Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 137: It can be sold, but the price must be raisedChapter 137: It can be sold, but the price must be raised
Kovlevich walked into Leo Gago’s office with steady steps.

He gently pushed the door open, then quietly walked to the desk, stood still and reported to Leo Gago: ”General Leo, I am here to report an important situation to you.”

After hearing this, Leo Gago was surprised, his eyes widened, and an expression of disbelief appeared on his face.

He could never have imagined that Lin Chenran would actually set his sights on the GTZA-956 steam turbine of his own 674 missile destroyer.

The 965 missile destroyer is a powerful and invincible missile destroyer.

It not only has powerful anti-ship and air defense capabilities, but also has amazing speed and maneuverability.

Such a warship is undoubtedly the overlord of the sea, and no one can compete with it.

Of course, Leo Gago and other senior naval officials were not very satisfied with their own 956 missile destroyer.

That’s right, what they were dissatisfied with was the GTZA-956 steam turbine on the 674 missile destroyer.

Although this steam turbine was able to provide a steady supply of powerful power, it also brought some problems.

For example, tedious preliminary preparations are required at startup, which takes a long time;

In addition, maintenance is relatively difficult and requires a lot of manpower and material resources.

But what Leo Gago did not expect was that someone actually showed interest in this GTZA-674 steam turbine, and this person was his long-term partner - Lin Chenran.

This was really beyond Leo Gago’s expectations and even made him feel a little strange.

According to common sense, everyone would choose the more advanced and convenient gas turbine rather than this backward steam turbine.

”Kovlevich, why do you think Lin Chenran came here to introduce the GTZA-674 steam turbine to their Yan Country?”

Leo Gago was also puzzled.

”General Leo, the performance of our GTZA-674 steam turbine is excellent. Although the preliminary preparations are extremely cumbersome, it is undeniable that it is definitely an excellent power output device for warships.” Kovlevich began to analyze in detail.

From this perspective, it is reasonable to speculate why Lin Chenran came to purchase the GTZA-674 steam turbine and related technologies and production lines.

Although Leo Gago and other senior Soviet naval officials were not optimistic about the GTZA-674 steam turbine, they even disdained it.

But in the eyes of the Yan people, this steam turbine is an extremely valuable power output device for warships.

The GTZA-674 steam turbine technology is capable of being sold to Yan Country.

Gas turbines cannot.

Because countries with gas turbine technology usually only provide finished gas turbines to Yan Country, but will not share core technology and production lines.

”General Leo, do you think we should sell the GTZA-674 steam turbine to Lin Chenran?” Kovlevich asked cautiously, with a hint of tentativeness and expectation in his tone.

Kovlevich waited quietly for Leo Gago to give orders. Although his eyes were focused and firm, his heart was full of contradictions and struggles.

According to Kovlevich’s idea, he hoped to sell the GTZA-674 steam turbine to Lin Chenran and get a considerable reward from it.

Leo Gago, who was standing by, was lost in thought, his brows slightly furrowed, his eyes staring deeply into the distance. After a moment of thought, he slowly said, ”It can be sold.”

“But the price has to go up.”

”This GTZA-674 steam turbine is an outdated product in the country.”

”For the benefit of the country, the selling price cannot be low.”

”If conditions permit, we also need to sell a few sets of GTZA-674 steam turbine finished products to Lin Chenran to increase the overall price.”

It’s a rare opportunity to ”beat” Lin Chenran, so Leo Gago will definitely not show mercy.

He felt that Lin Chenran would definitely agree for the sake of the GTZA-674 steam turbine technology and the production line.

”This……”

Kovlevich was shocked by Leo Gago’s greed.

Kovlevich couldn’t help but sigh. He thought he was greedy enough, but he didn’t expect Leo Gago to be even greedier than him.

He thought to himself: ”It’s you after all! Leo Gago!”

After thinking for a while, Kovlevich quickly responded: ”Okay, General Leo, I will do my best to make this happen.”

Although Lin Chenran made huge profits through the international arbitrage business between Yan Country and the Russian Bear.

However, if the price of the GTZA-674 steam turbine is too high, Lin Chenran will find it difficult to afford such a high cost.

Kovlevich needs to find a balance.

It can not only make Lin Chenran feel that the price of the GTZA-674 steam turbine is not very expensive, but also allow him and the ”big backers” behind him to make a lot of money.

Kovlevich directly set the price of two sets of GTZA-674 steam turbines, as well as related technologies and production lines at US$3 million.

”What? 3 million dollars?”

”Kovlevich, did you say it wrong, or did I hear it wrong?”

Lin Chenran was shocked when he heard Kovlevich’s quotation for the GTZA-674 steam turbine!
The price is too expensive!
This is obviously an attempt to ”cut” something from Lin Chenran.

”Lin, I had to persuade General Leo and the top management behind him to agree to sell you the technology and production line related to the GTZA-674 steam turbine.”

Kovlevich pretended to be very embarrassed.

”No, Kovlevich, the price of the GTZA-674 steam turbine is too expensive. I simply can’t afford such a huge amount of money.”

”Also, if it’s the advanced gas turbine you have, I’d be willing to buy it for 3 million US dollars, even if it costs me everything I have. But the GTZA-674 steam turbine is not worth that price.”

Lin Chenran directly refused to spend 3 million US dollars to purchase the technology of the GTZA-674 steam turbine and the related production lines.

”No, no, no, Lin, the price of 3 million US dollars can purchase the GTZA-674 steam turbine technology and production line, which is very favorable.”

Kovlevich still insisted on 3 million US dollars.

But Lin Chenran obviously disagreed and directly stated his desired price: ”I can only offer 1.2 million US dollars at most, and I have to borrow part of it.”

”$1.2 billion?”

”No, no, no, the price is too low.”

When Kovlevich heard the price of $1.2 million, he thought it was too cheap.

Even though the GTZA-674 steam turbine is considered a relatively backward technology in the hands of the Russian Bear.

However, it is impossible to spend 1.2 million US dollars to purchase the entire set of GTZA-674 steam turbine technology and production lines.

”$2.9 billion!”

”$1.3 billion!”

Lin Chenran and Kovlevich argued endlessly like vendors in a vegetable market.

This is a negotiation involving billions of US dollars.

As long as Kovlevich can negotiate a high price, he will not only gain a reward, but also allow the top leaders of the Russian Navy to see his strength.

Lin Chenran must be thinking that the lower the price, the better, so that he can solve a big problem with a small price.

……

After ”friendly” negotiations between the two.

The price was finally set at...
