Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1111: Chapter 1107: Beyond Repair

”Qibao!”

Huo Sining didn’t expect Qibao to make such a request. She wanted to snap at him not to mess around, but before she could say anything, Qibao tugged at her sleeve, signaling her to squat down.

Huo Sining hesitated for a moment but then squatted down. The little guy leaned over to her ear and whispered, ”Sister, quickly think of a way to buy that vase!”

Huo Sining looked at Qibao curiously, ”The vase is already shattered. What do you want it for?”

Qibao’s face showed a proud expression, ”Silly sister, you forgot, Qibao has the Rock Spirit Pearl. That vase is made out of clay. What’s the big deal if it’s broken? Once Qibao’s spiritual energy is restored, I can help you fix it by tomorrow, and it’ll look just like it originally did!”

Huo Sining was taken aback, then couldn’t help but laugh.

How could she forget, Qibao’s pearl is earth-based. Yan Feng once mentioned getting this little guy to fix her smashed Jade Clean Bottle, and she had even seen him transform the Oily Green Species into High Ice Type Jadeite. Repairing a chipped vase is indeed a trivial matter.

The Old Granny over there suddenly received eight million and realized she was getting the better deal from Huo Sining. So when she heard Qibao wanted her chipped Plum Vase, she didn’t refuse and glanced at the vase with a smile, ”Since you like it, take the vase. It’s chipped anyway and probably wouldn’t sell for much.”

Huo Sining felt a bit embarrassed and wanted to decline further, but Qibao rushed over and clung tightly to the packaging holding the Plum Vase, refusing to let go. Seeing this, Huo Sining was practically speechless.

After much persuasion, she finally let Old Granny accept three thousand yuan in cash, which made Huo Sining feel much better. She let Qibao carry the Plum Vase outside, but after only a few steps, Huo Sining suddenly remembered something, turned back to the Old Granny, and asked:

”Ma’am, you mentioned the other Plum Vase was with your sister. Do you know if it’s still with her?”

The Old Granny was stunned for a moment, then smacked her forehead with a laugh, ”Oh, I recall now. I wanted to tell you that someone once offered a thousand dollars for that Plum Vase. I told my sister to take good care of it. When my husband fell ill, it was my sister who suggested I try my luck selling it on Antique Street. However, she’s not sure of the current situation; she just told me to give it a shot.”

Huo Sining nodded upon hearing this, ”That Plum Vase is part of this set. If your sister wants to sell it, I’ll buy it as well, provided it’s as intact as this one. As long as it’s not chipped, I’ll offer a million yuan for it. You can ask your sister if she’s willing to part with it.”

With that, Huo Sining pulled out a business card from her pocket and handed it to the Old Granny, ”This is my contact information. If your sister wants to sell the vase, she can contact me anytime.”

The Old Granny nodded and carefully put away Huo Sining’s business card. Only then did the group turn around and leave.

After exiting the old residential area, Su Qingqing frowned, ”You really spoil Qibao. For such a broken vase, you spent three thousand yuan just because he wanted to buy it. This is what we call spoiling. Next, he’ll want the stars and moon, are you going to get them for him too?”

Huo Sining just laughed, ”It’s just a vase. Find a skilled artisan to repair the chipped spot, and it’ll be good as new, right? Once it’s fixed, we might even sell it for a profit.”

Hearing this, Su Qingqing couldn’t help but roll her eyes, pointing at Yin Zeyan seated behind them, ”Do you really think every artisan is skilled enough to restore any porcelain flawlessly? And make a profit? You’re daydreaming.”

Yin Zeyan, who was listening, nodded in agreement and stated:

”There’s no need to repair it. The base that broke off is part of the plum blossom design. Even if you glue the pieces back together, you’d need to retouch the painting to make it complete. These plum blossoms were painted by a master, especially the broken section, which is in deep colors, making it the hardest to replicate. It’s severely damaged, and most ordinary artisans lack the painting skills needed to handle the plum blossom watermark without risking further damage.”

Huo Sining smiled upon hearing this and glanced down at Qibao, who was curled up in her arms, sleeping peacefully. She asked with a smile, ”So, no one can fix this vase?”

”I doubt it!” Su Qingqing responded bluntly, ”It’s not like you’re short on three thousand yuan. Just consider it a fun expense for the little guy!”

Yin Zeyan shook his head, ”There might be one person who could do it.”

His words caught everyone in the car by surprise, and they all turned to look at him.

Yin Zeyan paused deliberately, his eyes glinting with mischief, ”If you took this vase to Mojing’s Jiang Yindao, I’d bet within a month, he’d return it to you whole and intact.”

”Pfft—” Su Qingqing burst into laughter, and even Huo Sining realized Yin Zeyan was teasing her.

The Mojing Jiang Family is known for their porcelain restoration skills. Huo Sining had heard of their reputation when she first got into antiques. The Jiang Family’s porcelain restoration is exceptional, employed by the National Museum for three generations. In Jiang Yindao’s hands, the craft has become even more refined. It is said that no matter how broken a porcelain is, he can restore it miraculously, guaranteeing it looks as good as new.

However, the restoration process is extremely meticulous, and during his employment at the National Museum, Jiang Yindao wouldn’t repair more than ten pieces a year. After retiring, he almost stopped accepting restoration jobs altogether. Even if he takes on a project, the repair costs are extremely high, often reaching seven figures or more, which most people cannot afford.

Therefore, Yin Zeyan’s words were indeed teasing Huo Sining because even if the Plum Vase was fully intact, its market value would hardly reach a million. Even if Jiang Yindao agreed to restore it for Huo Sining, the seven-figure restoration fee alone would match the vase’s market value, making it not worth the effort.

Moreover, even if Huo Sining found Jiang Yindao, he wouldn’t take the job, which is why both Yin Zeyan and Su Qingqing decided the Plum Vase’s fate was hopeless.

Both assumed that the fate of this Plum Vase was already sealed.

But, was there really no hope for a turn of events?
