Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1109: Chapter 1105: Where Have I Seen That Grandpa Before

As she spoke, the Old Granny looked at the porcelain in her hand, feeling somewhat melancholy: ”I didn’t know this porcelain was defective. If I had known, I wouldn’t have carried it out without wrapping it up first, at least...”

At this point, the Old Granny was filled with regret, her eyes instantly turning red.

A perfectly good piece of porcelain was chipped, and especially after someone informed her that the porcelain might be worth a million, anyone in such a situation would feel regret and anguish. Everyone present could understand the mood of the Old Granny.

”Madam, like a broken mirror, this porcelain won’t be whole again.” Huo Sining saw the tears welling up in the Old Granny’s eyes and couldn’t bear it, impulsively saying, ”If you really want to sell, let me buy this Plum Vase. I might not be able to offer a high price, but if you’re willing, I would buy it for thirty thousand.”

”Huo, you...”

Yin Zeyan beside her didn’t expect Huo Sining to offer to buy the broken Plum Vase. He wanted to persuade her not to act impulsively, but the words wouldn’t come out upon seeing the Old Granny’s pitiful expression, which moved even him with empathy.

After hearing Huo Sining’s words, the Old Granny was stunned, but then she smiled and shook her head: ”Girl, your kindness is appreciated by this old woman. If you had told me about the history of this vase earlier, and offered thirty thousand, I might have sold it. But now, offering thirty thousand for my Plum Vase is truly undervaluing me.”

The Plum Vase was already damaged; it could fetch at most a couple thousand at other defective goods shops. Previously, the Old Granny kept asking the shop assistant to help check again. Now, Huo Sining was willing to pay thirty thousand, and everyone thought the Old Granny would agree wholeheartedly, but her reaction left everyone stunned. No one expected such a response from her.

Huo Sining was quite surprised, wanting to say more, but the Old Granny stopped her, smiling at Huo Sining, she said:

”My husband is seriously ill now. The doctor said he needs surgery urgently, and even if he recovers, he probably won’t be able to drink tea anymore. That tea set he won’t use, little girl, I’d rather not bother anyone else. Can I ask you for a favor?”

”Please go ahead,” Huo Sining nodded.

”You have a face I like, and I can tell you should be into collecting too. I won’t hide it anymore; my husband is gravely ill and urgently needs money. If, as you say, those teapots and tea bowls are indeed special Mao Porcelain, then I won’t keep them. You see how much my porcelain is worth; I will sell them all to you. How about it?”

Because of Huo Sining’s brilliant demonstration and explanation earlier, the Old Granny trusted her immensely and could tell that Huo Sining was very interested in the tea set in her hand. That was why she offered to sell the tea set to Huo Sining.

However, Yin Zeyan, standing nearby, turned pale upon hearing the Old Granny’s words.

”Madam, Auntie, must you do this? Can’t you see I’m eagerly looking at you too? I also like your porcelain set; why don’t you consider me?”

Yin Zeyan felt deeply injured, with the shadow in his heart rapidly expanding. He had lost hope for this world that judged by appearances.

Huo Sining was pleasantly surprised; she hadn’t expected the request to be about this. Was there even a need to consider it? Such a good opportunity left her with no reason to hesitate; naturally, she agreed immediately.

”Alright, where do you live? Coincidentally, we drove over, and the car is just parked at the street corner. If it’s convenient right now, shall we go see the items?”

Huo Sining couldn’t wait; this was Mao Porcelain, which one might never encounter even after visiting many Antique Streets. But this Old Granny had a complete set at home; she of course wanted to get it immediately.

Huo Sining secretly rejoiced that thankfully the Old Granny had found a buyer back then, and luckily both she and her husband were cultured, not messing with the set. Otherwise, what she might get now would probably just be a few scattered remnants.

This reminded Huo Sining of the Eggshell Glaze Tea Bowl she had acquired from a village near Taicheng Ancient Tomb earlier. The old family there had once had a whole box of Eggshell Glaze Porcelain, but since none of them knew its value, the precious porcelain was either lost or broken, leaving just one piece, which Huo Sining had snagged with her quick eyes and hands. Otherwise, even that piece might have been reduced to shards.

Thinking about how the old man’s wife was given a whole box of porcelain as a dowry, only to end up with nothing, Huo Sining felt heartache. This further strengthened her resolve to quickly get hold of this tea set to avoid any nightmares about losing it.

In her eagerness to get that porcelain set, Huo Sining shared the same thought as the Old Granny, and they quickly agreed to go fetch the tea set from her home.

Seeing this, Huo Sining took Qibao by the hand to leave, yet she couldn’t move the stubborn child.

Huo Sining quickly looked down at Qibao, only to find that the child’s gaze was fixed on Lu Huairu, who was leisurely drinking tea by the stove, unmoving with a somewhat peculiar expression.

”Qibao, what’s wrong?”

Curious, Huo Sining couldn’t help but ask.

Qibao snapped out of it, looked at Huo Sining, then back at the utterly relaxed Lu Huairu, and suddenly murmured in a low voice: ”I think I’ve seen that grandpa somewhere before.”

”What did you say?” Qibao’s voice was faint, and Huo Sining didn’t hear clearly and instinctively asked again.

The little one shook his head repeatedly, unwilling to speak further.

Huo Sining was focused on the tea set at the Old Granny’s house and didn’t have the energy to ponder a child’s thoughts. Seeing Qibao wasn’t willing to continue, she didn’t mind and led him out of the shop.

Yin Zeyan was also interested in the Mao Porcelain tea set. Although the Old Granny didn’t invite him, he tagged along quietly with Huo Sining and the others.

Meanwhile, Lu Huairu continued drinking tea, seemingly indifferent to everything that had transpired in the room. But just as Huo Sining turned to leave, he suddenly looked up, his gaze landing on the child being led by Huo Sining, and met the eyes of the child, puzzlement rife within them.

They locked eyes for three seconds, and suddenly, he hooked the corner of his mouth, revealing an extremely enigmatic smile to the child.
