Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

“Because of the connection between the two Worlds, we can reach the world where the evil gods live by opening spatial channels, through death, or other means. Well, to be more precise, it may be just a part of that world,” said Ravenclaw. “Remember? I just said that that world is different from ours. It is composed of countless spaces. Broadly speaking, the space corresponding to the world we live in can be regarded as a part of that world. Do you understand what I mean?”

“I understand!” Evan nodded, using his own way to process the vast information in Ravenclaw’s words.

He felt that his understanding of the evil gods and the world they lived in might not be so accurate.

But at least, through Ravenclaw’s explanation, Evan knew the general outline and the context of the whole thing!

These concepts no longer seemed as strange and abrupt to him as they had been at first.

Even now, it was still hard to accept these things — they gave off a feeling like the entire tone of the story had completely fallen apart.

An incredible but even larger magical world gradually unfolded before Evan.

It sounded incredible, but when he thought about it carefully, if magic existed, then Titans, evil gods and a whole new world did not seem impossible. Next, he should listen to Ravenclaw talk about how evil gods affected their world.

Also, what about the so-called projections of the evil gods?

Finally, what did Ravenclaw — or rather, the Four Founders of Hogwarts — want Evan to do? What was their request?

Since Evan was already part of their plan, unable to alter the history that had unfolded or save the gradually collapsing worldview and increasingly deviating storyline, it was time to provide him with all the necessary information.

If the Four Founders truly expected Evan to accomplish something important, they should let him know.

As for the specific request, Evan sincerely hoped it wouldn’t involve experiencing death or venturing into that unknown world.

He wouldn’t like it there — especially not those slimy evil gods. …

“Because of the connection between the two worlds, we can go to the world where the evil gods are, and the evil gods can also influence us through projections. Depending on the different abilities of the evil gods, the specific forms of the so-called projections vary. They might appear in magical items or magical creatures that can communicate with you, or as incarnations of a deity you worship. The most common method is to directly live in the cracks of the human mind.”

“In the cracks of the mind…” Evan repeated.

“This is a very abstract concept, not easy to understand. Let me give you an example. You might have met or heard of Obscurials.”

“Yes, I’ve heard of them,” Evan nodded.

It was said that Dumbledore’s sister, Ariana, was an Obscurial — a terrifying result of abuse that shattered the Dumbledore family. Ariana killed her mother during an outburst of uncontrollable magic.

In the end, it was not known whether it was one of the Dumbledore brothers or Grindelwald who accidentally killed Ariana.

Ariana’s life was a tragedy and became the most painful memory in Dumbledore’s life.

Her story was just one among many tales of Obscurials. Obscurials were the result of young wizards losing control. They gained power to wield uncontrollable Dark magic, harming others and causing sorrow and misfortune.

Obscurials, who caused all this, might seem hateful.

However, their creation was inherently tragic. Behind every Obscurial was an unfortunate story.

“Yes, Obscurials. I wonder if these poor children will still exist a thousand years from now,” said Ravenclaw, sighing softly. “But now, they are very common among Muggles. This is wrong. Wizards turn a blind eye to these tragedies that are happening. Because of the persecution of ignorant Muggles and the lack of correct guidance, many Muggle-born children with magical potential are either tortured to death or end up becoming Obscurials, causing terrible disasters. This is one of the reasons why Godric, Helga and I want to recruit Muggle-born students. Salazar and the conservative pure-blood Wizarding families’ idea is to kill these Obscurials to solve the problem, but Obscurials are actually some very poor children. They are innocent in nature and need our help, not extermination. …”

“A thousand years later, Obscurials are much rarer but still exist,” said Evan, informing Ravenclaw of the situation in his time.

“That’s inevitable. Many wizards believe that the reason for the emergence of the Obscurials is that those children have been severely abused, their minds have been distorted, and their magical powers have lost control. This statement makes sense, but it cannot explain why the Obscurials are stronger than most trained wizards and master so many powerful Dark magics. Some of them can even surpass exceptionally gifted wizards in spellcasting ability,” Ravenclaw said.

Evan hadn’t studied the Obscurials specifically, but it was indeed strange that everything was just as Ravenclaw had said.

Those Obscurials were just some children with magical talents, usually quite young. They were indeed abused before becoming Obscurials, but that was the reason for their evil transformation, not the reason why they became powerful after evil transformation.

“Professor, are you saying it’s because of the so-called projections of the evil gods?”

“Yes, this is the influence of the projections of evil gods living in the cracks of the mind,” said Ravenclaw. “The dark essence deep within an Obscurial’s mind is the projection of an evil god. These projections lure them into corruption, teaching them horrifying Dark magic, and encouraging them to attack others until they are utterly destroyed. That’s the power of the projections of evil gods.”

If that was the case, it was really scary.

“The cracks in the minds of these young wizards who haven’t received proper guidance are the favorite places for the projections of the evil gods to inhabit, but they are not the only choice. Depending on the abilities of the evil gods, the powers they possess, and the hosts they choose can vary,” Ravenclaw continued. “Besides young wizards who lack proper guidance, those with great power are also prime targets. After all, if they can truly control such a wizard, the benefits far outweigh those of possessing an untrained young wizard. I mentioned earlier, Evan, that the peculiar cat always lurking around you was a projection of an evil god. I don’t know where you encountered him, but he has clearly taken an interest in you, seeing you as a suitable host. He has been hiding near you, waiting for the right opportunity. …”
