Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Let’s leave it to fate.” Ji Chuan looked at the two figures and said calmly.

”Haha! Suddenly, I inexplicably feel happy. Ji Chuan, you really have this day! After we go back, I can tell the girls who liked you about your current predicament, to cheer up those you once broke.” Jason laughed heartily as he spoke.

”Whatever.” Ji Chuan sighed, ”Got a cigarette?”

”I thought you didn’t smoke?” Jason took out a cigarette from his pocket and handed it to Ji Chuan.

”That was in the past.”

Cheng Yue and Yan Huan stood face to face.

”I’ve got good news for you.” A smile gradually appeared on Cheng Yue’s face, ”My parents finally agreed to let me stay in Nancheng! They also said they won’t interfere with our relationship anymore. As long as I’m willing, they agree to let us get married!”

Yan Huan stared at Cheng Yue in astonishment upon hearing this: ”Is this true?”

”Of course it’s true.” Cheng Yue smiled like a child, ”You don’t know how harshly I talked to my parents! They finally agreed! So, what’s with your expression? Are you happy or unhappy?”

Yan Huan felt a mix of emotions, an indescribable feeling.

If only she’d gotten this result four or five years ago, how great would it be?

Unfortunately, it’s now.

”What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy?” Cheng Yue noticed Yan Huan wasn’t as happy as he imagined, ”What’s going on with you? Do you not want to continue with me, or is it that Ji Chuan is already in your heart?”

”I don’t know.” Yan Huan shook her head.

”What do you mean you don’t know?” Cheng Yue was unsatisfied with this answer, ”How can you not know who’s in your heart?”

Yan Huan truly didn’t know.

Her current state was strange; she didn’t want to see Ji Chuan disappointed, nor Cheng Yue upset.

Love and friendship were now in a state of confusion in her heart.

”Huanhuan, have you fallen for... Ji Chuan?” This question kept appearing in Cheng Yue’s mind, and he finally asked, ”Is that it? Please tell me truthfully!”

Looking at Cheng Yue’s hurt eyes, Yan Huan just felt a pain in her chest.

”It’s okay. If you’ve really fallen for Ji Chuan...”

”I’ll tell you.” Yan Huan said resolutely, ”Don’t worry, I won’t string both of you along!”

Cheng Yue’s expression gradually changed; he seemed to transform from being pained and depressed to looking happy again: ”So you don’t have feelings of love for Ji Chuan? That’s great; I’m glad I’m not too late! Huanhuan, although we haven’t been together all that much, we’ve had each other in our hearts over the years! If you’re willing, I want to take you to see my parents! Let’s get married as soon as possible, okay?”

”Marry? Why are you in such a rush?” If it were before, Yan Huan surely would have been very willing.

But now, the situation had changed.

Until she figured out her feelings for Ji Chuan, she couldn’t marry Cheng Yue.

This would be a very hasty decision.

If she no longer loved Cheng Yue, how would they walk the long road of marriage in the future?

This would be irresponsible to herself and to Ji Chuan.

”To prevent any long dreams!” Cheng Yue laughed, ”What? You don’t want to?”

”I need to think about it!”

”Alright. Take your time to think, but not too long! I can’t wait to marry you!” Cheng Yue said excitedly.
