Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1121: Chapter 1117: Want Some News?

Of course, regardless of whether it’s my imagination or not, Huo Sining is definitely taking the fall here, especially seeing Huo Sining’s smooth sailing journey. Yao Yujia feels increasingly uneasy, always thinking that Huo Sining stole her sister’s boyfriend shamelessly, leveraged the Gu Family to climb up, and now has the Spring Festival Gala open a back door for her.

Yao Yujia believes that if it weren’t for Huo Sining’s interference, both she and her sister would have already married into a wealthy family. So, she naturally considers Huo Sining a thorn in her side, and she will spare no effort to add trouble to Huo Sining or make her uncomfortable in any way possible.

Now, upon hearing that the magician set for the Spring Festival Gala had an accident, Yao Yujia immediately realizes that the replacement is probably Huo Sining. And the program Huo Sining will perform is most likely the very same person-morphing trick she did at the S University welcome party.

Leaving the TV station, Yao Yujia took out her phone and made a call.

”Reporter Cao, what have you been busy with lately?” As soon as the call connected, Yao Yujia asked with a smile.

The person on the other end was quite surprised to receive a call from Yao Yujia: ”Hi, what else can I be busy with? It’s almost New Year, just racking my brains trying to grab a headline, right? All year round, and I can’t catch a single headline, the chief editor’s been scolding us. If this continues, I fear the year-end bonus is doomed.”

Hearing this, Yao Yujia laughed and asked, ”It’s just a headline, is it necessary to go to such lengths? Aren’t reporters supposed to create news even when there’s none?”

The person on the other end laughed wryly: ”What you said isn’t wrong, but now that it’s the year’s end, we can’t even find material. We want to create eye-catching news but can’t, so we’re just anxious. Just yesterday we went to support a minor star, and guess what, after releasing a press article, there wasn’t even a sound, nobody cared at all. Now in the entertainment industry, trying to make it big really isn’t easy. Even the reporters and fans have to rely on spending money. Without some savings, one might just end up hanging around the fringes, surviving on the cold northwestern wind and waiting for death.”

At this point, the person paused, as if remembering something, and suddenly changed the topic, asking: ”Speaking of which, it’s almost the year’s end; isn’t your TV station busy too? You should be off soon, right? What made you think of calling me?”

Yao Yujia didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point: ”I just saw how tough it’s been for you gathering news material at year’s end, and I happened to come across something big. Thinking about our good relationship, I’m rushing to bring you some big news.”

Upon hearing this, Reporter Cao immediately perked up, eagerly asking, ”Big news? What big news?”

Yao Yujia chuckled, ”Do you know about the car accident that happened to the magic circle’s new star Louis?”

Reporter Cao replied, ”I think I’ve heard about it, but isn’t this magician not really in the entertainment circle? At most, he’d be tangentially related, so we don’t really follow that. Why? How does this news relate to the magician?”

Yao Yujia nodded: ”That’s right, what I’m about to tell you indeed relates to Louis. Originally, Louis was the magician hired for this year’s CCTV Spring Festival Gala. He was selected after several rounds of selection for his magic performance. But, as luck would have it, this magician got into a car accident right before the final rehearsal for the Spring Festival Gala, so there’s no way he’ll be able to perform the magic act now.”

Being a journalist, Reporter Cao quickly sensed something significant behind this car accident and immediately asked, ”Since Louis got into a car accident, who is taking the spot for the magic program?”

In Yao Yujia’s eyes, a look of admiration appeared towards Cao Yuwen. This person is sharp; she only provided a few clues, and Cao Yuwen immediately grasped what she intended to say. Such professional acumen, it’s no wonder he became an entertainment journalist.

”The big news I’m about to tell you is precisely about this replacement. I just got some insider news from the TV station. The magician replacing Louis is that female sophomore student from the S University Department of Biology, who starred in the breakout human video that surfaced a year ago. Her name seems to be Huo Sining.”

Upon hearing Yao Yujia’s words, Cao Yuwen’s eyes immediately brightened: ”Are you sure? Is this information accurate?”

”It should be correct. I just saw this Huo Sining at CCTV, and Han Wen even personally came down to greet her, along with another program group director Liu Chunying. They were very enthusiastic towards Huo Sining and led her upstairs. I suspect they were taking her to the Spring Festival Gala stage to rehearse. I feel this news is probably 80 to 90 percent true.”

Yao Yujia squinted her eyes and continued to entice Cao Yuwen.

Sure enough, Cao Yuwen was immediately very excited: ”You mean to say, this Huo Sining is still inside the CCTV building?”

”Yes,” Yao Yujia confirmed.

Instantly, Cao Yuwen got up from his chair: ”Alright then, for us entertainment reporters, we have to catch onto the slightest clue, let alone something that’s 80 to 90 percent certain. With an 80-90% confidence, it’s like catching fish in a barrel; I can directly nail this down! Miss Yao, I’ll remember this favor, and later I’ll definitely take you out for a treat!”

Saying that, Cao Yuwen urgently hung up the phone, grabbed his SLR camera, and rushed out of the café, driving straight towards CCTV.

However, Cao Yuwen didn’t have a work badge or know anyone to take him into the TV station, so he chose to camp outside the station. He parked his car at a spot where he wouldn’t be seen but could still capture footage, then set up his camera to get ready to capture the target.

Meanwhile, Huo Sining arrived at the CCTV studio hall with Han Wen, where several program directors were already waiting. Although she was highly recommended by Chen Yu and Liu Chunying, Huo Sining still needed to showcase her abilities in front of the directors to prove whether her program could pass their approval, thus determining if she was suitable to perform on stage.

The CCTV studio hall felt completely different from the small stage at S University. The sound, lighting, and camera positions were much more advanced than the simple equipment at S University. Luckily, Huo Sining wasn’t fazed. She took a moment to get accustomed to the stage size, took a few tentative steps to find her bearings, then nodded towards Han Wen.

Over there, Han Wen was planning to prepare some props for Huo Sining, when Liu Chunying laughed from the side, ”Director Han, you’re such an amateur. Magician’s props are all prepared by themselves. The tricks inside are only known to the magician, and they can’t be revealed to others, or else the magic would be exposed and the performance would flop.”
