Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1118: Chapter 1114: Do Tibetan Mastiffs Eat Vegetarian Food Too?

Huang Chengyi nodded and gestured to Huo Sining: ”I’ve tested it countless times, you can try it too.”

Huo Sining smirked and walked towards Heitan: ”Heitan, I’m here to take you home, are you coming with me?”

Heitan turned its head, its sturdy frame swaying to the other side, ignoring Huo Sining.

Huo Sining found it amusing, glanced at Gu Xu, and deliberately said: ”If it doesn’t want to go back with us, we can head back by ourselves and let it stay here.”

Saying that, Huo Sining winked at Gu Xu, and the two headed towards the door. They had barely taken a few steps when Heitan’s ears perked up. Just as Huo Sining was sliding the door latch to open the door and leave, Heitan suddenly sprang up from the ground and dashed to Huo Sining’s feet in a few strides, taking the lead to walk outside. As it walked, it rubbed against Huo Sining’s pant leg, as if it were acting coy.

Seeing this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but click her tongue in wonder and tested again: ”Heitan, you’ve stayed in their house for so long, they’ve treated you well, and now you’re just leaving without a word of thanks, isn’t that a bit rude?”

As soon as Huo Sining said this, Heitan paused, looked up at Huo Sining as if afraid she really might leave, and seeing Huo Sining and Gu Xu standing still, it reluctantly turned around and went back inside, barking a few times at Huang Chengyi and the others, as if saying it was leaving and thanking them for their hospitality.

Heitan’s behavior fully confirmed Huang Chengyi’s words, even Gu Xu’s eyes lit up, filled with surprise and calculation as he looked at Heitan:

”This guy is so smart, it would be great if it were a military dog, it would be a trump card in the army. Such a good breed, must use it for breeding. Once it has pups, let someone from the military district train them.”

Huo Sining was a bit speechless; Heitan had just reached adulthood, and already so many were scheming about its offspring.

But this guy’s intelligence really was extraordinary, it was a good thing Huang Chengyi wasn’t suspicious, otherwise, if he did investigate, the mystery of this little guy’s origin would indeed be strange, and after a few inquiries, someone might start suspecting her, Huo Sining.

After bringing Heitan back, it immediately clung to Huo Sining; after playing with Qibao for a while, it ran back to follow at her heels.

Qibao also had a Spiritual Pearl, so although it was the first time Heitan met Qibao, it didn’t reject Qibao, at least not like it did with people like Su Qingqing or Huang Hanyun, not even letting them get close. Qibao could hug Heitan, even directly grab its ears and rub its head, and Heitan would only struggle a bit without getting truly angry at Qibao.

However, the Rock Spirit Bead’s aura is completely different from the Ice Spirit Bead. Heitan was accustomed to the Spiritual Pearl aura from Huo Sining, although it could also detect the difference in aura from Qibao, it wasn’t especially interested. After sniffing around Qibao for a while and playing a few rounds, it got bored, turned around, and once again flopped down at Huo Sining’s feet, ignoring Qibao’s calls.

Huo Sining found it amusing, even if this guy was smart, it probably couldn’t resist one temptation, which was spiritual energy. Even though Huo Sining had returned to the Imperial Capital, she didn’t have time to see it, and Heitan had not tasted the Spirit of Azure Pearl for three months, so once back, it followed Huo Sining closely, its longing and craving evident in its eyes.

But she didn’t have any of the fish bait biscuits she used to feed Heitan, and with no better option, Huo Sining had to go into the kitchen herself, mix some dough, bake a flatbread, and then throw it to Heitan.

This guy jumped up and caught the flatbread in its mouth, happily munching away, leaving Gu Xu dumbfounded.

”You... feed it this?”

Gu Xu pointed at the flatbread on the ground, a bit incredulous.

Huo Sining had an unfazed expression: ”Isn’t eating flatbread okay? The koi carp I keep at home eat this too.”

Gu Xu was instantly at a loss for words, speechless at heart. It was nothing strange for fish to eat flatbread, but this was a Tibetan Mastiff. Could it eat flatbread? Weren’t they supposed to eat raw meat? And this one was a Tibetan Mastiff King?

Seeing Heitan eating with such gusto as if it were a gourmet delicacy, Gu Xu’s eyes nearly popped out, with a bewildered expression, unable to understand Heitan’s diet. He also wondered if this big guy had a rough time at the Huang Family, imagining that over these months it might have just eaten flatbread, without tasting meat.

If Huang Chengyi knew Gu Xu was thinking this, he would probably explode on the spot.

Honestly, during these months Heitan was at the Huang Family, they treated it like an ancestor, serving it fresh beef and lamb from the slaughter market each day. Heitan was a glutton, eating four to five pounds of meat daily, costing hundreds each day, yet they never begrudged spending a penny.

Even so, not even Huang Chengyi realized that all his efforts to feed Heitan delicious meats, choosing the freshest, but in Heitan’s mind, the taste of those meats couldn’t compare to one of Huo Sining’s flatbreads.

Seeing Gu Xu’s sympathetic gaze cast upon him, Heitan didn’t forget to lift its head to give Gu Xu a contemptuous look in the midst of eating.

Such good food and he still showed disdain, truly ignorant, who said just this? Even if you give me meat now, I won’t like it.

Heitan ate quickly, the flatbread was soon finished off entirely, with even the crumbs licked clean by this fellow, and after eating, it didn’t forget to look at Huo Sining eagerly, its eyes locked on the pan she held.

”Uh...”

Gu Xu was truly dumbfounded by this scene, what was going on here? Could it be Tibetan Mastiffs had a time for eating vegetarian too?

Seeing Gu Xu’s perplexed expression, Huo Sining found it amusing too, but of course, she would never reveal the secret of the flatbread to Gu Xu, even if he was her man, no way.

After bringing Heitan back, the next morning, Huo Sining had Gu Xu take her and Heitan to find Han Wen. Upon reaching the TV station, Huo Sining called Han Wen because one can’t easily enter the station without a work permit or an acquaintance to bring them in.

Just as she was making the call, two people came in from outside, and Huo Sining inadvertently looked up, momentarily stunned.

One of those two was someone she knew, it was none other than Yao Yujia, the host often used by the show’s crew during the filming of ”Folk Treasure Hunt” a few months ago at the Imperial Capital TV Station.
