Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

“After receiving the appointment from the Wizards’ Council, we sent someone to seek help from the Church,” Malfoy turned and addressed the crowd in the Hall, raising his voice as he continued, “All of you present here are outstanding members of the Wizarding World, powerful witches and wizards. You are likely aware that Lady Ravenclaw’s Diadem symbolizes wisdom. It can enhance the wearer’s intelligence and amplify their magical perception — a renowned magical artifact left by the spellcasters of the previous age. As the only inheritor of the magic civilization of the last era, the Church has a unique method to verify such precious magic items, that is, prophecy. Therefore, we decided to seek help from the Church. This is the only and fastest way to verify whether Lady Ravenclaw’s Diadem is real. It is an honor that Cardinal Braxius, who is visiting London, is willing to help us, and he happens to be proficient in prophecy…”

Every time he finished a sentence, there was a heated discussion in the Great Hall.

Judging from the reactions of many people, they actually didn’t know about this matter, neither the origin of the Diadem nor how to verify its authenticity.

These were secrets known only to those truly ancient pure-blood Wizarding families and powerful wizards, but Malfoy was now revealing them to the public, ensuring everyone understood the Diadem’s importance and the implications of its loss. Only by hitting Ravenclaw harder could they gain greater benefits later.

After all, many students knew that the Diadem that Ravenclaw had always been wearing was very valuable, but they didn’t expect it to be so precious.

Even in this period, legendary magic items from the previous era were extremely rare.

The impact was akin to someone suddenly standing up during breakfast to popularize the knowledge of the Deathly Hallows to all students in the school, then announcing that the wand in Dumbledore’s hand was the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand in legend.

One could imagine the students’ reactions and the ripple effect, which should be comparable to the scene unfolding now.

“Do you think what he’s saying is true?”

“It must be false! Nothing Malfoy says can be trusted.”

“But this kind of thing can’t be faked. I’ve heard of the legend of Lady Ravenclaw’s Diadem …”

“Don’t forget, Lady Ravenclaw is the smartest witch in the world. It’s not surprising she has the legendary Diadem. What I’m saying is, Malfoy and Peverell’s claim that the Diadem was stolen is false — it’s simply impossible.”

The students were talking about it, while Evan took the Diadem out of the cloth bag and looked at it carefully.

The Diadem was now in his hands. This legendary magic item was really not as magical as Malfoy said.

Evan knew it was not simple and there were so many legendary stories about it, but no matter how he looked at it, it was just an ordinary iron ring with a simple style, covered with rust, the kind that no one would even bother picking up if it were thrown on the ground.

It had been like this ever since Evan found it in the Room of Requirement.

In fact, to be more precise, as Voldemort’s former Horcrux, it had been severely damaged when Evan destroyed the soul within it. Although it was later repaired, it still looked so ordinary — fragile, as if it might snap at the slightest touch.

Its most remarkable moment occurred in the Merpeople Chamber. Under the influence of magic left by Ravenclaw, the Diadem was restored, transformed into a raven, and delivered an important message to Evan before returning to its original, ordinary form.

It looked like it had consumed all its magic power. No matter how hard Evan studied it, there was no reaction …

Evan had seen many legendary magic items, and this Diadem could be said to be the most ordinary one.

On the stage, Armand Malfoy once again thanked the Cardinal for his help.

“It is my duty to save the poor lost lambs. The divine will help us witness the truth!” said Braxius devoutly.

“That’s enough! I don’t trust this guy, nor do I trust any of you. Rowena’s Diadem is not lost at all!” Gryffindor said stubbornly. “If you’re so knowledgeable about it, Malfoy, then you must know the Diadem chooses the wisest wizard as its owner…”

“Obviously, I have the highest respect for Lady Ravenclaw’s wisdom, but unfortunately, if the Diadem has truly been stolen, it means she is no longer the wisest witch in the world,” said Malfoy. “According to the duties entrusted to me by the Council, I must investigate this matter thoroughly and find the stolen Diadem and the new wisest wizard … or witch. This is of great importance to us all. I must remind you again that the Diadem is not a private property of Lady Ravenclaw or Hogwarts, but a common treasure of the Wizarding World. It has been passed down from generation to generation among the wisest wizards. Its symbolic significance is greater than its own magic.”

“I agree with what you said. Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure,” Ravenclaw said calmly and gestured to Gryffindor to calm down. “So, I consent to the Cardinal verifying the Diadem. What do you need me to do?”

“Oh, nothing at all, the divine will guide us!” Braxius replied, raising his staff high.

Almost in an instant, a white light fell from the sky and landed on him.

What a display! Many students gaped in astonishment at him. What kind of magic was this?!

Although the Great Hall was well-lit, when the white light appeared, Evan still felt as if everything in front of him was suddenly clear. At a speed visible to the naked eye, the soft white light gradually spread into a beam of light, and then the second, third, and fourth beams of light fell one after another …

There were more and more light beams, and the area they covered was getting larger and larger.

They emitted a soft white light that eased tension and brought a pleasant feeling.

Within these beams of light, Evan could faintly hear hymns of praise, as though they were coming from heaven itself.

Inside the Great Hall, the wizards all fell silent, staring at the Cardinal on the stage, marveling at the magic he was performing.

These pillars of light and the hymns of praise had a calming effect, as if imbued with some magical power to bring peace of mind.

Many Muggle-born students even began to pray and mutter to themselves.

Wizards’ magic would not produce this kind of effect. It was easy for them to create some light or sound, no matter how strong it was, but it would not calm people’s hearts.

This involved a certain degree of soul magic, but it was different …

Evan couldn’t explain it clearly, but it was magical anyway.

Just seeing this magic made his trip worthwhile, as this would never be seen in later generations.

As more and more pillars of light appeared, the sacred hymns in the Great Hall became clearer and clearer.

If there really was a God, then this must be a miracle!

For a fleeting moment at the beginning, Evan was also lost in it, staring blankly at the holy light above him, as if someone was talking to him in his head.

It wasn’t until a sudden chill emanated from the Diadem in his hand that Evan snapped back to his senses …
