Reborn As Super Heiress

Entering the backstage, Huo Sining followed the names Han Wen had given her earlier and found the makeup artist responsible for her makeup.

”Sister Liu, hello, I’m Huo Sining. Director Han asked me to come to you for styling.”

However, at this moment, the makeup artist named Sister Liu was busy doing makeup for another actress. As Huo Sining walked over, the makeup artist appeared somewhat impatient: ”Wait over there first; everyone is in line.”

Huo Sining originally didn’t require much makeup, but Han Wen paid attention to details. On stage, under strong spotlights, if not wearing makeup, a person’s complexion could appear very pale and unsightly, so all performers needed makeup.

The rehearsals had already started, and Huo Sining was the tenth to go on stage. They had already called the fourth person, and in half an hour, it would probably be Huo Sining’s turn.

Yet, Sister Liu was only focused on tending to the actress under her hands, appearing extremely busy and not paying any attention to Huo Sining.

Huo Sining recognized that actress; she often appeared on screens both big and small, indicating a high status in the entertainment world. However, the actress looked at Huo Sining with unfriendly eyes, obviously influenced by Wu Jingyi and holding a prejudice against Huo Sining.

Huo Sining wasn’t good at explanations, nor would she flatter people like this for approval. After waiting for three minutes and seeing that the makeup artist had no intention of acknowledging her, she didn’t continue to entangle and turned to head to the restroom.

As Huo Sining left, the actress and Sister Liu exchanged a look, both revealing expressions of disdain.

Huo Sining didn’t care about the expressions of the people in the backstage makeup room. She had her own plans. For her magic show look this time, she didn’t intend to let the stylist or makeup artist take the lead. Since the makeup artist didn’t intend to participate, she didn’t insist and simply handled it herself.

In the restroom, Huo Sining quickly changed into the clothes she had prepared earlier, took a set of her usual backup cosmetics from her storage ring, and began applying makeup swiftly.

With the spiritual energy of the Azure Pearl protecting her, Huo Sining’s skin had become smoother and more delicate. Or as Su Lan said, some kind of special gene in her body had awakened, causing the pores on her skin to gradually disappear. Combined with the high-quality cosmetics Huo Sining used, just a little enhancement made her look very beautiful.

However, Huo Sining didn’t forget Han Wen’s instructions. On stage, under strong lighting, facial features could easily become blurred. To make them appear three-dimensional, heavy makeup was necessary.

Twenty minutes wasn’t long, but for Huo Sining, it was enough. After finishing the last step and looking at the person in the mirror, she couldn’t help but curl her lips in satisfaction, packing everything back into the Space.

”Sister An Rong, this move of yours is really brilliant. Making Sister Liu not do makeup for that woman, she won’t be able to complete her styling. Let’s see how she faces going on stage! Hmph!”

Just as Huo Sining opened the stall door to leave, she suddenly heard three people chatting and laughing as they walked toward the restroom. One of the voices was that of Wu Jingyi, who had been gloating in the corner of the backstage makeup room earlier.

Upon hearing this, Huo Sining paused for a moment and incanted an incantation, quickly hiding her figure.

The actress listened to Wu Jingyi’s words and couldn’t help but chuckle slightly: ”Ada, what are you saying? I don’t understand. When did I tell Sister Liu not to do makeup for any woman?”

”Exactly, Sister An Rong never instructed me to do such a thing,” Sister Liu chimed in.

Hearing Sister Liu’s words, Wu Jingyi hurriedly covered her mouth and laughed, ”Yes, yes, I misspoke. Sister An Rong, you’re so gracious and kind, how could you do such a thing? Blame that Huo Sining for being late herself. She didn’t show up at the appointed time, leaving the makeup artist too busy. Who can blame her?”

Listening to this in the restroom, Huo Sining couldn’t help but sneer. She had suspected that something was up with the makeup artist; it turned out An Rong was pulling strings behind the scenes.

Huo Sining had finished her makeup and didn’t plan to argue with these people. She intended to leave the restroom once the two entered the stalls. Unexpectedly, An Rong deliberately delayed the makeup artist, preventing Huo Sining from going on stage on time. And there was an even worse scheme brewing.

”People like this aren’t worthy of me making a move. But you’ve suffered such a great loss at her hands. I can’t stand by and watch. Since we’re in the same company, if I don’t help you, someone might accuse me of not guiding newcomers as a senior. Since you call me sister, I really must get this bad taste out for you!”

The woman named An Rong glanced at Wu Jingyi and Sister Liu, toyed with her fingers for a moment, and suddenly spoke.

Wu Jingyi’s eyes lit up and she looked at An Rong in surprise, ”Sister An Rong, you mean...”

”This is the last rehearsal, and Director Han takes it very seriously. Even if we delay her for a while, she’ll still have to go on stage when her time comes. Since that’s the case, having Sister Liu do her makeup isn’t a big deal.”

An Rong’s features were exquisite and beautiful, and as she spoke, there was a smile on her face. However, no matter how one looked, the smile carried some shades of insincerity and malice. Anyone familiar with An Rong knew that when she wore this expression, it meant someone was in trouble.

Although Wu Jingyi didn’t interact much with An Rong, she was in the same company. She knew very well that An Rong wasn’t a kind-hearted person and couldn’t possibly let Huo Sining off so easily.

Indeed, An Rong’s next words made Wu Jingyi’s body flood with excitement and delight.

”Every woman loves beauty. To go on stage, makeup is indispensable. Since Director Han instructed it, this is Sister Liu’s job and shouldn’t be neglected. I have a set of top-tier cosmetics imported from France, Sister Liu, use this set of cosmetics for Miss Huo.”

After An Rong spoke, Wu Jingyi didn’t quite understand what she meant, but Sister Liu couldn’t help but look up in shock.

”Sister An Rong, this... is a bit too much. If that set of cosmetics is used, in less than two days, Huo Sining’s face will really be unpresentable.”

Sister Liu hesitated upon hearing this. She was willing to delay Huo Sining’s time because it wasn’t something too excessive, and even Han Wen couldn’t find fault with her. But using problematic cosmetics was not a simple matter of neglecting her duties.
