I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 155: Chapter 154: Encountering Beisisi Again

”Mr. Zhou, do you know what kind of clothes people in their fifties like?”

Luo Xudong was taken aback by Beisitian’s question, with a trace of doubt in his eyes.

”My mother asked me to buy some ready-made spring clothes, and I don’t know what to buy, so I had to ask Mr. Zhou.” Beisitian said.

Upon hearing this, Luo Xudong’s expression softened, ”Miss Bei is truly filial.”

The price of ready-made clothes is relatively higher, but there are more styles and materials.

Although it was obvious that it was Beisitian’s idea, the fact that the family was willing to buy them showed that they didn’t lack money.

Thinking of this, Luo Xudong felt slightly at ease. Compared to a few months ago, the family’s situation must have improved a lot, and without a doubt, this was due to Beisitian.

”I happen to be free, so I can accompany you for a walk.” Luo Xudong said with a smile.

As Ma Jian Country was about to step in with one leg, he silently retracted it upon hearing this, looking at the materials in his hand and swallowing the words he was about to say.

After all, it wasn’t important information, but the teacher’s ”hobbies” were more important!

Although Beisitian seemed to be getting prettier, she was, after all, a rural woman. He thought Mr. Zhou’s tastes were peculiar. There were so many beautiful women in Beijing and Shanghai, and even some bold and spicy ones abroad, yet he never seemed interested. Truly, to each their own.

In fact, in Ma Jian Country’s mind, even for fun, choosing Beisitian felt like lowering one’s status. Maybe it was because he had seen many ”meaty” ones, that he chose something ”plain.”

In any case, Ma Jian Country dared not disturb Mr. Zhou’s interest.

After retracting his foot, Ma Jian Country saw Mr. Zhou give him a knowing glance. He chuckled sheepishly, watching Mr. Zhou walk away with the lady.

Beisitian pretended not to see their exchange of glances. Since Luo Xudong was willing to accompany her, she didn’t mind. After all, she truly intended to buy clothes.

Though she had been away for several years, no one probably understood her parents’ clothing preferences and habits better than Luo Xudong.

About two streets away, there were several imported clothing stores, with many clothes sourced from outside, such as popular leather jackets and bell-bottom pants, and they weren’t expensive.

However, Luo Xudong didn’t take her to those stores but went to a few old-brand ready-made clothing shops.

There, it was mainly blue long shirts, which seemed quite bleak compared to the imported clothing stores on the other side of the street.

”Those clothes look nice, but their sources are often not clean—you don’t know where they’re from. Some are imported through regular channels from Hong Kong and Taiwan, while others have unsavory sources overseas.” Luo Xudong explained.

Beisitian didn’t know what he meant by ”unclean” until he explained. She then shuddered.

It turns out that the so-called imported clothing did indeed flow in from overseas, but some were taken off the bodies of the deceased.

”Not all sources are unclean, but if you can’t tell, it’s best not to buy such cheap clothes.” Luo Xudong said as he walked.

Beisitian nodded. One of the reasons she enjoyed chatting with Luo Xudong was his vast knowledge, having likely traveled all over the world in recent years.

Such a Luo Xudong seemed to shine with a certain brilliance.

”Mr. Zhou really knows a lot.” Beisitian sincerely praised.

Luo Xudong gave a gentle smile, ”The more places you go, the more you see.”

To buy clothes here, you had to take measurements. Since Mrs. Qin and others were not present, it was impossible to take them.

Luo Xudong intended just to show her the way, but to his surprise, Beisitian reported the lengths of her family’s clothes—with only shirts involved, waist measurements weren’t necessary.

This was something Beisitian had remembered once when Mrs. Qin was altering clothes.

Luo Xudong gave a knowing smile. She was truly a careful and meticulous person.

Luo Xudong noticed that Beisitian wasn’t too pleased with the ordinary blue shirts and said, ”People in their fifties, who have long lived in the village, are greatly influenced by their surroundings. Suddenly wearing some other styles might not be easy for them to accept.”

Thinking about it, Beisitian realized this made sense. With their peers all wearing blue shirts and long pants, buying a leather jacket wouldn’t be something they’d likely wear.

The imported clothing stores in Qingzhou Town were much cheaper than in the city. After hearing what Luo Xudong said, Beisitian dared not buy freely.

In the end, Beisitian bought two sets of long shirts and pants each for Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo. As for shoes, Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo always wore handmade ones, and found it uncomfortable to wear store-bought ones.

She also bought two sets of new clothes for Luo Anping and was ready to return.

Seeing this, Luo Xudong held her back, ”What about yours?”

Beisitian laughed, ”This one I’m wearing will do, I bought it just last autumn.”

These nondescript clothes aren’t worth buying more of, and she wasn’t interested in fashion.

Luo Xudong could tell Beisitian didn’t like these clothes and had a plan in mind, so he released his grip.

”I knew you couldn’t bear to be lonely, see? You’ve even hooked up with a man!”

A childish voice with a hint of sharpness rang out.

Turning her eyes, Beisitian saw that it was Beisisi.

Upon hearing this voice, Luo Xudong frowned slightly, glancing coldly at Beisisi. He had long known Du Chunmei and her daughter were in Qingzhou Town and had been there for some time.

Beisisi shivered under Luo Xudong’s gaze. She hadn’t initially recognized him, but now she couldn’t help but look over.

”Who are you? Why do I find you familiar?” Beisitian, although slightly intimidated by Luo Xudong’s gaze, refused to back down, holding her chest high.

Bemused by her assertiveness, Beisitian stepped forward with a sneer, ”Flirting with a man as soon as you meet, is this what your mother taught you?”

With Beisitian’s retort, Beisisi indeed stopped looking at Luo Xudong, sneering at her, ”Young widow, why are you so nervous? Is he really your lover?”

Upon hearing these words, Luo Xudong glanced at Beisitian. He could see she was indeed a bit tense earlier; otherwise, why was she so aggressive?

Did she really have feelings for Zhou Jiren?

Luo Xudong’s gaze returned to Beisisi’s face, asking indifferently, ”Who is Zhang Sanshan to you?”

Upon hearing the name ”Zhang Sanshan,” Beisisi was visibly startled, then wore an expression of pride, ”You know Sanshan too? Everyone in Qingzhou Town knows him, he’s my boyfriend!”

Boyfriend?

This time, it was Luo Xudong who was stunned. Beisisi was only about thirteen or fourteen years old today, while Zhang Sanshan was already twenty-eight and married. How could he be Beisisi’s boyfriend?
