Reborn As Super Heiress

”Something in the teapot?”

Master Gu was taken aback and instinctively looked at the waist drum teapot in Marshal Lu’s hand.

Huo Sining smiled faintly beside him, without offering any explanation.

Marshal Lu cast an appreciative glance at Huo Sining. If it were an ordinary family’s child being praised like that in such a setting, they would probably be on cloud nine. However, Huo Sining remained calm, showing that this child had a much more stable temperament than most children.

Marshal Lu left everyone hanging, piquing the curiosity of those around him. Everyone was intently watching the waist drum teapot in his hand, trying to guess what was inside.

Seeing the eager faces of the crowd, Marshal Lu didn’t drag it out any further. He directly opened the lid of the waist drum teapot and took out a few paper packets from inside.

Before Master Gu could ask, Marshal Lu opened one of the paper packets, revealing the black-brown tea leaves. As soon as he opened it, a rich tea aroma filled the air.

”I smelled it as soon as I got this teapot. The tea leaves have a strong aroma, and the color is vibrant. Just the smell tells me it’s something good.”

Marshal Lu picked up one of the tea leaves, sniffed it, and immediately showed a look of delight. Clearly, he was fond of these tea leaves.

As soon as Master Gu heard this, he panicked and snatched the packets away to protect them in his arms: ”Old Lu, don’t even think about these tea leaves!”

Marshal Lu looked at Master Gu with dissatisfaction: ”You just called me Brother Lu, and now you’re calling me old man? What’s the matter with you? You can give me this tea set, but you’re upset over a few tea leaves? So, the things you give away are those you don’t care for, but you can’t part with the ones you do like?”

”That’s a different matter altogether. You want tea leaves? You lack nothing! This is a gift from my granddaughter-in-law. If you want some, go ask your granddaughter-in-law!”

Master Gu bluntly refused Marshal Lu’s request.

Master Gu didn’t care for antiques but had two hobbies: playing chess and tasting tea. When Huo Sining gifted him a set of Hetian Jade chess pieces, it delighted him for a long time. This time, the tea leaves were right up his alley too. As soon as he caught the fragrance, he adored them and couldn’t bear to give such a treasure away.

However, as soon as Master Gu said this, Song Chunxue, sitting at one side of the banquet hall, felt conflicted. These two old men bickering was one thing, but how did it involve her? She knew very well what kind of temper Master Lu had. Others might take Master Gu’s words as a joke, but Marshal Lu would surely take it seriously.

Her grandfather was very particular. If these tea leaves caught his eye and earned such high praise, it proved that they weren’t ordinary. Moreover, since Huo brought them, they were probably not easily found. How could she possibly get her hands on something like this?

Noticing Song Chunxue’s conflict, Huo Sining suddenly interrupted the old men’s quarrel:

”Old masters, no need to argue. I just harvested the first batch of these tea leaves last year. If Master Lu really likes them, I can pick the second batch this spring. Once I process them, I’ll send them over. They will definitely be Pre-Qingming Gu Yu tea, even more fragrant than these.”

When Huo Sining said this, Master Gu and Master Lu both paused and looked at her in surprise: ”Are you saying you processed these tea leaves yourself?”

Huo Sining nodded and smiled: ”The tea trees are also planted by me. There are four strains: Longjing, Da Hong Pao, Oolong, and Tieguanyin. They are all Old Pile Imperial Teas. The quantity harvested annually is small, but the quality is exceptional and indeed more fragrant than ordinary tea leaves.”

While saying this, Huo Sining subtly signaled Wu Jun standing on one side. Wu Jun immediately fetched a pot of hot water from a server nearby. Huo Sining deftly cleared the tea packets from the teapot, cleaned the waist drum teapot, then put a small handful of Da Hong Pao into it, while Wu Jun gently poured hot water over it.

The boiling water poured over the tea leaves, and in no time, the brewed tea turned a rich color with a mellow aroma wafting through the steam, intoxicating and delightful.

Those who appreciated tea immediately recognized the unique fragrance. Master Gu and Marshal Lu, both tea enthusiasts, could naturally discern the distinct allure of this fragrance compared to other teas. They exchanged a glance, seeing the zeal in each other’s eyes.

This tea was definitely something exquisite!

”Huo, how much of this tea do you have left?” Marshal Lu immediately asked. ”Whatever you have, the old man wants it all! Thirty thousand per pound!”

”That’s not acceptable, let him have a bit to taste, but the rest is mine. When you marry Gu Xu, grandpa will gift you a nice house!”

Huo Sining: ”...”

The onlookers were dumbfounded. Initially, when Marshal Lu took out those few packets of tea from the waist drum teapot, everyone was dismissive, thinking that Huo Sining was merely catering to Master Gu’s tastes by finding him a few packets of tea. They didn’t really pay attention to those tea leaves. However, seeing Master Gu and Marshal Lu sparring over those unremarkable packets and even bickering, they realized something was amiss.

Even the best Mount Wuyi Da Hong Pao on the market was only a few thousand per pound. A few years ago, the oldest preserved Ancient Tea Tree Da Hong Pao was once auctioned for a staggering nineteen thousand, a news story that was widely reported. However, after the national ban on Da Hong Pao picking, genuine Da Hong Pao became increasingly rare.

Huo Sining’s tea leaves, which she planted, harvested, and processed herself, couldn’t possibly compare to authentic Mount Wuyi Da Hong Pao. What made them so special that Marshal Lu would offer such an outrageous thirty thousand per pound?

Everyone couldn’t figure it out. Some overthinking individuals even suspected that perhaps Marshal Lu was deliberately favoring the Gu Family’s granddaughter-in-law, Huo Sining, in front of so many guests.

Only Huo Sining understood the true allure of these tea leaves. In fact, she had put a lot of effort into their production. Most importantly, during the process from planting to picking to processing, the Spiritual Energy of the Azure Pearl played a crucial role, giving the tea a unique aroma that ordinary tea leaves simply couldn’t match.
