Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 897: Chapter 893 The Battle Begins

That’s more like it.

Huo Sining let out a cold laugh in her heart. After all, she was the one who revived the plant. If Zhao Guotian thought he could brush off the previous agreement with just a few words, Huo Sining definitely wouldn’t let it slide.

However, he seemed to be someone who knew when to yield. With just a casual remark, Huo Sining scared him into submission, making him too afraid to keep pushing, so he admitted defeat honestly.

Seeing Zhao Guotian’s attitude, Huo Sining wasn’t the type to be overly aggressive either. She decided to take what was offered and nodded, saying:

”Boss Zhao, you should know better than anyone what happened with this plant that day. My friend put in so much effort over such a long period; it’s only fair that she gets some compensation. Since you’re sincere about wanting it, I’ll be straight with you: two hundred thousand. For two hundred thousand, this plant is yours.”

Zhao Guotian originally thought that Huo Sining would seize this opportunity to make an outrageous demand. After all, she had previously promised to compensate him ten times the price. According to the terms of the bet, as the loser, he should also pay a hefty price.

But the price Huo Sining offered was quite a surprise to Zhao Guotian. Two hundred thousand—if you truly calculate it—was less than what this Old Golden Osmanthus was worth.

Previously, even without blooming, this Old Golden Osmanthus’s gnarled branches had attracted a lot of interest. Including Yan Xuesong, seven or eight people had asked if he would sell it, with the highest offer exceeding three hundred thousand.

Now that the Golden Osmanthus had not only bloomed but also sprouted new leaves, it appeared vibrant and full of auspiciousness. The value would surely increase by another fifty or sixty thousand.

But now, Huo Sining was asking only for two hundred thousand, which left Zhao Guotian dumbfounded. He stared blankly at Huo Sining, thinking he had misheard: ”How much did you say?”

Yan Xuesong, who had been silently watching, couldn’t help but snort when he heard Huo Sining say that she would sell it to Zhao Guotian for two hundred thousand, especially after Zhao Guotian had given him signs to intervene earlier. He said rudely:

”Zhao, don’t pretend to be smart when you’re sitting pretty. Compared to your backhanded methods, the young lady is much more straightforward and honest!”

Being scolded by Yan Xuesong in front of a room full of people, the usually thick-skinned Zhao Guotian felt embarrassed. His face turned red, and after glancing awkwardly at everyone around, he finally confirmed with Huo Sining again:

”Miss Huo, are you serious about this? You’re really letting me have this plant for two hundred thousand?”

Huo Sining nodded with a smile: ”Since this plant has been your treasure for years, it should return to its rightful owner. If it stays with me, I wouldn’t know how to care for it, and one day, it might just step into Ghost Gate Pass again.”

Joy flickered in Zhao Guotian’s eyes, and he promptly agreed: ”Alright, I’ll go get the money for you, Miss Huo. Let’s leave the plant here for now, and please wait a little longer. I’ll cover today’s meal. Miss Huo, order whatever you like, and I’ll have the kitchen prepare it right away.”

Huo Sining was not shy. She picked up the menu and started ordering. Although there were only three of them at the table, she promptly ordered six or seven signature dishes, showing no intention of saving Zhao Guotian money.

Zhao Guotian wasn’t stingy either. After Huo Sining finished ordering, a staff member quickly ran to the kitchen with the orders. In less than ten minutes, the dishes she ordered began arriving promptly without delay.

Seeing that the dishes were being served at Huo Sining’s table, the other people in the room felt it was inappropriate to stay in the private room any longer. Anyone with a discerning eye could see that Huo Sining was hosting friends. Standing there in the room was inappropriate, so a few people tactfully left and asked Zhao Guotian to arrange another private room.

Once Yan Xuesong and the others left, Zhong Zifan and Liao Song eagerly began asking questions. Although they had been watching in the room earlier, they hadn’t figured out what was going on. Now, their eyes widened in curiosity as they looked at Huo Sining.

Huo Sining wasn’t aware that Zhong Zifan and Liao Song could be this curious, so she shrugged and casually recounted the events of that day.

Zhong Zifan and Liao Song had witnessed Huo Sining’s skill in stone gambling and knew that while she appeared unassuming, she was quite shrewd. Therefore, they weren’t surprised that Huo Sining could know such a top-notch plant expert.

The three of them ate and drank happily. Ever since Huo Sining helped Zhong Zifan thwart Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei’s conspiracy with her Pigeon Blood Red and Gold-threaded Jadeite as live advertisements, their stone gambling shop’s business had been thriving, and they had accumulated quite a bit of funds.

Zhong Zifan was in high spirits and deeply grateful to Huo Sining.

Huo Sining didn’t take credit, but she was happy to lend a helping hand to Zhong Zifan. With her capabilities, helping Zhong Zifan turn things around wasn’t a difficult task.

”Since you have some extra funds, I think you should hire a professional to help with stone appraisal. Take a look at the major public auctions.”

Upon mentioning this, Huo Sining suddenly remembered that when she was in Mindong with Wang Kaiwen, she had heard from Boss Qi in his warehouse about a major stone gambling public auction in Yangon, Myanmar, in October.

However, since Huo Sining had plans to go to Dongyang in October, she couldn’t make a trip to Yangon, so she didn’t pay much attention to it. Now that she was discussing this topic with Zhong Zifan and Liao Song, it came back to her.

”There are small public auctions in places like Pingzhou, Ruili, and Tengchong every month, but if you want to make it big, you have to take risks. I heard there’s a large stone gambling public auction in Myanmar in October. I think you guys should give it a try. If not, let others have the meat while you drink the soup. Find a Myanmar merchant to bring back a batch of goods, which is better than this small-scale trading of rough materials.”

What Huo Sining said made sense, but Zhong Zifan and Liao Song had peculiar expressions on their faces. They didn’t seem to be considering it; instead, they had a somewhat bitter smile.

”What’s wrong? Is there a problem with my suggestion?”

Seeing their strange expressions, Huo Sining instinctively asked.

Zhong Zifan and Liao Song exchanged a glance and then forced a smile: ”No problem, your suggestion aligns with our plans. We intended to do just that, but now it’s not possible.”

”Why?” Huo Sining asked, puzzled.

Zhong Zifan sighed: ”There’s a war in Myanmar now.”
