I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 197: Chapter 196: Playing Matchmaker

Mrs. Qin didn’t hide anything, and made decisions based on the situation. At that time, Luo Xudong was ’dead’, and she couldn’t let Beisitian be an old maid for life, could she?

During breakfast, Mrs. Qin spoke with Luo Anguo about the problem of Luo Anping’s name. Luo Anguo’s generation uses the ’Guo’ character, so at that time they used ’An’ for the name. However, in the eyes of outsiders, it looked no different from a father-son naming sequence, which had been laughed at for five or six years.

Now that the eldest has returned, those rumors of premature death are naturally dispelled, and they can’t continue the naming sequence like this. Since the child is still young, it’s better to change it now.

”Change the formal name to Luo Xuping, but keep the nickname Ping’an,” Mrs. Qin asked Luo Anguo for his opinion.

Luo Anguo nodded, ”It should be changed!”

But Luo Anping on the side was unhappy. Now that the big guy is back, he’s not only taken away his sister and parents, but he’s also being forced to change his name. Why should he!

”I won’t change it! I’m staying as Luo Anping!” Luo Anping said defiantly.

In those times, raising children was done roughly, especially boys, who were raised even more wildly. Neither of the couple noticed the change in Luo Anping’s emotions.

Beisitian naturally noticed. From the moment she got up in the morning, she felt something was off with the child. However, regarding the name, she also thought it should be changed.

”Sis thinks Luo Xuping sounds nicer than Luo Anping~” Beisitian picked a piece of cabbage for Luo Anping.

Luo Anping’s eyes lit up, ”Really?”

”Really, I like Luo Xuping more.”

Luo Anping immediately replied to Mrs. Qin, ”Mom, then I’ll change to Luo Xuping. Let’s change it today!”

After speaking, he gave Luo Xudong a glance, as if to say, look, sis likes my new name~

Luo Xudong suddenly felt his hands itch, wanting to teach this kid a lesson~~

”If you want to change it, just change it. You’ll have to go to the police station, right?” Mrs. Qin wasn’t sure; she didn’t know much about these things.

”Don’t worry about it. I’ll go and change it when the time comes.” Luo Anguo said, now that he could walk around, he felt he could handle anything and no longer needed Mrs. Qin to step in every day.

Mrs. Qin also enjoyed having a man around the house, not having to worry about anything anymore.

”Sis, I’m now called Luo Xuping. We’ll have to change it anyway, so calling it in advance doesn’t matter. Can you call me that?” Luo Anping shouted.

”Okay, Luo Xuping~” Beisitian gave him another piece of white tofu.

Luo Xuping grinned widely, happily eating the food Beisitian gave him.

Luo Xudong watched the interaction between the big and the small one, sitting with a cold face, feeling a little stifled inside.

He still couldn’t openly ask her to start calling him brother-in-law. He could tell that Beisitian had only mild feelings toward him, perhaps some good impressions, but it would probably take some time before they could plan a wedding reception.

Thinking about how the marriage application had already been approved, Luo Xudong felt mixed joy and anxiety, wondering how he could persuade Beisitian to register the marriage with him.

Lying wouldn’t work; the girl was too smart. Force wouldn’t work either; he couldn’t bear to and couldn’t succeed, and besides, didn’t you see those big wolves? Coaxing was obviously not an option, because she wasn’t someone who was easily swayed, and it seemed she wasn’t easy to cajole either.

”Dad, Ping’an should start school this year.” Beisitian reminded him, this matter absolutely couldn’t be delayed.

Beisitian had mentioned this matter before. She had visited several local elementary schools, and found their quality to be rather average, so she thought they might as well spend a bit more to send him to the town’s elementary school.

Beisitian valued education highly; some knowledge might not be used in adulthood, but the process of learning is a process of sublimation, and once learned, the perspective and level at which one views the same thing will be different.

”I can contact the town’s elementary school.” Before Beisitian finished speaking, Luo Xudong understood her thoughts and volunteered.

”Alright, let Dongzi handle it then.” Luo Anguo decided.

With the naming and schooling issues for Luo Xuping resolved, the current issue was the house. They would choose a good day to move in, leaving only the final big issue.

Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo exchanged glances. Although Beisitian had been ’married’ to them as a child bride, they had never looked down on her. After Luo Xudong ’died’, they raised her more as a daughter, and not just that, even if she was truly a child bride, all these years, Beisitian had repaid them!

The ’repayment’ wasn’t just money, but also affection.

Why say this? It’s because both of them could see that Beisitian seemed to be conflicted. They had guessed before Luo Xudong returned that Beisitian might want to leave. Now that he had returned, it seemed from her demeanor that she didn’t absolutely intend to stay.

They genuinely hoped that Beisitian would stay, but it depended on their eldest son!

It would be best if they could hold the wedding banquet before Luo Xudong returned to the army, so they could be at ease.

”Dongzi, Little Tian’er, after you finish eating, go to the brigade and explain things to Director Xu, otherwise, it’ll be hard to explain to the police station.” Luo Anguo said.

Mrs. Qin nodded quickly, encouraging more interaction between the two of them, hoping they could keep Beisitian around.

”I’ll go too!” Luo Xuping raised his hand and said.

Mrs. Qin’s face darkened. They were going through all this effort to create opportunities for the two of them to be alone, and this stinky kid wanted to come and cause trouble!

”Practice your calligraphy at home!” Luo Anguo said sternly.

If only Mrs. Qin spoke, Luo Xuping might still dare to ask Beisitian for help, but with Luo Anguo speaking, he could only obediently stay at home and practice calligraphy, feeling a bit wronged.

Beisitian undoubtedly knew their intentions, but even she couldn’t quite figure out her own thoughts at the moment.

If it weren’t for that day when Wu Yuekai joked with her, she might not have felt such obvious pain, and naturally wouldn’t be so conflicted.

She had never felt such heartache before, even when her parents and family abandoned her. The pain back then was different from this.

This was a feeling of constantly fearing the loss of something important.

This feeling had only ever occurred when her master passed away, but even then, it wasn’t this intense. After all, she was in her seventies by then, and her master was over a hundred.

It was because of this pain that she wanted to confirm it again to avoid future regret. She didn’t like to regret things after they happened.

It was exactly for this reason that Beisitian didn’t resist interacting with Luo Xudong. Originally, she also liked chatting with him.

Now, as Luo Xudong walked through the village, he indeed had a one hundred percent return rate. A person who had been ’dead’ for six years had come back, and not just returned, but returned triumphantly. Who wouldn’t be curious?

”That Luo Er’s son really is handsome! No wonder so many young women liked him back then!” a wife at the entrance chatted about them while cracking sunflower seeds.

”Luo Er’s son and Little... Little Tian’er really look like a good match together.” Another wife nearly blurted out ’little widow’.

Now she wasn’t a little widow anymore; the man not only returned but did so with great success.

The young wife who was speaking couldn’t help but feel a bit sour.
