Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

Evan witnessed a classic Malfoy-style scheme: they orchestrated everything in secret, never revealing themselves.

Even when it came to claiming the spotlight at the end, they refused to do so, unwilling to take the slightest risk.

Fleeting fame or reputation meant nothing to the Malfoys. What they valued were tangible benefits.

Regardless of whether this matter succeeded or failed in the end, on the surface, it had nothing to do with the Malfoy family.

Therefore, even if the Ravenclaws knew the truth, they had no reason to take revenge on the Malfoy family.

The Peverells took most of the risk, earning a reputation of little practical use, and possibly infamy.

But Evan could be sure that when the benefits were finally distributed, the Malfoy family would definitely gain the greatest benefits and rights.

All this talk of “pure-blood Wizarding families advancing together”? The Malfoys had no genuine goodwill behind it.

Such a huge conspiracy could not be planned in a day or two. It would take a long time just to invite a Cardinal from the Vatican. However, the Malfoy family did not tell their so-called “allies” about the plan until the last moment; and even then, in secret, manipulating that boy from the Peverell family with words full of bewitching meaning.

The reason for doing this was to prevent that idiot from having time to discuss matters with his family. He had now completely become a pawn of the Malfoy family!

As long as he couldn’t resist the temptation and stood up in public to question Rowena Ravenclaw, the confrontation between the Peverell family and the Ravenclaw family would begin. There would be no room for regret. No matter who won in the end, the Malfoy family would benefit the most.

If the Peverell family got greedy and truly took the Diadem, Evan could guarantee that this news would soon reach Rowena Ravenclaw’s ears, and then…

And then there was the plan to instigate Salazar Slytherin to take control of the school alone. Was Slytherin’s departure related to this?

In the power struggles and changes, the Malfoy family was definitely not a bystander that could be ignored.

As for what lay too far ahead, Evan couldn’t manage that. For now, he needed to return the Diadem to Rowena Ravenclaw before the Malfoys’ plan succeeded. But he didn’t want to — and couldn’t — walk straight into the Great Hall in full view of everyone to do so. …

His identity needed to be kept confidential and should not be known to anyone other than the Four Founders.

What should he do now?

Evan glanced at himself, then at the unconscious girl beside him. Perhaps it was time to use Polyjuice Potion again!

Given the urgency, he had no other way to contact the Four Founders. He had to make his way to the Great Hall.

Evan had plenty of experience using Polyjuice Potion and knew how to handle it.

The only problem was that he had never worn medieval-style dress robes, and this outfit was so hard to take off…

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………

A few minutes later, Annie Black returned to the Great Hall.

Considering that the girl wasn’t wearing anything underneath, leaving her lying on the classroom floor like that felt wrong. In the end, Evan decided not to take her clothes off. He was glad that Hermione’s clothes were all with him and she was about the same height as the girl from the Black family. He tried his best to find robes of similar style as a replacement, though he did take the sword with him.

Speaking of which, while the robes in later generations had a retro style, they were still quite different from authentic medieval clothing.

Moreover, girls’ dress robes had skirts, which was a big challenge for Evan. …

He spent quite a while trying to figure out how to wear it, only to suddenly realize: Why bother changing clothes at all?!

As long as he appeared in the guise of Annie Black, it didn’t matter what he wore. Clothes were entirely secondary. He already looked suspicious enough, and in this situation, being a little more suspicious wouldn’t make a difference?!

Passing through the massive oak door, Evan entered the Great Hall.

He was now the image of Annie Black, only with strange clothes.

He looked around, and the scene before him was different from what he was familiar with.

Now, the space here seemed to be larger. There were no four iconic long tables and the staff seating, but the area inside the Great Hall was still divided into four different parts, and the chairs representing the four Houses were arranged in a circle around the center.

The high walls reached up to the ceiling, candles were floating in the air, and there were colorful flags representing the four Houses.

The ceiling did not show the sky outside, but was an exquisite mural resembling Beauxbatons’ design.

The scenery above was constantly changing, and below was bustling with people, very lively.

Though Hogwarts was newly founded and hadn’t yet admitted many Muggle-born students, meaning the student population was small, many prominent wizards had gathered here to listen to Rowena Ravenclaw’s speech. Among them, Evan spotted several oddly dressed individuals.

They all looked like they were attending a Halloween party, full of strange medieval style!

At the center of it all, Rowena Ravenclaw stood on a raised platform to deliver her speech.

She was wearing a stunning sky-blue dress, and her magically amplified voice rose just enough to overshadow the lively discussions in the Great Hall.

Evan also saw Godric Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff, who were sitting next to the platform with several very old wizards. They looked much older than when Evan had last seen them. However, he didn’t spot Salazar Slytherin anywhere.

As Evan looked towards the center, Helga Hufflepuff suddenly turned her head and looked at him.

She didn’t seem to recognize Evan. When their eyes met, she just smiled kindly and quickly turned her gaze back to Ravenclaw.

Evan was a little annoyed. Why didn’t he wave to her just now? If he had given the Diadem to Hufflepuff, it would have saved a lot of trouble. Now he couldn’t rush to the platform in the middle to interrupt Ravenclaw’s speech and return the Diadem to her. …

He stood there for a while, and the three Founders never looked at him again.

Just as Evan was looking around, a loud noise suddenly sounded from the center.

The surroundings suddenly became quiet, and everyone saw a tall and strong boy walking up to the platform in the center. The sound just now was made by the wand in his hand. For a moment, everyone seemed bewildered, and noisy discussions rang out in the Great Hall again.

This guy must be Clive Peverell. His body was shaking uncontrollably, but his face had an expression of madness and excitement.

Following his gaze, Evan spotted someone in the Slytherin section — it was unmistakably a Malfoy. …

There was no doubt about it, that platinum blond hair was far too distinctive!

“So, it’s starting, is it?” Evan found himself less anxious now. He casually took a seat nearby.

According to Malfoy’s plot, there was still a good show to be performed. Let them all finish their performances, and then he could make his move at the end.
