Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 142 You can sell it if you want! If you don’t want to sell it, forget it!Chapter 142 You can sell it if you want! If you don’t want to sell it, forget it!
After Mr. Zhang returned to the 077 Machinery Military Factory, he once again started negotiations with the United States regarding the LM2500 gas turbine technology and production line.

However, the negotiations did not go smoothly.

The other party was extremely firm in their attitude, stating that if Yan Country wanted to obtain the LM2500 gas turbine technology and production line, it must use the special basalt steel formula in exchange.

If the Yan Country Navy only wants to purchase LM2500 gas turbines, it can be considered.

But technology and production lines can only be exchanged.

Faced with such an answer, Mr. Zhang couldn’t help but feel furious.

When the Yan Country Navy representative asked about the price of purchasing a set of LM2500 gas turbines, the American General Electric Company unceremoniously quoted a shockingly high price - 5 million US dollars.

This number made all the members of the Yan State Navy delegation present open their eyes wide, and they couldn’t believe their ears.

According to the power configuration of an Aegis missile destroyer, it would cost a full 2500 million US dollars just to purchase the LM gas turbine.

This is only the cost of the power configuration and does not include the expenses of other equipment of the Aegis missile destroyer.

The Eagle Sauce is treating the Yan Country Navy as a sucker and a ”fish” to be slaughtered.

Such a high price was beyond the reach of the Yan Kingdom Navy.

In the past, the Yan Kingdom Navy purchased four sets of LM2500 gas turbines for only US$1.4 million.

This is still the raised price.

Now, General Electric, an American company, has made a huge demand, asking for 5 million US dollars per group.

Who gave you the courage to be so hawkish?
Could it be Fish Leong?
The Yan State Navy representatives turned around and left without hesitation, with firm steps and no signs of hesitation or looking back.

Their figures quickly disappeared at the door of the negotiation meeting room, leaving behind silence.

This……

The price of the LM2500 gas turbine is simply too high, so high that it is unacceptable.

The Yan Country Naval Delegation knew that the Eagle Sauce would not ”lower its noble head”, so they resolutely chose to leave.

Continuing the negotiations will only waste time and energy, and may even put yourself in a passive situation.

However, the top executives of General Electric are confident about the negotiations.

They firmly believed that the Yan State military would come back ”licking their faces” within three days, continue to negotiate with them, and eventually accept the high price they offered.

But what they did not expect was that things did not develop in the direction they expected, and Yan Country did not continue to ”lick their faces” and continue negotiations with them.

The Yan Country naval delegation has boarded the plane and left Yingjiang, and their destination is actually John Country.

This sudden change caught General Electric’s top executives off guard.

They had never expected that the Yan Country Navy would act so decisively, leave Eagle Sauce, and stop negotiating with them.

……

In the field of warship manufacturing, John’s country is indeed unique.

Although the once glorious British Empire has gradually declined, a lean camel is still bigger than a horse.

As the first country in the world to develop ship-borne gas turbines, John’s country has profound technical accumulation and experience.

As early as forty years ago, John Guo had successfully developed an advanced equipment called the G1 gas turbine.

This gas turbine became famous for its high efficiency and reliable performance, becoming one of the most advanced ship power systems in the world at that time.

Thanks to this major technological breakthrough, John’s country has gained a huge advantage in the field of warship manufacturing and has also established an excellent reputation worldwide.

It is worth mentioning that this G1 gas turbine did not come out of thin air, but was the result of modification and optimization based on the Safire F.2 turbojet engine. Through in-depth research and innovative improvements on the original technology, John Guo successfully created this groundbreaking gas turbine.

As time went by, John Guo continued to innovate in the field of gas turbine technology and developed several models including G2, RM60, G4 and G6.

These new gas turbine models not only inherit the advantages of G1, but also have further improvements in performance, reliability and adaptability.

In 1968, the Navy of John’s country made an important decision: all newly built large and medium-sized surface ships will fully adopt gas turbines as the main power source.

This decision fully reflects John’s confidence in and emphasis on gas turbine technology, and also marks that the country’s leading position in this field has been further consolidated.

In the field of gas turbines, John’s strength cannot be underestimated.

Although it may not be as good as the United States in some aspects, John Country is quite competitive in terms of gas turbine technology level and practical application.

Of course, it is not an easy task for the Yan Navy to obtain gas turbine technology and production lines from John.

John Guo: I only care about money, not people!

After one and a half months of negotiations, the Yan Navy introduced the second-tier gas turbine technology and production line from the John Country.

The price has also been raised to 1.2 million US dollars!

Compared with the LM5 gas turbine that costs 2500 million US dollars per set in the United States, 1.2 million US dollars can buy second-tier gas turbine technology and production lines.

That’s quite a bargain.

Anyway, John’s country’s gas turbine technology has been developed from generation to generation.

The Yan State Navy did not believe that they had used gas turbine technology and could not develop this technology further.

Of course, half of the 1.2 million US dollars was paid by the 077 Machinery Military Factory.

There’s nothing we can do about it, the navy is so poor.

6 million US dollars is already the limit of Yanguo Navy. (It is really poor!)
Lin Chenran felt that it was a worthwhile deal to spend 1.2 million US dollars to introduce relatively advanced gas turbine technology and production lines.

With the technology, the Yan Country Navy can also produce a batch of gas turbines and sell them to other countries.

Compared with gas turbines in other countries, the technology is backward.

But the gas turbines produced in Yan Country are cheap!

They all choose cheap gas turbines to buy, so will they be ”selective”?
……

Time flies by like a white horse passing by.

Three months passed in a flash.

Mr. Wei, the head of the Yan State Army’s equipment department, Mr. Zhang, the head of the Yan State’s naval equipment department, and senior military officials of the Yan State gathered at the 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

Representatives from the Saudi country in the Camel area were also invited by Lin Chenran to come to the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

That’s right, the 077 Machinery Military Factory has made a major breakthrough in the Chinook heavy helicopter project that imitates the Eagle Sauce.

The first replica Chinook heavy helicopter is about to begin flight tests.

In this case, Lin Chenran will definitely invite the top military officials of Yan State and the ”big money sponsor” behind the 077 Mechanical Military Factory - the Saudi State in the Camel Region to participate in the test flight of the replica Chinook heavy helicopter.

In less than half a year, the 077 Mechanical Military Factory directly copied the first Chinook heavy helicopter.

The speed shocked everyone.
