Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1112: Chapter 1108: An Uninvited Guest

After getting what they needed, Su Qingqing still hadn’t resolved the issue on her end. Feeling helpless, Huo Sining followed Su Qingqing to the Antique Street, where they searched around the street and barely found an item that seemed presentable to Huo Sining.

This finally made Su Qingqing happy. Eagerly clutching the item, she rushed towards the school. Feeling helpless, Huo Sining drove back, but before she even reached the villa district, she received a call from a stranger.

”Is this Miss Huo? I’m Han Wen, the one who called you yesterday.”

A woman’s voice came through from the other end of the phone.

Huo Sining was taken aback, still thinking such scammers were getting more daring. One call didn’t trick any money out, and yet they kept calling for days. Just as she was about to scold, she thought again and realized something was off. This call wasn’t from a number starting with 010; it was a cellphone number, indicating it was a personal call.

At this moment, the person on the other side, fearing rejection, continued:

”I caught an early flight to S City this morning. I’m currently at the gate of the Lake Mountain Villa District where you live, but the security says you need to call the guard office for me to enter. Are you at home now?”

At this point, Huo Sining realized something was wrong. If it were a scammer, they definitely wouldn’t show up in person, let alone travel all the way from the Imperial Capital to S City. Could this person really be Han Wen?

Huo Sining’s mouth shaped into an ”O” in surprise. After a few seconds, she replied, ”I’m outside right now. I’ll be home soon. Please wait in the guard room for a while.”

After hanging up, Huo Sining grabbed Su Qingqing, who was driving. Seeing the shocked expression on Huo Sining’s face, Su Qingqing was a bit puzzled: ”What’s up? Just a phone call surprised you to this extent? Did you win the lottery?”

”No,” Huo Sining hesitated, unsure how to explain, ”Yesterday, I received two phone calls, one claiming to be Liu Chunying and the other claiming to be Han Wen, saying they were from the Spring Festival Gala program group. I thought they were scammers, didn’t listen to what they wanted, directly cursed at them, and hung up. But just now, that Han Wen called again, saying she flew in from the Imperial Capital and is now at the gate of the Lake Mountain Villa.

Su Qingqing was so surprised that she almost lost her grip on the steering wheel, slamming on the brakes and turning her head to look at Huo Sining in shock: ”What did you say? Han Wen? The renowned director of the Spring Festival Gala?”

Huo Sining scratched the back of her head: ”Seems like it. The Spring Festival Gala program group shouldn’t have two people named Han Wen, right? This name isn’t that common.”

Su Qingqing was speechless: ”Is that the point? What I’m asking is, as a director of the Spring Festival Gala, nearing the end of the year, she should be incredibly busy. Why would she come to S City to find you? Don’t you think it’s very strange?”

Huo Sining nodded: ”Strange, indeed. That’s why when I received the call yesterday, I thought it was a scam and hung up immediately. Why would Han Wen suddenly come looking for me? It’s really puzzling.”

Su Qingqing smirked, a glimmer of intrigue in her eyes: ”It’s not strange. I think I know why she’s looking for you.”

”Why?” Huo Sining asked, curious.

Su Qingqing smiled mysteriously, intentionally keeping Huo Sining in suspense: ”I bet it’s a good thing. Since that’s the case, I won’t go back to school. I’ll accompany you to meet this famous Spring Festival Gala director!”

The car sped all the way to the Lake Mountain Villa District, arriving in just a few minutes. As soon as they got out of the car, Huo Sining saw a woman in the guard house sitting in a pavilion, peering outside. Upon seeing Huo Sining get out of the car, the woman immediately stood up, her eyes lighting up.

Behind her, Su Qingqing quietly said after seeing the woman’s face, ”Not a scammer. I’ve seen an interview with Han Wen in the newspaper, and the woman in the article looks at least seventy to eighty percent similar to this person. It should be her.”

Huo Sining nodded slightly and walked over to the woman, extending her hand with a smile: ”Director Han, I’m really sorry. I didn’t know you were coming; otherwise, I would have welcomed you personally.”

The woman also extended her hand and shook Huo Sining’s, her eyes scanning Huo Sining up and down: ”No worries. I came unannounced and intruded. I hope you don’t mind?”

Huo Sining laughed and said, ”Not at all. It’s an honor that you took time out of your busy schedule to come all the way here to find me. Shall we go inside and talk?”

Han Wen nodded, the curiosity and probing in her eyes dissipating, her gaze becoming calm. She followed Huo Sining into the car, and the vehicle drove into the neighborhood, stopping in front of a small villa.

They got out of the car and entered the villa. Auntie Li wasn’t there, so Huo Sining had to prepare tea and snacks herself. After washing her hands and sitting down, Han Wen got straight to the point.

”I found out your address from Chen Yu. I came all this way to ask for your help on behalf of Sister Han.”

Hearing Chen Yu’s words, Han Wen, upon arriving in this villa district and seeing the house where the girl lived, gained a more direct sense of the young lady’s background. She thus adopted a very humble attitude, completely devoid of her usual air of superiority.

Huo Sining was a bit surprised at how familiar Han Wen seemed, and how close and peaceful she was. In her view, having organized several Spring Festival Galas, Han Wen’s title as chief director was widely known. Normally, with such achievements, people inevitably exude some arrogance and pride. But Han Wen was completely different from what she imagined.

Of course, Huo Sining didn’t think that because of Han Wen’s humble attitude she was necessarily someone worth associating with. Since Han Wen could learn her address from Chen Yu, it showed that Han Wen and Chen Yu had an unusual relationship. With that connection, it wasn’t difficult for Han Wen to find out her identity through Chen Yu.

If someone treats beggars and servants the same as people with power and wealth, maintaining a steady heart regardless of gain or loss, that person is a true gentleman. However, Huo Sining now could only see one side of Han Wen, and she couldn’t directly judge the person’s character.

Of course, Han Wen’s character wasn’t really important to Huo Sining. What she wanted to know now was what kind of help this person, having traveled all the way to the Magic Capital, actually needed from her.

”Go ahead, if it’s something I can do, I won’t refuse.”

Han Wen smiled and said, ”You can definitely do it. Here’s the thing: our Spring Festival Gala program team, after watching your magic performance at your school’s welcome gala last year, was really impressed. So, our program team sincerely invites you to come to CCTV and participate in the live broadcast of the Spring Festival Gala to perform your magic act.”
