Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

The two guys talking outside were members of the Malfoy and Peverell families. Together with the Black, Stinchcombe, Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Hufflepuff families they mentioned, these seven pure-blood Wizarding families controlled more than half of the seats in the Wizards’ Council (the predecessor of the Ministry of Magic, the current governing body of the Wizarding World), and had a very strong influence.

Each of the seven pure-blood Wizarding families had a glorious history when traced back through time.

In ancient magic history or legends, the names of these seven families were well-known.

However, in later generations, only the Black family and the Malfoy family survived.

The surnames of the other five families disappeared in the long river of time and became part of history.

Of course, although the family name had disappeared, the descendants with their bloodline still existed.

According to what Evan understood, the Potter family was likely descended from the Stinchcombe family and the Peverell family.

Because Harry inherited the Invisibility Cloak, one of the Three Deathly Hallows, this was the most direct proof.

In addition, another of the Three Deathly Hallows, the Resurrection Stone, had been circulated among the Gaunt family, descendants of Slytherin.

Therefore, the Gaunt family could also be said to be descendants of the Peverell family.

This was the most directly proven inheritance relationship. In fact, Peverell was a very large pure-blood Wizarding family. They frequently intermarried with other pure-blood Wizarding families, so much so that many wizards claimed that they had Peverell blood. In addition, the Black family and the Malfoy family had a habit of intermarriage for generations, the Bones family also had the blood of the Ravenclaw family, and the descendants of the Hufflepuff family…

All in all, tracing these bloodlines was an exceedingly complicated endeavor.

Intermarriage between pure-blood Wizarding families was very common. Thinking about it, there weren’t that many wizards out there. If they insisted on not marrying Muggles, then there would be only a handful of suitable marriage partners, and they wouldn’t have much choice.

Great families usually chose to marry members of other great families or those with exceptional talent in magic.

Even though a thousand years had passed, the pure-blood Wizarding family was still a very narrow circle, but the complexity of the relationships within this small circle was beyond imagination, and was comparable to the chaos of those Muggle nobles.

No matter what, whether one’s ideas and concepts could be recognized and implemented depended on one’s own strength.

Noble bloodline or the like was actually worthless if one could not inherit bloodline magic.

Especially in the Middle Ages, this kind of relationship based on strength was even more obvious.

Why the seven pure-blood Wizarding families could control the Wizards’ Council was because they were the most powerful.

The emergence and rise of Hogwarts’ power had, to a certain extent, disrupted the current balance in the Wizarding World.

Especially Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin, both of them were very visionary wizards.

Creating Hogwarts was just the first step; their ultimate goal was to change the Wizarding World.

Through the conversation between the two people outside, the information he knew, and the subsequent development of history, Evan briefly sorted out the current situation.

Hogwarts and the Wizarding families behind them represented open forces. For the development of the Wizarding World, they were even willing to share their precious magic knowledge. Their specific propositions were slightly different.

Slytherin hoped that the Wizarding World could develop in an orderly manner and exclude Muggles, while Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw advocated accepting Muggles. This was the main disagreement among them, but the interests of the Four were currently the same.

The old pure-blood Wizarding families such as the Malfoy family, the Black family, and the Peverell family advocated conservatism. They insisted on the idea of pure-blood supremacy, rejected the acceptance of Muggles, rejected the establishment of Wizarding prisons, rejected the implementation of laws restricting pure-blood wizards, rejected the teaching method of Hogwarts, and rejected all changes…

For the next thousand years, the Wizarding World was dominated by the two forces fighting each other endlessly.

Oh, and there was also the Stinchcombe family, whose attitude was unclear.

However, judging from subsequent developments, they likely supported reform and openness.

The Potter family’s ancestors traced back to a member of the Stinchcombe family in the Thirteenth century. He was a Potions Master who loved a reclusive countryside life. Because of his friendly yet absent-minded demeanor, his Muggle neighbors called him “the Potterer.”

Eventually, he formally adopted “Potter” as his surname, cutting ties with the Stinchcombe family.

Because at that time the British Wizarding World and the entire country were caught in a protracted war. This was also the period when family power was most reshuffled. Many old pure-blood Wizarding families died during this period.

Consider the Peverell family, once so illustrious, which had no male heirs left and relied on female members to carry on the family name and inherit the Deathly Hallows. The Potter family acquired the Invisibility Cloak during that period. Thus, the Potter ancestor changed his surname and avoided being forced to fight on the battlefield.

It was hard to judge whether his actions were cowardly or pragmatic, but the Potter family survived while the Stinchcombe and Peverell families faded into history.

Outside the door, the conversation sounded again.

“We are different from your family, Malfoy. The Peverell family is the oldest pure-blood Wizarding family. Our heritage and strength are beyond your imagination. There are still people in our family who have inherited bloodline magic,” said the boy from the Peverell family, “but it’s not me. Let’s not talk about this. What are you going to do?”

“We have the same goal, Clive. I think even the ancient and noble Peverell family doesn’t want the Wizards’ Council to pass this proposal, right? Otherwise, it won’t be long before the prison called Azkaban is filled with pure-blood wizards. Think about it, in the stupid law they proposed, it’s illegal to kill Muggles, what else can wizards do? ! And there are nonsense such as restricting the development of Dark magic, our power will decline significantly!”

“Well, you have a point.”

“So, our families must unite this time,” Malfoy lowered his voice and said; “My father has already started this matter. There is no problem with your family, but his last letter to me said that the Black family is still hesitant about whether to support us or Hogwarts. They also have a good relationship with the Ravenclaw family. My father plans to use a marriage…”

“What?! Annie is my fiancée!”

“That’s your wishful thinking, Clive. There is no precedent of intermarriage between the Black family and the Peverell family. On the contrary, the Malfoy family and the Black family have intermarried for a long time.” The slick voice paused for a long moment.

Evan shook his head. Just like the Malfoy he knew, this Malfoy ancestor was a master manipulator.

Clive Peverell, who was talking to him, was no match for him and was being guided by him in the direction of the conversation.

It wouldn’t be long before he was bewitched by Malfoy.

Sure enough, Malfoy’s voice continued to ring, “That’s what my father planned, to deepen the relationship between the two families through a marriage. But you know me, Clive, we are old friends, and you know I have no interest in Annie at all, so, if you can help me accomplish that thing in school, I will persuade my father not to propose to the Black family, then you will have a chance, and the Malfoy family will help you then…
