Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 119 Lin Chenran: It doesn’t matter whether I’m here or not!!!Chapter 119 Lin Chenran: It’s the same whether I’m there or not!!!
Elder Wei looked at the ridiculously young fellow in front of him and smiled with satisfaction: ”Haha, Lin, you are really getting better and better! You are sensible and considerate of the overall situation. It is a blessing for our Yan country to have talents like you!”

Lin Chenran smiled bitterly helplessly: ”Mr. Wei, please stop praising me. How can I deserve such a high evaluation from you? Besides, you always cut me until I am covered in blood...”

Hearing this, Mr. Wei couldn’t help but burst into laughter, and his hearty laughter echoed throughout the office.

Seeing this, Lin Chenran quickly struck while the iron was hot and explained to Elder Wei: ”Elder Wei, these orders for Apocalypse tanks have been negotiated, and just like before, only a small portion can be given to your military.”

”Because we need to invest most of the funds in purchasing production lines to increase production capacity.”

”As you know, the production speed of our 077 Machinery Military Factory is currently limited. We can only give priority to supplying the military and the Saudi Arabian country in the Camel region. As for orders from other countries, it may take two years to deliver. Therefore, we must continue to increase production capacity.”

Mr. Wei was well aware of the interests involved, but he still asked with concern: ”After the production line is upgraded, will there still be orders for Apocalypse tanks?”

There is no way, the price of the Apocalypse Tank is there.

One tank is very expensive. Although it is slightly cheaper than the M1 tank of the United States, it is much more expensive than the T72 tank of the Russian Bear.

It is really not something that ordinary countries can purchase.

The price of the Apocalypse Tank is there.

There is also a configuration reason.

Lin Chenran smiled slightly: ”One Apocalypse tank can support our 077 Mechanical Military Factory for several years, which is already good!”

Lin Chenran is very open-minded about this!

Then, Elder Wei continued, ”There is also the matter of our Pakistani brothers. They are also obsessed with seeing the Apocalypse tank, especially after your testing in Saudi Arabia in the Camel area. Their desire for this tank has reached its peak, so...”

Lin Chenran was completely stunned.

Pakistan is really persistent!
I thought to myself: ”You want an Apocalypse tank without funds? Who gives you the courage? Fish Leong?”

”Mr. Wei, if that’s the case, then your military should arrange for Pakistan to come and see the Apocalypse tank!”

”As for the price, it will definitely be more expensive than the Saudi purchase price in the camel area.”

The Saudi Kingdom participated in the early investment in research and development in the camel area, so in terms of price, Lin Chenran gave them a more favorable price, but if other countries want to purchase, the price will definitely increase.

Even Pakistan cannot purchase the Apocalypse tank at a low price.

……

After the distribution of benefits is settled, there are other important matters to be dealt with.

”It’s still about the navy. Old Zhang wanted to call you, but when he learned that I was coming to the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, he asked me to tell you about it.”

Hearing this, Lin Chenran immediately became interested and asked quickly: ”Oh? What’s the matter?”

”He wants to invite you and the chief designer of your Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher to participate in the seminar on the latest missile destroyers.”

Lin Chenran was surprised: ”Eh? Mr. Wei, I don’t need to go!”

”You also know that I am still in the ignorant stage of the design and development of warships. It doesn’t matter whether I am there or not.”

”When the time comes, our 077 Mechanical Military Factory will send the chief designer of the Tianzhu automatic tracking rocket launcher to attend the meeting!”

Elder Wei shook his head and said calmly, ”Old Zhang will personally appoint you as your general.”

”You must attend this seminar in person. If you don’t go, he will come to the 077 Mechanical Arsenal to invite you.”

”I don’t care whether you go or not. I’m just a ’mouthpiece’ anyway.”

Lin Chenran smiled bitterly and said helplessly: ”Well, it’s not okay for me to go!” If Mr. Zhang came to ”drag” him to attend the seminar on the navy’s new missile destroyer, and his grandfather found out, there would be no shortage of a ”fight”.

Why bother!

Lin Chenran: I’m not a coward! I’m just following my heart!!!
”The second thing is the design and development of the helicopter.” Mr. Wei said slowly, his tone serious and earnest.

”The domestically produced Z-5 multi-purpose helicopter can no longer meet the military’s requirements, so we need to develop a new helicopter to replace it.” There was a hint of regret in his voice, as an old friend had left him again.

The Z-5 helicopter is a medium-sized multi-purpose helicopter.

It was manufactured based on the Russian Mi-4 helicopter.

This helicopter once played an important role in Yan Country’s aviation field.

With the development of the times, its performance has gradually fallen behind the international level.

The Yan State military was thinking about developing a new type of helicopter to deal with the complex international situation.

……

The power unit of the Z-5 helicopter is an air-cooled radial 14-cylinder ”Piston-7” engine.

This engine was advanced for its time, but it lacks power and efficiency compared to modern high-performance engines.

Maximum horsepower of the Piston-7 engine: 1700 hp.

This data was considered good at the time, but it was obviously not enough for the high-speed, high-mobility missions in modern warfare.

The maximum flight speed is 210 km/h.

This speed seems a bit slow nowadays and cannot meet the needs of rapid response and efficient combat.

Maximum range is 520 kilometers.

Such endurance also limits the helicopter’s combat radius, restricting it in long-distance missions.

Maximum take-off weight: 7600 kg.

Although it can carry a certain amount of equipment and personnel, it may be unable to cope with more complex tasks.

The Z-5 helicopter could no longer meet the needs of the military, not to mention that this helicopter was discontinued in 1980, four years ago.

Therefore, developing a new helicopter became a top priority.

Lin Chenran was puzzled: ”Mr. Wei, if you want to design and develop a helicopter, you should go to Harbin Aircraft Industry Company!”

The Z-5 helicopter was manufactured by Harbin Aircraft Industry Corporation based on the Russian Mi-4 helicopter. They have a relatively complete production line and rich experience in aircraft manufacturing.

”Haha, we just want to see if your 077 Mechanical Military Factory has the ability to manufacture helicopters.” Old Wei said with a smile.

”Forehead……”

Lin Chenran was completely speechless.

If the 077 Mechanical Military Factory really has the ability to manufacture helicopters, or can help solve part of the problem, it will promote the research and development of helicopters in Yan Country.

”No, I remember that last year the military spent 1.5 million US dollars to purchase the technical data and some parts of the S-70C ’Black Hawk’ general-purpose transport helicopter from the Eagle Sauce!” Lin Chenran said slowly.

Since Yan Country and Eagle Sauce are still in the ”honeymoon” stage, it purchased 24 Black Hawk helicopters directly from Eagle Sauce.
