Reborn As Super Heiress

A group of people were quietly discussing in the banquet hall, and Huo Sining was listening nearby. Upon hearing the identity of the elder, she couldn’t help but show a look of surprise in her eyes.

”Old brother, how’s your health lately?” The crowd in the banquet hall was buzzing, but Master Gu was holding Chief Lu by the door, chatting endlessly.

”At this age, it’s neither here nor there. Look at me, I’m still followed by a whole group of people, aren’t I?” Master Lu pointed to the group of doctors behind him with a somewhat helpless look.

It wasn’t a pretense. This elder, given his age, had been in poor health for a while, and his condition had worsened recently. He had been recuperating in a nursing home. For Master Gu’s birthday, he insisted on coming to offer congratulations, refusing to listen to any dissuasion.

When Chief Lu decided to go out, it startled the entire nursing home. His influence was such that his move stirred not only the military and political committee, but also the central guard bureau. Upon hearing the news, Chief Lu himself rushed to the nursing home at once.

Unfortunately, Chief Lu’s persuasion was to no avail. He had always been famously stubborn since his youth. Once he made up his mind on something, no one could change it. Now that he’s older, he’s even less open to persuasion. He was resolute about coming to wish Master Gu a happy birthday, not heeding anyone’s words.

Chief Lu, feeling helpless, could only comply with his father’s request, leading a grand procession to the Gu Family to offer congratulations. He accompanied and attended himself, and even arranged for a team of specialist doctors to follow, ready to respond to any emergencies, fearing anything might go wrong.

Others were fine, but Master Gu truly felt sheer joy from the heart. Seeing his old comrade of more than half a century come in person, and looking quite spirited, Master Gu was sincerely glad for his old friend’s sake.

The two elders held hands and chatted for a while before Madam Gu reminded them from the side to bring the guests inside.

A few people helped each other through the door and sat down at the arranged positions. Just as they were about to introduce Chief Lu, the elder’s gaze suddenly shifted unwaveringly to Huo Sining. After pausing for three seconds, the elder suddenly asked, ”You’re Huo girl, aren’t you?”

Huo Sining was taken aback, then quickly nodded upon realizing.

Chief Lu immediately smiled, beckoning to Huo Sining, ”Young lady, come over here, let this old man take a look at you!”

Huo Sining, hearing this, instinctively looked at Gu Xu. Gu Xu gave her an encouraging glance, so Huo Sining stepped forward.

As she approached Chief Lu, the elder reached out and grasped her arm, looking her up and down, ”Rui Qi’s illness, you’re the one who cured it, right? Young girl, not bad, so young and already so skilled, not bad at all!”

Just as Huo Sining was about to modestly respond, nearby, Huang Zhenlong’s gaze fell on the yellow rosewood tea table. Upon seeing the tea set, he suddenly exclaimed, ”Gu old man, what a grand gesture you’ve made!”

Everyone’s attention was immediately drawn by Huang Zhenlong’s exclamation as they followed his gaze to the white glazed porcelain set on the yellow rosewood tea table.

”This is...”

Chief Lu’s eyes froze the moment he saw the porcelain set, unable to concentrate on his conversation with Huo Sining. Instinctively, he reached out and picked up one of the teacups, examining it closely. In just a few seconds, the elder’s eyes became moist, and he grew visibly excited.

Over there, Master Gu was somewhat unclear, ”What’s special about this tea set?”

”You don’t know?” Huang Zhenlong looked at Master Gu, puzzled.

Master Gu laughed heartily, ”How would I know? This was just brought out by Huo girl. I haven’t had the chance to ask, and just as you all came, I haven’t figured out the story behind this tea set. But this girl never does anything without reason; there must be a significant tale here, otherwise, she wouldn’t bring it out so openly.”

Huang Zhenlong, upon hearing this, chuckled, ”You’ve got it right. This girl has many treasures; it’s just a matter of whether she’s willing to show them. It’s thanks to your reputation that we get to see this porcelain set. Otherwise, it’s rare even for us.”

Master Gu had already guessed that there must be a reason behind Huo Sining bringing this tea set. Hearing Huang Zhenlong, he couldn’t help but laugh heartily from the heart, ”You’ve said so much nonsense, yet you haven’t explained the story behind this thing.”

Huang Zhenlong pointed at the teacup with a smile, ”White as jade, bright as a mirror, thin as paper, resonant like a bell. If I’m not mistaken, this should be the 7501 Porcelain, and this set should be the fabled Sunlit Red Plum.”

After saying this, Huang Zhenlong looked at Huo Sining, seemingly to confirm if he was correct.

Huo Sining nodded subtly, without a word, while some of the others were still unsure about what the 7501 Porcelain referred to. However, some who understood let out an ’ah’ and stared intently at the seven-piece white glazed porcelain set on the tray, with a face of disbelief.

”What is the 7501 Porcelain?” someone asked curiously.

A guest with some knowledge of the market explained on the side, ”It’s Mao porcelain, the porcelain used by that great leader. Only a handful of sets can be found nationwide. Just gathering a complete set requires considerable effort. And a set like this doesn’t come cheap; it’s estimated to cost at least seven or eight million.”

This explanation immediately stunned the attending guests.

Over there, Chief Lu’s face had already flushed with excitement, yet his gaze never left the tea set on the table. Even those standing beside him like Zhou Shitao and Qin Lianshan were eagerly inching closer.

Previously, those guests who were dismissive of Huo Sining’s gift now had reddened faces. No one dared to say another word, fearful that if they spoke, they’d reveal their ignorance and intelligence in front of so many, making a fool of themselves.

”Old Brother Lu, if you like this porcelain, you’re welcome to have it,” Master Gu, seeing that Huo Sining’s gift was so unique and noticing how Chief Lu couldn’t put it down, felt it was quite prestigious. However, he wasn’t particularly interested in such antiques himself, so he intended to give the set to Chief Lu.

Upon hearing this, Chief Lu chuckled, ”This is indeed Mao porcelain, but it’s not the same as the one that was used by the great leader. However, if you give it to me, it would truly squander the young lady’s good intentions. She gifted you this tea set, probably not for the Mao porcelain itself, but rather for what’s inside the teapot.”

Saying this, Chief Lu shook the drum-shaped teapot in his hand, and a rustling sound came from inside.
