I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 167: Chapter 166: Unbuttoning

Upon hearing the content broadcasted on the loudspeaker, Beisitian was taken aback. A call? For her?

”Little Tian’er, who called?” Mrs. Qin lifted the curtain and asked.

Beisitian shook her head, ”I’ll go check.”

Aside from Kao Village, all she knew were those in Qingzhou Town. Among the few people there, who would call her?

Yang Wulang hadn’t gotten an answer and went out with Beisitian.

On the way, Beisitian told Yang Wulang that Director Xu would cover the cost.

Yang Wulang was stunned, ”The village chief never said anything about paying!”

Beisitian smiled slightly, ”He definitely will. If the epidemic in Kao Village spreads, his role as the village officer would come to an end. If it gets treated, he might even become an example. He doesn’t need us to tell him that, he understands himself.”

With the answer, Yang Wulang no longer followed. Watching Beisitian’s slender and upright figure, he couldn’t help but sigh. This girl had thought it through long ago.

He just didn’t know if Xu Youcai would follow Beisitian’s plan.

As Beisitian walked, she pondered who could be calling her. When she reached the commune, she looked at the bright red telephone receiver and picked it up.

This was the first time she received a call.

”Hello, is this Miss Bei?”

A woman’s voice came from the other end, sounding somewhat familiar.

”Yes, you are...”

”It’s Ma Xiaoling!”

Beisitian was taken aback. She never expected Ma Xiaoling to call her.

”Is there something you need from me?”

”Miss Bei, Mr. Zhou has a fever. Assistant Ma went to Beijing. The health clinic is already full, there’s no place even in the hallway. I don’t know what to do. I can only contact you.” Ma Xiaoling’s voice was anxious, mixed with some grievance. She truly didn’t know what to do.

Beisitian’s heart sank immediately, ”I’ll come over right away. Make sure to ventilate the room and start with physical cooling first.”

Ma Xiaoling agreed from the other side.

Beisitian rushed home, instructed Mrs. Qin to hand the small jar she left to Yang Wulang, grabbed some yellow paper, and hurried out.

Mrs. Qin saw her rushing and felt worried. Now wasn’t the right time to ask, so her heart followed with a heavy feeling.

The bus ran twice a day, once in the morning and once around one in the afternoon. If she waited for the bus, it would take more than three hours. Beisitian found a passing donkey cart, paid some money, and went to Qingzhou Town.

When Beisitian arrived at Jishi Pharmacy, Ma Xiaoling was waiting in the front hall, and seeing her was like seeing a savior.

”Mr. Zhou has been in a deep sleep and I got two people to carry him to bed, and put a cold towel on him.” Ma Xiaoling said, following behind Beisitian.

Beisitian kept walking towards the back, saying as she went, ”I’ll go take a look.”

”I’ll stay here. The front hall can’t be unattended. Shout for me if you need anything.” Ma Xiaoling stopped and said to Beisitian’s back.

Beisitian waved her hand without looking back.

This was the first time Beisitian came to ’Zhou Jiren’s’ bedroom. The style was very simple and elegant. If you only looked at this room, you couldn’t tell he was a big boss, which probably had to do with him temporarily staying here.

But from this, it was evident that Luo Xudong didn’t care much about these things.

Luo Xudong was lying on the bed, covered with a quilt presumably by Ma Xiaoling, with a white cold towel on his head.

Beisitian stepped forward for a closer look and found he did not have viral pneumonia. This fever seemed to be caused by an external injury.

Beisitian gently frowned. If it was due to an external injury, it was likely recent!

She looked at the comatose Luo Xudong, hesitated slightly, then reached for his clothes.

’Intimacy’ was already there, so what’s checking for injuries?

Beisitian originally wasn’t a finicky person. In her past life, she hadn’t shied away from treating men, and naturally couldn’t avoid seeing bodies. But perhaps she was somewhat resentful about that ’intimacy’, making her feel a bit uneasy.

Beisitian held her breath and started unbuttoning Luo Xudong’s shirt, button by button. As she reached the second-to-last button, a pair of large hands suddenly grabbed her hands!

Beisitian was already nervous, and this startled her, looking up to see Luo Xudong’s piercing gaze, sending a chill straight to her heart.

”It’s... it’s me.” Beisitian spoke up.

After recognizing Beisitian, Luo Xudong’s hands released her, and his eyes lost their previous intensity, with his whole demeanor seeming to relax.

”Why are you here?” Luo Xudong’s voice was genuinely hoarse this time.

”Ma Xiaoling called me and said you had fainted.” Beisitian explained truthfully, glancing at the last button, she didn’t move.

”What are you doing?” Luo Xudong knew his shirt had been unbuttoned and looked at Beisitian with a playful smile.

Beisitian replied sarcastically, ”I’m a doctor, of course I’m here to treat you.”

”Does treating require undressing?” Luo Xudong continued teasing.

”Who said I was going to completely undress you!” Beisitian’s mouth twitched.

”I’m a conservative person. Will you take responsibility after seeing?” Luo Xudong asked earnestly.

”I’m a doctor, I’m just treating you!” Beisitian felt a vein pop on her forehead.

”If you won’t take responsibility, I can’t let you see.”

”!!!”

Beisitian looked at the arrogant and unreasonable Luo Xudong, her face dark as the bottom of a pot. Can someone tell her who exactly this rascal was!

”Mr. Zhou!” Beisitian called sternly.

Luo Xudong ignored her, reaching to button his shirt, ”Young ladies should be reserved, don’t casually take off men’s clothes.”

”...”

”Mr. Zhou, there are still eight patients in the village waiting for me to treat them. If you won’t cooperate, I’ll have to be impolite.” Beisitian finished speaking, and with a gentle slide of her thumb under Luo Xudong’s nose, rendered him unconscious.

”A patient should cooperate like this.” Beisitian snorted coldly and swiftly undid all his shirt buttons.

With his shirt opened, one could see his solid chest and distinct abdominal muscles. His physique was indeed excellent, but right now Beisitian wasn’t in the mood to admire such a perfect body. She looked at the scars and bullet marks in a daze.

Luo Xudong’s body was covered with traces of intense battles, which were somewhat shocking to behold.

However, these marks were all old injuries, most having faded into shallow imprints.

If the injuries weren’t in the front, they must be on the back.

Beisitian forcefully flipped Luo Xudong over, and upon seeing his back, she was taken aback!

Luo Xudong’s back was full of wounds. Some had festered, and others had ulcerated beyond recognition. It was unclear what had caused them.

With things already like this, it was no wonder he had a high fever. If not properly treated, it could surely cost him his life!
