Reborn As Super Heiress

Sister Liu looked hesitant, while the smile on An Rong’s face grew increasingly radiant. However, the gaze she cast towards Sister Liu was icy cold, causing Sister Liu’s body to stiffen, leaving her speechless.

”Sister Liu, you don’t need to worry. It’s just a set of cosmetics, and no one can blame you for it. I also use these cosmetics myself. You used them after me and then on Miss Huo. If any issues arise, it’s due to the skin, different people’s skin requires different cosmetics. If Miss Huo is allergic to my cosmetics, it’s her problem, not yours.”

An Rong wore a serene smile, looking harmless, yet her words sounded cold and sinister, making Sister Liu shiver inwardly despite her expressionless face.

”What, Sister Liu, you don’t want to? Hmm?” An Rong’s voice was gentle and soft, but to Sister Liu, it sounded like a thunderclap.

Sister Liu was well aware of An Rong’s tactics. If she didn’t follow An Rong’s instructions, she’d likely have to pack up and leave before the year ended.

After working hard to climb up to her current position as a dedicated makeup artist, the thought of retreating disgracefully was unacceptable to her.

In contrast, an up-and-coming magician who got the role through connections seemed insignificant to Sister Liu. Although she sympathized with the magician’s future, she had to compromise for her own livelihood.

At times like this, Sister Liu could only comfort herself with the thought that it’s better her ally falls than her, blaming the girl for being foolish enough to run into An Rong.

Thinking this, Sister Liu quickly agreed verbally, fearing displeasing An Rong: ”You’re joking, right? It’s just applying makeup to a magician, it’s simple. Since Director Han instructed it, I’ll make sure to do it perfectly!”

An Rong and the others were plotting mischief, unaware that the person they were discussing stood just three steps behind them, watching them with fury.

Huo Sining felt her anger rising. Although she initially planned not to pay attention to them, the fact that the woman named An Rong secretly sabotaged her makeup to ruin her face was intolerable.

Almost instinctively, Huo Sining retrieved a porcelain bottle from Space and swiftly performed a subtle action.

Her fingernail flicked lightly, and an invisible powder flew towards the three people nearby, settling on their faces without detection.

Huo Sining had used this powder on multiple people before. The most direct instance was during a gamble in international waters on the Asian Star, where her subtle powder forced the domineering Xiang Brothers to bow down and plead in front of her.

This powder was synthesized from various secret medications by Yan Feng, and its effects were undeniable. Huo Sining rarely used it against people because when it got serious, it wasn’t fun.

However, the three women in front of her were evidently no good, especially Wu Jingyi and An Rong. Against such people, Huo Sining wasn’t benevolent. Since they prided themselves on their faces, she’d destroy what they were most proud of and see if they could still be arrogant afterward!

After chatting for a while, the three women headed into separate restroom stalls. Seizing the opportunity, Huo Sining revealed herself and exited the washroom with a smirk, discreetly heading to the backstage.

There, the actors who were waiting to witness Huo Sining’s embarrassment were taken aback to see her effortlessly handling the situation. Witnessing her dressed and groomed elegantly as she walked out, the backstage fell silent for a few seconds. Everyone gawked at Huo Sining, men and women alike, struck by her stunning appearance.

Huo Sining anticipated their reactions. Even under the backstage’s gaze, she felt no discomfort and sat down quietly, waiting for the performance ahead to finish before her turn to go on stage.

After waiting five minutes, the host’s lines sounded from the front: ”Dong Qing, did you enjoy fairy tales as a child?”

”I did. My favorite was Grimm’s fairy tales, especially the stories of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. What about you, Zhu Jun?”

”Me? I’m different from you. I love the sea and the tale of the daughter of the sea by Andersen, who sacrificed for love the most.”

”The daughter of the sea, that’s the Mermaid Princess, right?” Dong Qing asked, feigning surprise.

”Exactly! Ever since hearing that story, I’ve often wondered if mermaids truly exist and what the Mermaid Princess really looks like,” Zhu Jun mused dreamily.

Dong Qing’s expression turned mysterious, smiling: ”Your wish will come true today.”

”It will come true? What do you mean?” Zhu Jun exclaimed in disbelief.

”Literally speaking, our Mermaid Princess from the sea is coming ashore to wish everyone a Happy New Year today,” Dong Qing grinned.

”How is that possible?” Zhu Jun doubted.

Dong Qing shook her head with a smile: ”If you don’t believe it, just watch and see - look, the Mermaid Princess is here!”

The backstage actors, hearing the host’s lines and seeing Huo Sining’s attire, were speechless, not interrupting the stillness. Everyone marveled at how well the entrance lines were written, seemingly tailored for Huo Sining, reminiscent of the enchanting protagonist in a fairy tale, the Little Mermaid who evokes both love and pity.

After the host finished speaking, it was Huo Sining’s turn to go on stage. Already prepared, she got up once she heard the host mention fairy tales, ready to head to the stage. Coincidentally, An Rong and her companions returned from the restroom at that moment, meeting Huo Sining’s gaze as she moved towards the stage.

Seeing Huo Sining’s appearance and makeup, their expressions of amusement instantly froze.
