Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1113: Chapter 1109: Add a Few More Seats

Huo Sining’s face immediately displayed a shocked expression.

She had previously speculated that Han Wen might invite her to watch the Spring Festival Gala live, but she never expected to be asked to perform on stage.

It was Su Qingqing, beside her, who reacted first: ”Director Han, haven’t you started selecting the Spring Festival Gala programs months ago? It’s almost the final rehearsal now, and the programs are already set. Why are you only reaching out to our Ningning now?”

Su Qingqing’s words were blunt, causing Han Wen’s expression to falter a bit. He looked at Huo Sining awkwardly: ”And this is?”

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”This is my cousin, Su Qingqing.”

”Hello, Miss Su.”

Han Wen nodded and glanced at Su Qingqing before explaining, ”By this time, the production team has indeed almost finalized all the program processes. However, there was an unexpected incident with this year’s magic performance. The magician we had confirmed was involved in a car accident and is currently in the hospital undergoing emergency treatment. It’s uncertain if he’ll regain consciousness, but he certainly can’t participate in the live Spring Festival Gala, so we’ve decided to replace the magic performance last minute.”

”Was the magician you chose Louis?” Upon hearing Han Wen’s explanation, Su Qingqing immediately asked.

Han Wen nodded: ”Yes, last year Liu Qian’s magic performance was quite good. Originally, we intended to invite him again this year, but there were some objections within the domestic magic circle. After some discussion, we selected this emerging domestic magician. He’s been working hard, but unfortunately, he’s had some bad luck and can’t make it to the Spring Festival Gala.”

Huo Sining also felt sorry for the emerging magician, but she was more puzzled: ”Even if there’s an issue with the newbie magician, your production team should have backups. Why choose me?”

Han Wen smiled and said, ”You’re right. We did consider several alternative magic performances. In fact, Miss Huo, I hadn’t seen your performance before. But yesterday in my office, two people simultaneously recommended you to me, suggesting that your magic skills are a cut above Louis’.”

”Two people?” Huo Sining was taken aback.

Han Wen nodded: ”Yes, one of them you probably know, is Chen Yu. Chen Yu has been following up on the Spring Festival Gala program scheduling. Upon hearing the magician had issues, she immediately thought of you.”

”The other one is Liu Chunying, a director from our team. After watching the online video of your magic performance, where you made someone vanish, she was very impressed and reported it to me. Coincidentally, her recommendation matched Chen Yu’s. That’s when I watched your performance at the S University’s welcome gala.”

”And what did you think?” Su Qingqing asked, concerned.

Han Wen’s smile faded into seriousness: ”Honestly, I have always held a big prejudice against domestic magicians because the domestic magic scene has been stagnant for years, lacking boldness and innovation, making it neither hot nor able to appear on the international stage.”

”I’ve witnessed David Copperfield’s magic performances live, which are truly soul-stirring magic artistry, leading one to exclaim from the heart that this is the ultimate fusion of human imagination and art.”

”Having seen such extreme performances, looking back at domestic magic shows felt like watching clowns. But yesterday, after watching Miss Huo’s performance, I’ve changed my perspective. I saw a shadow of David Copperfield in Miss Huo, perhaps not yet mature, but I believe with Miss Huo’s talent, you could one day grace the global stage with your magic.”

Such high praise made Huo Sining’s face warm and a bit guilty. Her so-called talent was entirely reliant on a cheat device. Without that storage ring as a medium, her magic skills were nothing. Conquering the world stage with her magic seemed far-fetched and ridiculous to her.

Without hesitation, Huo Sining wanted to refuse. She was aware of her own limits and didn’t want to mislead people.

But just as she started to say, ”Director Han, I’m afraid I can’t—”

She was interrupted by Han Wen.

As astute as Han Wen was, recognizing Huo Sining as a trump card from her interactions with Chen Yu, she had guessed Huo Sining had great relationships with the Lu, Qin, and Zhou families, evidenced by Zhou Shitao’s easy agreement. This indicated the girl was highly valued by these families.

Although Han Wen didn’t know the exact nature of Huo Sining’s relations with these families, she quickly deduced that they valued and loved Huo Sining, indicating she must also highly respect and cherish these elders.

Therefore, she decided to take a two-pronged approach.

”This Spring Festival Gala, we’ve invited Chief Lu’s family, Qin Lianshan and his wife, Zhou Shitao and his wife, as well as the elder couple from the Gu Family. These elder figures are attending the Gala live for the first time, and I think they’d very much like to see Miss Huo perform magic on stage.”

Han Wen’s eyes sparkled as she made this statement, planning to put everything on the line, betting that Huo Sining would be willing to make a little sacrifice for these elders.

Sure enough, she was right. Upon hearing this, both Huo Sining and Su Qingqing were taken aback.

Huo Sining looked at Han Wen in astonishment: ”They all agreed?”

Han Wen nodded: ”Yes, I even boasted to them that I would certainly persuade Miss Huo to perform on stage.”

Hearing this, Huo Sining was both amused and helpless. She was defenseless against Han Wen’s tactic. Those elder people, whom she respected deeply, were willing to spend New Year’s Eve at the television station just to watch her perform. How could she refuse Han Wen’s invitation and let those elders down?

Feeling somewhat resigned, Huo Sining took over ten seconds before she looked up at Han Wen: ”I agree to perform magic, but I have one condition.”

Han Wen nodded, having already learned from Chen Yu that this girl also ran a jewelry company. Prepared for a business-minded negotiation, Han Wen was ready to concede to demands, even if Huo Sining requested a commercial airtime during the golden segment of the Spring Festival Gala. However, she was stunned by Huo Sining’s actual request.

”On the live day of the Spring Festival Gala, could you arrange a few more seats for me?” Huo Sining requested.
