Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Whatever you say, that’s how I’ll thank you! But first, please come in.” Ji Chuan made a welcoming gesture.

”No need!” An Hao shook her head, ”I’m not going in. I just have a few words to say to Yan Huan and then I’ll leave.”

”Okay! Go ahead.”

”I need you to do me a favor.” An Hao said, somewhat stressed, ”I have to leave Nancheng for a while, and I need you to look after my little rascal if you have time.”

”No problem! I can look after him, that’s not an issue. But, for how long?” Yan Huan’s leave wasn’t long, and she was worried that An Hao might be away for too long, and she wouldn’t be able to take care of Ning Chenyang.

Besides, her family had just welcomed a new baby, and everyone’s attention was on the child.

It’s not impossible to ask the family to help, but definitely not as attentive as Yan Huan would be.

”It won’t be too long. Just a few days. You can stay at my place for a few days, Qin Jian’s not at home, he’s been super busy with work and doesn’t even have time for his own baby boy!” An Hao explained.

”Alright. You can trust Ning Chenyang with me!”

”Good. If you really can’t manage the kid, just call Qin Jian and let him deal with his son.”

”What? My godson has gotten that mischievous? It’s only been a few days?”

”You’ll see for yourself.” An Hao said helplessly, ”I’m heading to the capital tomorrow for a closed training session, it’ll take about a week!”

”Don’t worry.”

An Hao left, and Ji Chuan invited Yan Huan into the office.

”Shen Qiqi has resigned, and her job will be transferred back to Jiangning! Cheng Yue has now taken a long leave...” Ji Chuan made a cup of tea for Yan Huan and casually informed her of the news.

”I already knew.” Yan Huan took a sip of tea and said softly, ”I already knew! From now on, let’s not discuss the two of them anymore.”

Ji Chuan paused, understood her meaning, and a slight smile appeared on his lips: ”Alright. I won’t mention them again. Now, let’s discuss your condition?”

”Mm.” Yan Huan nodded.

The smile in Ji Chuan’s eyes grew stronger.

...............

An Hao left, dragging her heavy suitcase to the train station.

It was the weekend, and Ning Chenyang had the day off, so Yan Huan took him along to see An Hao off at the train station.

All the way there, An Hao kept reminding Ning Chenyang to behave and not cause any trouble for Yan Huan.

Ning Chenyang agreed wholeheartedly.

At the station, An Hao was surprised to see Ji Chuan there as well.

”Director Ji, what are you doing here?” Ji Chuan had already asked An Hao beforehand and heard that Yan Huan would be there to see her off, so Ji Chuan seized the chance to create an opportunity for himself.

”I’m here to see you off.” Ji Chuan smiled, like a gentle breeze blowing through.

”You’re seeing me off?” Yan Huan glanced sideways at her, ”Are you sure you’re here to see me off? I’ve been on business trips countless times, and I’ve never seen you come to see me off. This time you’re actually here?”

”Is that not okay?” Ji Chuan asked confidently.

”Alright then!” An Hao exposed him on the spot, ”I know you’re here for Yan Huan. Seriously, you both know each other so well, do you really need to make excuses and find opportunities for a contrived meeting like strangers just met?”

Ji Chuan looked at Yan Huan with gentle eyes: ”I really don’t mind, though I’m pretty thick-skinned, I was worried Yan Huan might reject me...”

”Ah, this...”

Before An Hao could finish her sentence, she saw Yan Huan smiling, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks, ”Never again!”
