Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 114 The Loveliest Old ManChapter 114 The Loveliest Old Man
Lin Chenran stood in front of the door of his own complex building. Today he was going to meet Mr. Zhang, the head of the equipment department of the Yan Kingdom Navy.

Not long after, the military convoy slowly drove in front of the complex building. As soon as the car stopped, several military leaders of Yan State got out of the car. They were dressed in neat military uniforms and looked serious and solemn.

”Mr. Zhang, welcome to the 077 Mechanical Arsenal to inspect and guide our work.” Lin Chenran recognized the old man at a glance and walked forward to greet him with a smile.

When he saw Mr. Zhang, a familiar picture immediately emerged in his mind.

Mr. Zhang stood on tiptoe and stared at the American aircraft carrier in the distance, his eyes full of envy and desire.

Zhang Lao once said with emotion: ”If our Yan country can also build such an aircraft carrier, we will be willing to die!”

When Mr. Zhang saw Lin Chenran, a bright smile appeared on his face and he strode forward to greet him.

”Lin boy, your name is well-known in the military.” Old Zhang said enthusiastically.

Lin Chenran smiled a little embarrassedly and nervously wiped the sweat from his forehead.

”Uh...” He hesitated for a moment, then continued, ”Not worth mentioning, really not worth mentioning.”

In fact, Lin Chenran knew very well that his reputation in the military circles of Yan Country had already been ”smelly”! He was good at making money, very good at making money, and was a unique existence in the third-tier military factory.

However, Zhang Lao shook his head and said to Lin Chenran with a smile: ”How can it be insignificant? Everyone calls you the military’s God of Wealth!”

”No, it’s just a little bit, but the army takes all the money.”

Lin Chenran certainly did not admit that his own 077 Mechanical Military Factory was very profitable, so he directly used the tactic of ”diverting trouble to others” and pulled the Yan State Army out to ”take the lead”.

Mr. Zhang burst into laughter. “Old Wei told me before that you are a little sly guy and a little fox. I didn’t believe it then, but now I do.”

Lin Chenran on the side smiled awkwardly, and beads of sweat on his forehead unconsciously flowed down.

So embarrassing!

Lin Chenran tried to explain: ”Mr. Zhang, please don’t listen to rumors. I...”

There is no way. I don’t know how to defend myself.

Suddenly a burst of laughter resounded throughout the complex.

After a round of lighthearted jokes, the atmosphere among everyone became harmonious, and the original awkwardness and tension dissipated.

Afterwards, Lin Chenran warmly invited Mr. Zhang to walk into the complex building of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory and come to the spacious and bright conference room.

As soon as everyone sat down, Mr. Zhang could no longer suppress his curiosity and anticipation, and eagerly asked Lin Chenran about the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher in the hands of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

In response to Mr. Zhang’s questions, Lin Chenran remained patient and focused, answering them in detail one by one.

”Lin boy, I want to know whether the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher can really board a warship?” This is undoubtedly one of the issues that Mr. Zhang is most concerned about.

Because once it is confirmed that the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher can be equipped on warships, the Yan State military will begin to redesign a new missile destroyer to replace those old warships that are already outdated and can even be traced back to thirty or forty years ago.

These old warships are unable to maintain the security of the country’s maritime borders and face many challenges.

Therefore, taking advantage of the opportunity of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory’s successful development of the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher, the Yan State military hopes to take this opportunity to redesign an advanced missile destroyer and inject new vitality into the country’s coastal defense forces.

The country already has the corresponding technical support and there is no need to introduce related technologies from abroad.

The most critical factor here is the huge financial support that the 077 Mechanical Military Factory continues to provide to the Yan State military.

This funding enabled the Yan State military to gradually accumulate a certain amount of strength and confidence.

Lin Chenran responded confidently: ”Mr. Zhang, don’t worry. The Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher was indeed originally designed for land combat, but with a little improvement, it can be fully adapted to the shipborne environment.” Hearing Lin Chenran’s firm reply, the Yan State naval officers present were all overjoyed, with excited smiles on their faces.

This moment means a lot to them!

The Yan State Navy has not added any new surface ships for a long time.

Now, thanks to the strong support of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, they finally have the opportunity to upgrade.

This is undoubtedly exciting news!

”Mr. Zhang, with the rapid development of our country, our navy will become increasingly powerful, and warships will be launched into service as quickly as dumplings.”

”In the future we will definitely have our own aircraft carrier!”

Lin Chenran said with great ambition.

Time will tell!
“I believe things will get better in the future, but I may not see this grand occasion.”

Old Zhang looked at Lin Chenran, his eyes filled with a mixture of expectation and regret.

He believed what Lin Chenran said about the grand occasion, but he also knew that it would take time to accumulate, and he himself might not be able to witness the arrival of that day.

”No, Mr. Zhang, you will definitely see the day when the country becomes strong.” Lin Chenran said firmly.

He had already set his sights on a target - the ”Varyag” aircraft carrier in the hands of the Russian bear.

This aircraft carrier was originally built by the Soviet Union in 1985 (this year). Before it was officially joined the Soviet Navy, the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and began to ”split up”. The ”Varyag” aircraft carrier was thus shelved.

By then, Lin Chenran will be able to purchase the Varyag aircraft carrier at a ”bargain price”, and then make various improvements to it so that it can roam the seas.

……

Lin Chenran then introduced his own Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher to a group of senior naval officials and took them to the test site to watch it up close.

A group of senior naval officials of Yan State were very satisfied with the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher. This was the weapon and equipment they had always dreamed of.

After watching it, Mr. Zhang was also quite satisfied with the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher.

Then, in front of Lin Chenran and everyone else, he made a decision to use the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher designed and developed by the 077 Mechanical Arsenal on Yan Country’s new missile destroyers.

……

A month passed quickly. After Lin Chenran had explained all matters concerning the 077 Mechanical Military Factory, he took a group of people and left Yan Country by plane, heading for Sha Country in the Camel Region.

This time, he was invited by Abdul to attend the test experiment observation meeting of the Apocalypse Tank.

As soon as Lin Chenran got off the plane, he was taken away by the staff arranged by Abdul and taken to a luxurious manor.

When Lin Chenran arrived at the manor, he met his big money sponsor, Abdul, who was waiting for him at the gate.

”Lin, welcome to the Kingdom of Sand!!!”

Abdul stepped forward enthusiastically and shook hands with Lin Chenran.

”Thank you for the invitation, Abdul!”
