Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

Finally, the pages of The Book of Abraham stopped flipping, settling on the first page of the third chapter.

In the picture on the page, besides the evil god that had been sealed in Norway, there was also the strange cat Evan had brought back from Egypt.

The cat was baring his teeth in anger, claws raised high, with an indescribable hint of grievance on his face.

“Is he sealed?” Evan was full of doubt. “Anyway, what on earth is this cat?”

From the very beginning of their encounter in Egypt, this cat had been playing hide-and-seek with Evan for over a month.

Even though he stayed with him, he refused to appear openly. He managed to evade even Dumbledore’s inspection with ease.

The cat’s influence on Evan was subtle. He could hear a few cat meows from time to time, which made Hedwig respect him and offer him dead mice, and Evan suddenly became interested in Elaine’s exclusive food. …

Beyond these quirks, the cat had also helped Evan many times.

In the final prison of the Egyptian Ruins of Amun Ra, if it weren’t for the cat’s guidance, Evan might have been deceived by the gods; even just now, if it weren’t for the cat’s help in absorbing a large amount of magic power, Evan’s situation could have been far more dangerous. …

But in the end, he was inexplicably sealed within The Book of Abraham!

This implied that the cat and the evil god beside him were entities of the same nature.

In other words, the cat might very well be a new evil god unknown to Evan — a dangerous being.

Continuing with this line of thought, the cat hiding within Evan must have had ulterior motives, with no good intentions.

Of course, he might have become very weak due to being imprisoned in Ramses II’s cage for countless years.

Aside from acting cute and pretending to be a regular cat, he never had the opportunity to execute any of his dangerous plans or schemes.

Evan had a deep understanding of this situation.

After all, what could a cat do?

No matter what he wanted to do, he was truly powerless to act!

Once The Book of Abraham sealed the mysterious cat, it stopped absorbing magical energy, and no more power surged into the area.

It was only then that Evan noticed the changes in his surroundings. The holy light in the Great Hall began to gradually weaken.

The white light gradually dissipated, and the surrounding scene appeared in front of Evan, hazy and blurry.

In the mist, he saw what was happening on the high platform in the center.

Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff were waving their wands. Orange-red, dark blue and brown-yellow magical lights continued to emerge from the tips of their wands, slowly wrapping around the scepter in the center.

Under their control, the broken scepter that exuded powerful magic was moved at an extremely slow speed to the black hole directly above. Its influence on the surroundings gradually weakened, and the suppressed legendary magic item gradually regained its brilliance.

The scene was mesmerizing, and the black hole above the scepter was filled with mystery.

Evan guessed that the three Founders were working together to seal this out-of-control, powerful magical item. The black hole that was swallowing the broken scepter might lead to another dimension. This was an extremely rare and obscure type of magic, a sight almost impossible to witness in later generations.

He saw many complex runes appearing beside the three Founders, but soon, Evan lost interest in watching. …

Without any warning, a surge of searing heat rushed into Evan’s body.

His eyes suddenly widened, he clenched his fists and his body couldn’t help shaking.

It was as if Evan had swallowed a large mouthful of boiling water. His body was dominated by the continuous impact and sweat broke out on his forehead.

Just when he thought he was about to endure it, another wave of fiery heat surged through him. Soon, these intermittent bursts connected into a continuous flow. The scorching, boiling sensation seemed to backflow into him from the Locket hanging around his neck. In reality, it was magic power.

This time, Evan remembered that this thing had the function of absorbing magic power and feeding it back. …

Now, Slytherin’s Locket was feeding back the magic it had just absorbed from the holy light, helping him to increase his magic power.

This was supposed to be a good thing, but the process was extremely painful.

Due to the vast amount of magic absorbed earlier, Evan felt the overwhelming energy rushing back into his body from the Locket.

It was as if molten lava was flowing through his veins, or as though he were an inflating balloon being pumped with scalding hot air. The speed and intensity of this influx kept increasing, growing stronger and faster, to the point where he felt he might explode. …

The expansion of magic power inside his body and the squeezing from the outside were two completely different sensations, though both unbearable.

Evan felt that if he continued like this, he would either be blown to pieces or burned to death.

He stretched out his right hand towards the three Founders, and the last thought in his mind was, why Slytherin…

When Evan regained consciousness, he was back in the headmaster’s office.

He was lying on a comfortable sofa in the center of the room, and when he opened his eyes he could see the skylight above.

It was late at night outside, and countless stars were shining brightly.

“You’re awake!” Ravenclaw’s voice sounded at the side. “Salazar’s potion worked well. It repaired the damage to your body caused by absorbing too much magic power. The recovery process varies by person, but you recovered faster than he anticipated.”

Evan sat up, his entire body aching with every movement. A cold sensation flowed through him, alleviating the pain. Perhaps this was the effect of Slytherin’s potion. He looked around and saw Lady Ravenclaw seated at her desk, smiling warmly at him.

“Professor……”

“It’s good to see you, Evan!” said Ravenclaw warmly. “I’m sorry you’ve had to face such things within the school. Oh, don’t move — just stay in this position. The damage caused by the magical energy will take a long time to heal. I know you have many questions, and I have some important things to discuss with you. We also need to leave enough time for Helga to study that ancient prophet’s magic book. That’s why I kept you here — you were supposed to return an hour ago.”

Evan tried his best to process the information she had just revealed before asking, “You adjusted the Time-Turner’s settings?”

“Not adjusted, but rather enhanced the power of your Time-Turner, allowing you to stay at this point in time longer,” she said, picking up from her desk a Time-Turner that looked similar to Evan’s, but was clearly far more intricate and exquisite. “This Time-Turner is of the same origin as the one in your possession — it is, in fact, the very same Time-Turner. But right now, it belongs to me, while in the future, it will belong to you. I used it to amplify the power of the one you hold. …”
