Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 139: The Navy wants to get something for free?Chapter 139: The Navy wants to get something for free?

”Mr. Zhang, this kind of thing depends on human efforts.” Lin Chenran said with a firm look.

He continued: ”It would be best if we could import the LM2500 gas turbine technology from the United States. At worst, we can at least import gas turbines from other countries.”

In the field of science and technology, it is often necessary to be flexible in responding to various possibilities.

We should not put all our hopes on a single source of technology, but instead actively seek multiple ways to solve the problem.

As the saying goes, ”You can’t hang yourself on a tree.”

There is also an important secret that Lin Chenran did not tell Mr. Zhang.

In fact, the 077 Mechanical Military Factory has already begun independent research and development of engine technology.

Although the progress is relatively slow, this is also one of the important directions for their future development.

Lin Chenran secretly calculated in his heart that if they could successfully introduce the Eagle Sauce’s LM2500 gas turbine as a blueprint, then they would be able to conduct in-depth research and improvements on this basis and ultimately achieve localization.

……

Elder Zhang then sighed and said, ”Lin, you also know the current situation of our navy...”

Before Mr. Zhang could finish his words, Lin Chenran interrupted him impatiently: ”Mr. Zhang, you don’t mean to say that our navy is not going to spend a penny, right?”

”Want to get whore for free?”

”We imported the GTZA-674 steam turbine technology and production line from Russia at a cost of more than 1.8 million US dollars, and your navy can’t afford to pay a cent?”

Lin Chenran was so angry that he started laughing.

You should at least contribute a part. It would be too much to let the 077 Mechanical Military Factory produce all of it.

In the past, the navy paid the most and then purchased technology to give to other military factories. Then, after the research and development results were obtained, the military took the majority of the profit.

When it came to the 077 Mechanical Military Factory’s turn, the military simply let it take on all the responsibilities on its own, wanting to get it for free.

Lin Chenran frowned and said slowly: ”Mr. Zhang, I understand the difficulties of the Navy, but you also need to understand the difficulties of our 077 Mechanical Arsenal. We can’t directly use the ’nuclear power’ skill to produce US dollars.”

”We spent 674 million U.S. dollars to buy the GTZA-1.8 steam turbine technology and related production lines from Russia, not 1.8 million U.S. dollars. Our 077 Machinery Military Factory also needs to slow down.”

Lin Chenran directly stated the difficulties of his own 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

Anyway, Lin Chenran now has only one attitude: whether to introduce the LM2500 gas turbine is the business of your Yan Country Navy, and you must take the lead.

However, considering the long-term interests, Lin Chenran still wants the Yan Kingdom Navy to introduce gas turbine technology.

The introduction of gas turbine technology can greatly enhance the performance and combat effectiveness of warships.

It plays an important role in the security of the entire maritime border.

Lin Chenran’s words immediately silenced Mr. Zhang on the other end of the phone.

After a moment, Zhang sighed deeply. He had made up his mind and said firmly, ”Okay, our navy will try its best to squeeze out some funds to support this project.”

Hearing this, Lin Chenran showed a satisfied smile on his face.

He knew that this was the best effort Mr. Zhang could make.

It is also the greatest effort made by the Yan State Navy.

There is no way, the Yan Kingdom’s navy is extremely poor now.

Apart from the necessary strategic materials, there is not even a decent modern warship.

If it weren’t for the 077 Mechanical Military Factory ”transfusing blood” to the Yan State military behind the scenes, the navy might not have been able to request the design, development and manufacture of missile destroyers.

……

Lin Chenran continued: ”Gas turbine technology is vital to our country. Even if it is not applied to warships, it still has a wide range of uses in other fields.”

Gas turbines have unique advantages in power generation and oil development, which can improve energy utilization efficiency and reduce costs.

No matter what, you won’t lose. Time flies, passing by like a fleeting moment.

A month and a half passed in the blink of an eye.

Lin Chenran and others came to the 704 Shipyard again.

The purpose of their visit this time was to see with their own eyes the design drawings of the Aegis missile destroyer independently designed and developed by the 704 Shipyard.

Lin Chenran personally welcomed the arrival of the senior naval officials of Yan State in front of the comprehensive building of the 704 Shipyard.

When the senior naval officials of Yan State arrived, Lin Chenran greeted them warmly and shook hands with them one by one.

He then led the group into the conference room of the 704 Shipyard and asked the chief designer of the Aegis missile destroyer, Pan Xueming, to come on stage to give everyone a detailed introduction to the missile destroyer.

Pan Xueming is indeed a master in the field of warship design.

You’ll know whether it exists or not just by taking a shot!

He cleverly incorporated the creative ideas proposed by Lin Chenran into the design of the Aegis missile destroyer, making the entire plan more feasible and innovative.

In the next hour and a half, Pan Xueming introduced in detail the technical details and performance advantages of this Aegis missile destroyer.

The participants listened carefully to every detail, and finally, everyone agreed that this Aegis missile destroyer had excellent combat capability and adaptability, and could meet the needs of the Yan State Navy.

For the Yan State Navy, they are very eager to own such a powerful warship.

They can’t wait to see this Aegis missile destroyer equipped to the troops as soon as possible, and to demonstrate its powerful strength at sea to protect the country’s maritime security.

Not long after, the Yan State Navy officially announced that the Aegis missile destroyer of the 704 Shipyard won the design of the new missile destroyer.

This news immediately caused an uproar in the domestic shipbuilding industry.

Many shipyard executives were surprised.

They didn’t expect that the 704 Shipyard, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, would win the design seminar for the new missile destroyer.

Some shipyard leaders felt that there must be something fishy going on and went to the navy to find out what was going on.

When they saw the design schematics of the Aegis missile destroyer and several advanced parameters, they were shocked.

The missile destroyers designed by our own shipyard are far superior to those of the other side.

One in heaven and one on earth!
There is absolutely no comparison.

The 704 Shipyard relied on its strength to obtain the order for new missile destroyers from the Yan Country Navy.

Rather than the Yan Kingdom Navy specifically giving the order to the 704 Shipyard.

……

Linjiang Province 077 Machinery Military Factory

The head of the Navy’s equipment department, Mr. Zhang, came to the 077 Mechanical Arsenal. He came this time to discuss important matters with Lin Chenran.

When Lin Chenran saw Mr. Zhang coming, his heart tightened.

An ominous premonition came to mind.

But he still greeted her enthusiastically.

”Welcome Mr. Zhang and all the leaders to come to the 077 Mechanical Arsenal to guide our work.”

Lin Chenran directly arranged for a group of senior naval officials to come to the conference room.

After a while of chatting, Mr. Zhang told the purpose of this trip.

Lin Chenran and the top executives of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory were instantly surprised when they heard this.

”What? Eagle sauce needs to want...”
