Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1116: Chapter 1112: Who Is Ada

Huo Sining herself wasn’t that interested in the entertainment industry. Moreover, she had been in Dongdu recently, making her even more disconnected from the ever-changing entertainment scene in the country. When she saw the name on the sign, Huo Sining didn’t recognize it at all, and couldn’t figure out which celebrity’s English name was Ada, so she shook her head and turned away without paying any more attention to it.

Han Wen laughed, ”By the look of you, you don’t seem to be a star-chaser either. Normally, at your age, it should be the time to be crazy about celebrities. How come you seem a bit different from other girls your age?”

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”I’m also a star-chaser, but the stars I chase are a bit different from those other girls chase.”

Han Wen couldn’t help but laugh, ”You too? Who do you chase?”

Huo Sining pointed to herself, ”I chase myself, pursuing each new goal, chasing the next version of myself. Isn’t that also a form of alternative idol worship?”

Han Wen looked at Huo Sining with an unprecedented appreciation and recognition. What Huo Sining said was exactly what Han Wen had in mind.

Han Wen never chased stars either. In her eyes, this kind of star-chasing was foolish and brainless. No matter what you do, those stars would only keep their distance, doing superficial gestures for their fans but never truly having any feelings for them.

Instead of doing these unrealistic things, it’s better to save time and energy for oneself, to study more and hone one’s skills, striving to improve oneself. When you’ve succeeded in reaching that level, or even higher, those stars will naturally come chasing you. There’s no need to toil painstakingly to pursue them.

Of course, even if Han Wen agreed with this sentiment, she wouldn’t really say it out loud. She gave Huo Sining a knowing smile and suddenly pointed over there, asking, ”Do you know who this Ada is?”

Huo Sining shook her head. Han Wen, uncharacteristically gossipy, said, ”A small celebrity who just debuted, without works or skills, not from a professional background. Tsk tsk, but this one is quite clever. I heard she latched onto a playboy from a Hereditary family in the Imperial Capital. That playboy spared no expense to boost her, even spending a lot of money recently to get her into the Spring Festival Gala’s crew. She’s got the looks, but her singing... well...”

Huo Sining understood, ”So she didn’t make the cut?”

Han Wen shook her head, ”No way. If she were really cut, that playboy would definitely make a fuss. To keep things quiet, the production team gave her a minor role in a skit. She doesn’t really need any acting skills, just say a few lines and show her face, enough to keep that playboy satisfied.”

Huo Sining smiled at Han Wen, ”What kind of status does this playboy have that you’re so afraid of him?”

Han Wen sighed, ”In terms of status, definitely not on par with the Gu Family, but still a prominent family in the Imperial Capital. That playboy is nothing, but his grandfather, even our station chief has to show some respect. Don’t be fooled by how glamorous it is to be a director; here, we just have to obediently follow orders.”

This might also be an important reason for Han Wen’s pursuit of power and status. As a director, yet only able to be manipulated, her role seemed glamorous on the surface, but internally it was very frustrating. To rid herself of this puppet status, she must exhaust all means to secure external support, networking with a few influential aristocrats. With someone backing her up, she could stand tall and speak without worry of being questioned or contradicted.

Huo Sining isn’t someone with a simple mind and knows that many things at the TV station aren’t decided by the program directors. Han Wen’s words sounded easy-going, but the underlying turbulent undercurrents only she could understand.

Thinking about how this woman worked her way to this position in just over a decade, the hardships outsiders couldn’t fathom, yet it was possible to imagine the ups and downs.

Thinking of this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh. She was about to comfort Han Wen with a few words when suddenly the arrivals gate erupted with a series of piercing screams. The sharp, ear-piercing sounds made Huo Sining and the three others, standing less than ten meters away from the gate, involuntarily frown.

”Judging by the commotion, Ada must be coming out soon. Let’s not stand here. Once those fans go crazy, it wouldn’t be safe. Let’s go.”

Seeing the fans jumping and yelling frantically, Han Wen knew that the little celebrity was about to exit the gate and quickly pulled Huo Sining and the others to leave.

”Ada, Ada, I love you!”

”Ada, Ada, I love you!”

The voices rose higher and higher. The fans screamed as a slender woman slowly stepped out of the gate.

Han Wen couldn’t help but shake her head, ”These kids, they can easily say they love a stranger, but they don’t have that heart for their own parents.”

Huo Sining chuckled, following behind Gu Xu as they walked out. As she walked, she subconsciously turned to look back and her gaze landed right on the celebrity stepping out from the gate.

It was coincidental; the celebrity had been wearing a pair of large sunglasses that completely covered her face, leaving only her nose and chin visible, making it impossible to see her features. But at the moment Huo Sining turned her head, the celebrity reached out and removed those sunglasses.

With curls flying, a breathtaking face with exquisite features appeared, complemented by a long red cloak, accentuating her slender and graceful figure.

The moment the female star took off her glasses, the fans went completely wild. If not for the airport security blocking them, the fans would have swarmed the actress, and the photographers were furiously pressing their shutters.

Huo Sining was stunned on the spot until Gu Xu noticed she hadn’t caught up and turned back to hold her hand, interlocking fingers, and asked her, ”What’s wrong?”

Huo Sining snapped back to reality, shaking her head with a self-deprecating smile, ”It’s nothing, just thought that little star looked quite pretty, sort of familiar.”

Han Wen heard this and laughed, ”The entertainment industry is full of pretty female stars. This Ada is at most of average beauty. If she hadn’t found a playboy to back her up, it would have been hard for her to have a long-term career in this industry with her looks. You finding her familiar isn’t surprising; there are many celebrities in the industry with similar faces. You might just be mixing her up with someone else.”

Huo Sining nodded absentmindedly, but inside she was extremely shocked, not because of anything but because this Ada was someone she was very familiar with. In her previous life, she died at this person’s hands, ending up with her belly slashed, heart gouged, and her body sunk in the sea—a tragic end. This person was deeply imprinted in her mind. Even having been reborn seven years back, she would never mistake this person or confuse her face with anyone else’s.

Indeed, this woman called Ada was Wu Jingyi!
