Reborn As Super Heiress

If it was someone else’s role, Huo Sining might have refused directly, but since this role belongs to Wu Jingyi, Huo Sining really doesn’t have a reason to reject it.

She can already imagine that when Wu Jingyi is watching the Spring Festival Gala at home and realizes that the role she schemed to grab was actually replaced by Huo Sining, Wu Jingyi’s expression must be quite spectacular.

Thinking of this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but show a slight smile, nodded, and said to Han Wen, ”Director Han, this is not a difficult task. As long as the other skit actors have no objections, I’m completely fine on my end.”

Han Wen was overjoyed and said repeatedly, ”I will work on them; you can rest assured. You don’t need to worry about this matter. What you need to do now is figure out a way to memorize the lines as quickly as possible. I’ve already asked someone to print the script for the skit and also copied the last rehearsal video of their program. You can watch it in this room, and I’ll talk to the other actors once you’ve memorized the lines, then you all can rehearse privately a few times.”

Huo Sining didn’t have any objections. Soon, someone delivered the skit script and video. After carefully reading the script, Huo Sining repeatedly watched the skit video several times.

To be honest, Huo Sining has never acted in a play or skit, and her acting skills definitely can’t compare to professionally trained actors. However, this skit’s supporting role was specially designed for Wu Jingyi. Wu Jingyi ventured into acting later and is not a professional actress, thus her acting is also quite raw. In this skit, she’s just meant to be a trophy role, so replacing her wasn’t a difficult task for Huo Sining.

After watching Wu Jingyi’s performance, Huo Sining felt confident. To be honest, she wasn’t impressed with Wu Jingyi’s acting skills. She couldn’t guarantee to switch expressions as smoothly as other seasoned actors, but if it’s just about playing a trophy role like Wu Jingyi, Huo Sining believed it wouldn’t be difficult for her.

Once she was sure she had memorized the lines, Huo Sining asked someone to inform Han Wen.

Han Wen was busy placating several skit actors. This skit has gone through many twists and turns, and those actors were physically and mentally exhausted. But to get this skit on stage, several veteran actors worked tirelessly, trying to perfect the skit. They thought it settled after the last rehearsal, yet unexpectedly, in the last few hours before going on stage, the supporting actor caused such a ruckus.

Those veteran actors were already very unhappy with Wu Jingyi, a latecomer. If it weren’t for her strong connections squeezing her in, those veteran actors would have showcased their apprentices. However, their plans got derailed when Wu Jingyi took the role. Although disappointed, they had to abide by the arrangement as she had backing. However, now at the last moment, Wu Jingyi decided not to perform, isn’t this just playing people?

Those veteran actors have completely fallen out with Wu Jingyi.

They thought this skit was about to be axed, but then Han Wen mentioned finding a replacement for the role, which left the actors surprised.

”Director Han, I have no objection to finding a replacement, but let me say this upfront, this skit script is the result of countless hours of work, and we cherish this work. If the person you find speaks the lines all wrong, it would be embarrassing for all of us when on stage. In that case, we’d rather not perform!”

”Exactly, we can’t fall short like Ada did. If that’s the case, there’s no point in performing the skit.”

”We’ve appeared on the Spring Festival Gala so many times; missing one or two times doesn’t matter to us. But this work is our baby, and we can’t let it be destroyed casually.”

”...”

The actors voiced their opinions fervently. Han Wen, with a smile still on his face, felt cold sweats in his palms, responding, ”Rest assured, no problem at all. This time I found someone reliable. She’s waiting now. Let me inform you once she confirms everything, how does that sound?”

Before any actors could express their stance, a staff member knocked on the door, ”Director Han, Miss Huo asked me to inform you that everything’s ready on her end.”

Han Wen paused, instinctively checking his watch, realizing that from the moment she left the room, it had been less than twenty minutes. Could the girl have memorized her lines so quickly? That’s too fast!

Han Wen felt a surge of anxiety, fearing that Huo Sining had been careless. He wanted the staff to return and tell Huo Sining to review a few more times. But before he could say anything, a few actors had already understood, exchanging glances, with Qiao Kun leading with a cold snort:

”This Miss Huo is the substitute you found, huh? Hmph, I want to see what this person can actually do, to boldly declare that she’s got no problem!”

Upon saying this, Qiao Kun took the lead and walked out, followed closely by the other veteran actors. Observing the situation, Han Wen knew that things had reached a critical point with no turning back. He followed obediently behind the veteran actors, silently praying in his heart: Miss Huo, please prove yourself, don’t make a mistake at this crucial moment!

Huo Sining was waiting for Han Wen, but unexpectedly a group of old actors stormed in aggressively like an army seeking justice. Upon seeing the group enter, she froze for a moment but quickly regained composure, respectfully saying, ”Hello, teachers.”

Qiao Kun recognized Huo Sining, recalling that the girl was late for the last rehearsal. He heard she was also a newcomer, which left a bad first impression for Qiao Kun. But at this point, he couldn’t be nitpicky. As long as she could recite the lines accurately, he wouldn’t be able to complain much.

”No need for idle talk, let’s go straight to the lines. If the lines aren’t solid, the skit won’t go on.”

After saying this, Qiao Kun immediately got into character, shouting out the opening lines.

Huo Sining understood that these actors were bottling up their frustration and could sympathize with their sentiments. After all, encountering such an incident right before going on stage wouldn’t sit well with anyone. Thus, she refrained from showing any dissatisfaction, and following Qiao Kun’s request, she obediently recited the lines.

Once Huo Sining smoothly recited the final line, those seasoned actors couldn’t help but exchange surprised glances, each displaying a hint of astonishment in their expressions. Their gaze at Huo Sining shifted noticeably.
