Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Yan Huan spent the night with Ning Chenyang, and the next morning, he sent Ning Chenyang to kindergarten.

Ji Chuan called her, saying that the crux of the problem had been found.

Jason wanted to invite her over for further understanding.

Yan Huan agreed, she really wanted to understand what’s wrong with her condition.

The sooner the treatment, the sooner the recovery.

Then she wouldn’t have to suffer from this illness anymore.

Ning Chenyang arrived at the kindergarten, only to realize today was Children’s Day.

In past years, Children’s Day meant a day off.

His mom would take him to the mall to buy gifts, to the amusement park for a round, and then to visit grandpa and grandma.

But this year, on Children’s Day, both mom and dad were not around.

Grandpa and grandma were in the nursing home.

So, his careless godmother forgot it was his special day today.

This year in kindergarten, there was an event for the older kids on Children’s Day.

In the morning, the teacher would take the kids to the amusement park to play.

In the afternoon, they would have free activity time, which basically meant a day off.

At 9 a.m., the kindergarten lined up the kids to board the bus to head to the amusement park.

All along the way, the kids chattered excitedly.

”Chenyang, what gift will your mom buy you today?” Bean Sprout stretched his head out from the back seat to ask Chenyang.

”My mom is on a business trip. I don’t have a gift this year!”

”Tch!” Wang Xiaohu, who wasn’t far from Ning Chenyang, sneered and said, ”Even if your mom gives you a gift, it’ll just be a toy gun, another toy gun! Nothing new!”

”Your mom said your gift was thoughtful, what exactly is it?” Ning Chenyang retorted unceremoniously.

Lately, he and Wang Xiaohu hadn’t been shy about fighting, but he was no longer the old Ning Chenyang.

He could single-handedly subdue Wang Xiaohu, pin him down and have him yelling uncle.

Wang Xiaohu could only resort to verbal sparring now, not daring to act rashly.

”Do you have cars? All kinds of cars! Buses, trucks... and even sedans!” Wang Xiaohu shouted.

”What’s that supposed to be?” Before Ning Chenyang could speak, Bean Sprout yelled, ”You’re still playing with toy cars? Our Chenyang... no! It should be our Commander, our Commander can already drive a car.”

”Huh?”

All the kids on the bus looked at Ning Chenyang with admiration.

Each one had their mouths open, both surprised and envious.

”Hahaha!” Wang Xiaohu laughed loudly and said, ”Blow your own trumpet! That exaggeration will have the cows flying in the sky. He can drive a car? Not in a million years would I believe it!”

”If I’m lying, I’m a puppy!” Bean Sprout gritted his teeth and went all out, then turned to look at Chenyang and asked, ”Commander, you can drive, right? Quickly tell him, let’s show off a bit!”

Ning Chenyang rolled his eyes hard, silently cursing: You’re just causing me trouble!

Bean Sprout looked at him pleadingly: Please, Commander, you must say yes! Let’s show them what we’ve got!

The two of them exchanged a silent look.

Ning Chenyang, helpless, could only nod: ”What if I can?”

”Alright!” Wang Xiaohu perked up, excitedly stamping one foot on the seat and standing up, ”Let’s make a bet! If you lose, you call me grandpa. If I lose, I call you grandpa, how about that?”
