Reborn As Super Heiress

Tang Jinchuan timed his visit thinking that at the end of the year, Jubao Pavilion would be busy with many things, and Li Quan and Qiao Zhenhuan would certainly be overwhelmed. Amid the chaos, they might accept the counterfeit painting without scrutinizing it closely.

Tang Jinchuan’s schemes were elaborate, but luck wasn’t on his side. The moment he walked in, he bumped into Huo Sining, who came by on a whim. She is sharp-eyed and doesn’t tolerate deception; with the Heavenly Eye aiding her, her vision is even sharper than a Carbon-14 Detector. She immediately spotted the trick in the painting.

Li Quan offered ten thousand yuan to purchase the painting. Tang Jinchuan hesitated, hoping Huo Sining would raise the price, but she just smiled at him, waiting for him to make a decision.

Tang Jinchuan was caught in a dilemma. He wished for Huo Sining to increase her offer, but knowing that elsewhere the painting might not even fetch this price, he ultimately had no choice but to agree after waiting for several minutes.

Despite losing face with Huo Sining, Tang Jinchuan was quite impressed with her and decided to investigate who exactly this girl named Huo was once he left Jubao Pavilion.

”Boss Tang, that’s very kind of you. I’ll take the painting, and if you have any good items in the future, please don’t forget Jubao Pavilion. My shop has only been open for a short while, and we are in need of loyal clients. You’ve traveled far and wide for many years, surely having a lot of good items on hand. If you could frequent our store more often, it would provide us another source of goods. Rest assured, we will never let Boss Tang suffer in terms of pricing!”

Huo Sining was straightforward. With Tang Jinchuan agreeing to sell, she accepted it without fault and expressed all forms of courtesy, though in Tang Jinchuan’s ears, it sounded discomforting.

Originally, he intended to pass off the painting as a genuine work of Shen Zhou to Jubao Pavilion, which would fetch a price in the millions at the very least. The disparity between a million and ten thousand is not insignificant.

However, he misjudged this time; despite being run by a few young people, Jubao Pavilion’s keen eye is no lesser than the veterans of other antique shops. His experience with Huo Sining’s sharpness was an eye-opener, cautioning him not to take such bold actions in the future.

Though knowing the item was fake, Huo Sining didn’t insist on transparency. Spending ten thousand yuan to buy the painting from Tang Jinchuan was a gesture of goodwill to establish business, to buy connections, and to build friendships.

Tang Jinchuan wasn’t foolish. He understood the implication in Huo Sining’s words. Although cornered by Huo Sining, he managed to make a profit of several thousand yuan on the counterfeit painting. Not being a vengeful person, he appreciated the goodwill Huo Sining expressed and chose to reciprocate.

”Boss Huo is straightforward; and I, Old Tang, will certainly follow the rules. If I have any good items on hand, I’ll definitely return for your expertise!” Tang Jinchuan’s words were sincere, expressing his genuine admiration for Huo Sining.

Huo Sining noticed that Tang Jinchuan was honest and nodded with a smile, ”Then I’ll await some good news from Boss Tang.”

After that, Huo Sining instructed Li Quan to hand Tang Jinchuan ten thousand yuan in cash.

With the transaction closed and money in hand, Tang Jinchuan felt relieved. After bidding farewell, he turned to leave, but suddenly recalled something at the door and returned to Huo Sining’s side to ask quietly, ”Miss Huo, there’s something I want to say but I’m not sure if I should.”

Huo Sining was taken aback, gave Tang Jinchuan a glance, and nodded, ”Boss Tang, feel free to speak.”

Tang Jinchuan hesitated before asking, ”Boss Huo, when did your shop open?”

Huo Sining replied, ”Four months ago.”

Tang Jinchuan pondered for a bit and said, ”I’ve interacted with Boss Li and Manager Qiao recently, and witnessed Boss Huo’s charm today. You three are quite honorable. I’m curious, does Miss Huo have any conflicts with the Imperial Capital Liang Family?”

Huo Sining abruptly lifted her head upon hearing this, looking at Tang Jinchuan with surprise, ”Boss Tang, what do you mean by that?”

Tang Jinchuan chuckled, ”I don’t mean anything else. I just want to caution you about the Imperial Capital Liang Family, best to remain vigilant.”

Huo Sining deliberated for a few seconds, understanding Tang Jinchuan’s implication, nodding with a grateful smile, ”I have no grievances with the Imperial Capital Liang Family, yet thank you for the advice, Boss Tang. I will certainly stay alert. Li Quan, please escort Boss Tang!”

Previously, Huo Sining wasn’t so courteous. Now she asked Li Quan to see him off, signaling she took his words seriously. Without further comments, Tang Jinchuan smiled meaningfully, waved at Huo Sining, ”No need to escort me, you all are busy, I’ll be off. We’ll meet again!”

He then happily stepped out of Jubao Pavilion.

As Tang Jinchuan disappeared down Liulichang Street, Li Quan and the others turned back to Huo Sining, ”Miss Huo, what did Tang Jinchuan mean by his last words?”

Even Gu Xu frowned; Li Quan and Qiao Zhenhuan might not know who the Imperial Capital Liang Family was, but Gu Xu did. He had previously investigated Huo Sining’s background and knew exactly the ties between the Liang Family and Huo Sining. Upon hearing Tang Jinchuan mention the Liang Family, he immediately realized that the Liang Family might be unable to hold back and start taking action.

”It’s nothing, you don’t need to worry. Focus on the antiques in the shop. Be prepared for anything, keep a sharp eye, and ensure that all authentication basics are firmly grasped, and no demon or evil shall hide!”

Huo Sining deduced that today’s affairs likely bore the Liang Family’s fingerprints from Tang Jinchuan’s words. Yet, whether the Liang Family targeted herself directly was uncertain, and she didn’t want others involved in her disputes with the Liang Family. Since she paid no heed to the Liang Family and didn’t wish to involve them, naturally, Li Quan and Qiao Zhenhuan weren’t informed about the Liang Huang Family’s past issues.

Hence, she didn’t directly answer Li Quan’s inquiry but instructed them to focus on managing the shop and ignore everything else.

If not for Huo Sining’s presence today, Li Quan and Qiao Zhenhuan might have fallen into Tang Jinchuan’s trap, so upon hearing Huo Sining’s advice, both bowed their heads in shame, introspecting their errors, losing the desire to further question about the Liang Family.
