I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 177: Chapter 176: Come Stay at Our Place

The news that Luo Er’s family was going to build a house spread through Zhang Qiao Niang’s big mouth, and many people knew about it. Luo’s house, Mrs. Qin, wore a long face all day, thinking of how she always looked down on Luo Er’s family, who surprisingly had the money to build a house!

”Mom, you say Luo Er’s family has money, but they don’t even think of you, they just build their house first.” Mrs. Qin said sourly.

Old Mrs. Luo glanced at her without speaking.

”Mom, Luo Er really doesn’t take you seriously. Such a big event as building a house, and they didn’t bother to tell us!” Mrs. Qin felt uneasy, ever since she found out, it weighed on her heavily.

Bai Jinfeng was in the outer room cooking with a child on her back, listening and shaking her head quietly.

”Mom, you’re going to say nothing? If the people in the village find out, won’t they laugh at you!” Mrs. Qin acted as if she was standing up for her mother-in-law.

”They’ll surely laugh at me. Eldest son’s wife, if you’re so concerned, go ask Little Tian’er, ask her why she doesn’t regard me. It could be seen as filial piety.” Old Mrs. Luo stretched her neck looking at Mrs. Qin.

Mrs. Qin immediately gave a wry smile, ”Why should I say anything, mom, you should say it yourself. If I go, they won’t take it seriously.”

Old Mrs. Luo pulled a long face; she’d been incited by this shameless thing often enough. That Beisitian could call so many wolves; what is she planning by sending her!

”You talk too much nonsense, why don’t you quickly go make dinner, can’t you see Jinfeng with the child on her back!” Old Mrs. Luo looked at Mrs. Qin with cold little eyes, barking.

The smile on Mrs. Qin’s face froze, then slowly faded, and she puckered her lips as she went to the outer room to cook.

”Troublemaker! Malicious thing!” Old Mrs. Luo didn’t forget to curse at the outer room, making Mrs. Qin’s face turn green with anger.

Besides Mrs. Qin not being happy, Zhang Lianqiao from Tyrant Zhang’s family also felt uneasy.

Before Luo Xudong joined the army, she had her eyes on him. If it weren’t for the rumors of Luo Xudong’s desertion later, even if Luo Anguo and Mrs. Qin had engaged him to Beisitian, she wouldn’t have given up.

So Beisitian always remained a sore spot in her heart, even later grateful she didn’t end up with Luo Xudong, she still disliked Beisitian, and this dislike deepened over the past year’s interactions. Now she wished Beisitian would die, the worse the better!

Upon hearing Luo Er’s family was going to build a house, Zhang Lianqiao felt so uncomfortable that she hadn’t slept well for two nights, her gums swollen from the irritation. This pain made her temper flare, arguing several times with her second sister-in-law, until a glare from her second brother made her restrain herself quite a bit.

When it comes to Beisitian, Zhang Lianqiao was out of ideas.

These days, Beisitian thought about temporarily moving to the forest house in the east during this period. This matter still required Director Xu’s approval since the house and land belonged to the brigade.

Just as she was thinking about this, Liu Chunyu and her mother, Zhang Yuzhi, came.

When she was young, Zhang Yuzhi had taken good care of Beisitian. That time Beisitian rescued her from King Yama, she appreciated Beisitian besides being pleased with her.

”Sister Qin, you guys are going to build a house, where will you live then?” Zhang Yuzhi asked, and she came specifically for this matter today.

Their family had many people, if it was just the couple staying in the woodshed it wouldn’t matter, especially since someone had to keep watch at night when laying the foundation, but it was inconvenient to have Beisitian there.

”We plan to live in the forest house.” Mrs. Qin poured some water for the two, ”But we haven’t talked to Director Xu yet.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Yuzhi smiled, holding Mrs. Qin’s hand, and said, ”I came for this reason. We have an empty house in our backyard. It belongs to our big brother’s family. They all live in town and don’t come back for a year or middle, we often help to clean it up. If you’re willing, you can stay there.”

”This... is this really appropriate?” Mrs. Qin hesitated.

”What’s inappropriate? Even when my family comes, they stay there. It’s no problem, and before I came, I called the brigade, and they said you can stay as you please!” Zhang Yuzhi laughed.

”Auntie, this is too much trouble for you.” Beisitian said, not wanting to bother others.

”It’s not troubling at all!” Zhang Yuzhi was a bit eager, ”Little Tian’er, last time you saved auntie, and I’ve always wanted to repay you, but you’re so capable that there’s nothing we can really do for you. Now that I finally have a chance to offer a little help, please accept it for auntie’s sake!”

Zhang Yuzhi had always remembered this matter, knowing Beisitian was capable beyond repayable, she felt uneasy. As soon as she heard, she thought of this right away, hurriedly went to the brigade to call, and confirmed there was no problem, so she brought along Chunyu and came over.

”Little Tian’er, come live there, we’re close and can keep each other company!” Liu Chunyu shook Beisitian’s arm.

Beisitian and Mrs. Qin exchanged a look, then listened to Zhang Yuzhi saying, ”Moreover, someone has to watch over the house being built, and the forest is so far, it’s not convenient to come and go.”

Mrs. Qin looked at Beisitian, and Luo Anguo said nothing. After thinking it over, Beisitian agreed.

Zhang Yuzhi was delighted; being able to assist Beisitian set her heart at ease.

Zhang Yuzhi said that everything was available there, with a vacant courtyard where household items could be moved. After discussing an approximate date, the mother and daughter left.

Beisitian planned that all these old things, unless they held special meaning to Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo, would be replaced with new ones.

After Mrs. Qin checked the calendar, she chose an auspicious day for moving house. On that day, Carpenter Liu’s family came to help, although Liu Chunshu didn’t come; it was said he went to town again to see if he could find some work.

Whenever this was mentioned, Zhang Yuzhi and Carpenter Liu would sigh; their eldest son, big and strong, just couldn’t settle down. Always daydreaming, when would it ever end!

Luo Er’s family didn’t have much, as they had sold most valuables earlier to treat a leg and Beisitian’s injury. Mrs. Qin had no opinion on throwing the rest, except for two large cabinets in the east room, gifts from Luo Anguo for their marriage.

The two large cabinets looked old, but there was nothing wrong with them, and Carpenter Liu used his donkey cart to move them over.

When the younger brother moved house, Luo Aiguo and Luo Xuqiang also came to help. With everyone’s cooperation, it took less than a day to finish.

Carpenter Liu’s entire family helped, even six-year-old Liu Chuncai joined in moving things. In the evening, Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo planned to prepare a meal to thank them.

”Ping’an, your sister is really amazing!” Liu Chuncai swallowed and stared at the ingredients on the stove, drooling despite the food not being cooked yet!

Luo Anping was full of pride, ”This is nothing, my sister’s cooking is not only delicious, but eating it is also good for the body!”

”Can I come to your house to eat often in the future?” Liu Chuncai looked at him eagerly.

Luo Anping thought for a moment, ”I’ll ask my sister for you~”
