Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

If that was the case, then that cat really harbored malicious intentions. …

But then again, since Obscurials were born under the influence of evil gods, this fundamentally explained why they wielded such immense magical power and Dark magic. The higher the degree of depravity, the stronger the power they gained.

Come to think of it, even Grindelwald couldn’t help but want to use this power for his greater good.

This immense and dark power was an irresistible temptation for Dark wizards.

If an army of Obscurials were to form, it could easily dominate a region or even a nation.

With a sufficient number of Obscurials, they could potentially conquer the entire world, spreading calamity and fear at will.

Throughout history, evil Dark wizards had attempted to do just that, attempting to raise an army of Obscurials.

This was a real case. Those Dark wizards seemed to be influenced by some evil god, or they were extremely insane. They imprisoned many children with wizarding talents on isolated islands overseas, abused them in various ways, hurt them emotionally, experimented with forbidden Dark magic on them, and turned them into powerful Obscurials.

But the Dark wizards’ attempt to control the Obscurials and conquer the world ultimately failed. First of all, after becoming Obscurials, the young wizards would not be easily controlled by the Dark wizards. They soon realized that their own power had become stronger than those Dark wizards and began to rebel.

Secondly, and most importantly, Obscurials had a short lifespan and would die quickly.

Historical records showed no instances of an Obscurial surviving past the age of ten.

As the use of dark powers increased and emotional cracks widened, an Obscurial’s body was eventually overtaken by the projection of the evil god within them.

The terrible evil gods came to this world in disguise in this way, but the human body could not withstand the power of the evil god after all.

Therefore, after being controlled by the evil god, an Obscurial reached peak power, but their body rapidly collapsed, leading to death in a short period.

Although this method ultimately failed — resulting in only a small fraction of the gods’ power reaching this world — the evil gods had never ceased their attempts to return, avenge, and destroy this world after their defeat in the war with the Titans.

Ravenclaw’s intelligence gave Evan a deeper understanding of the influence of the evil gods and the connection between the two worlds.

Obscurials were just one of the negative effects brought by the evil gods to this world. In addition, there were evil organizations such as the Raven’s Claw that worshipped the evil gods as deities, and countless Dark wizards seeking power from them.

They spread disasters without scruples, created chaos, and looked for ways to bring the evil gods’ true forms into this world.

If all else failed, they could resort to destroying this world. This was the ultimate goal of those creatures living in the void.

Their dark influence on the world was far beyond Evan’s imagination. These terrible beings, as a collection of all negative emotions and dark sides, were affecting the world and the minds of all human beings at all times.

They would look for suitable targets, and if one truly believed what an evil god told them, the results could be disastrous, as their projections would slowly corrupt them until their souls were ultimately degraded.

The affected weren’t limited to wizards — Muggles could also be influenced.

Muggles, lacking magic, would not turn into Obscurials under the influence of evil gods.

Their most typical reaction was to become inexplicably irritable and full of pessimism, to hate the people, environment and even the whole world around them, and finally to commit suicide or launch terrible attacks on those around them. …

“Is there no way to defeat these creatures?” asked Evan.

“There might be, but the final battle should not take place in our world,” Ravenclaw answered ambiguously. “Moreover, defeating or destroying those terrible Dark entities in terms of strength is not the ultimate goal, nor can it solve all problems. If this could solve all problems, the powerful Titans and ancient warlocks would have done so long ago.”

Her tone seemed to suggest she didn’t want Evan to focus solely on defeating or destroying the evil gods with power, hinting at a different approach.

Evan stared at Ravenclaw, waiting for her to continue.

“These Dark entities dwelling in the shadows of the void, these so-called evil gods — they are the collective embodiment of all negativity and darkness, much like the evil within human hearts. They will always exist and cannot be entirely eradicated,” Ravenclaw went on. “Their power is immense. No matter how many times you defeat them, they will always return. Do you understand what I mean, Evan?”

“You mean the negative emotions and the darkness within human hearts…”

“This is just a metaphor. Those entities are not just simple negative emotions. In fact, they are much more complex and troublesome. They have existed since the birth of this World. In the words of Titan magic, they are part of the rules,” said Ravenclaw with a smile. “What I want you to understand is that destroying the evil gods is not the ultimate goal, just like we can’t erase the dark side of the human heart. However, the evil gods and these dark sides can be defeated by beautiful things. …”

Evan began to understand a little. This argument sounded familiar, as if it was Dumbledore’s point of view.

Needless to say, the so-called beautiful thing was “love”!

The very force Dumbledore often said Voldemort lacked, but Harry possessed in abundance.

Therefore, as destined enemies, Voldemort and Harry’s fate was decided from the very beginning.

No matter how powerful Voldemort became, nor how much forbidden Dark magic he mastered, he could never triumph over Harry. He fundamentally did not understand love, nor the values of family, friendship, faith, sacrifice, and compassion — those positive and beautiful forces.

From the moment he chose Harry, he had already failed and there was no possibility of winning.

These were the things that Dumbledore had always believed in. They seemed illusory, but they had been proven time and again to be undeniably real.

That was why Dumbledore never taught Harry any profound or complex magic, nor encouraged him to pursue great power.

He had made this mistake when he was younger, and didn’t want Harry to make the same mistake.

Compared to “love”, those so-called powers were actually not strong and meaningless. …

Now, Ravenclaw had reiterated this point to Evan, and this was probably also the shared belief of the other Three Founders.

From the Four Founders to Dumbledore, perhaps, this was the legacy of Hogwarts’ will.

However, Evan was still a little confused.

He understood these principles and, to a certain extent, agreed with them.

Yet, Harry’s victory over Voldemort wasn’t solely due to the so-called love — Dumbledore’s meticulous planning played a significant role.

Was Ravenclaw implying that she, too, had planned everything out?!
