went to the hospital to find Ji Chuan, she happened to encounter An Hao at the entrance of the consultation room.

”An Hao, did you come to consult with Ji Chuan?” Yan Huan asked with a smile.

”No, I’m waiting specifically for you!” An Hao handed a letter to Yan Huan from his pocket, ”Cheng Yue asked me to pass this to you.”
