Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 874: Chapter 870 Witch She TaiJun

Yao Xinzhu was confident that this matter was not a problem for her at all. Given her relationship with Gu Xu, she was sure that Gu Xu would agree without hesitation.

But after returning to the Imperial Capital, she went to Shengtang to talk with Gu Xu several times. Gu Xu remained aloof and businesslike, completely unyielding. This made Yao Xinzhu very frustrated, so she decided to take a roundabout approach. She contacted her distant Liu family relative, Liu Manshu, and asked her for help in getting closer to Mrs. Gu.

Unfortunately, Yao Xinzhu’s plan was destined to fail. Not only did Gu Xu not give her any face, but Mrs. Gu also seemed unimpressed. Now, Huo Sining had given her such bad news.

If everyone fell into a raw material crisis, even if Shengtang canceled its current cooperation with Samra, they wouldn’t find another suitable partner. Ultimately, they would have to compromise and give Samra a chance to reconcile.

But now XiangNai Company had solved the raw material crisis ahead of other companies. Ten tons of balsam was a huge number, enough to supply XiangNai for a year. XiangNai had gained some breathing room and would undoubtedly seize this opportunity to go all out against Samra, disrupting or even snatching Samra’s collaborative projects.

The thought that all her hard work might go up in smoke made Yao Xinzhu shudder. She had originally intended to stay at the Gu’s thick-skinned, but now she couldn’t sit still for a moment.

”But it doesn’t matter, Samra Company has already resolved the raw material issue. The current situation is still favorable for your company. Now, with Samra and XiangNai on the same starting line and other companies left behind, your company can seize this opportunity to quickly expand the market, gain a larger market share, and make a strong statement...”

Huo Sining continued to chatter on, pretending to strategize on behalf of Yao Xinzhu. Yao Xinzhu felt so furious that she thought she might explode. Her face turned from blue to white as she suddenly stood up, glaring angrily at Huo Sining.

Huo Sining was startled and looked at Yao Xinzhu innocently, ”What’s the matter, Miss Yao? Did I say something wrong?”

Yao Xinzhu struggled to contain her raging emotions and responded coldly, ”No, Miss Huo, you were right. I just remembered I have something urgent to attend to, so I won’t disturb you any longer. Mrs. Gu, I apologize for the abrupt visit, but I must take my leave now!”

Without waiting for Mrs. Gu’s response, Yao Xinzhu grabbed her bag and hurried out.

Liu Manshu, not understanding what was going on, could only follow suit. She had come to the Gu’s with Yao Xinzhu under the pretense of being an old classmate of Gu Xu. Now that Yao Xinzhu had left, she had no reason to stay and could only trail behind her.

Mrs. Gu was all too happy to see them leave. She scoffed, ”You know you were impolite? Running into someone’s house without a word. I’ve never seen such guests. Who knows what sort of family she comes from, having no manners at all!”

Of course, Yao Xinzhu didn’t hear Mrs. Gu’s words as she was already nearing the gate.

Huo Sining, not missing a chance to tease, quickly chased after them, maintaining a falsely enthusiastic tone:

”Miss Yao, why the sudden rush? Stay for lunch; I was enjoying our chat. There are so many things I still want to ask you!”

Yao Xinzhu’s steps paused before quickening again as she left the Gu’s yard. Liu Manshu, in her narrow-step qipao, struggled to keep up and nearly stumbled after just a few steps.

Huo Sining watched with amusement until they finally disappeared from sight, then turned back into the house, cheerful.

Inside, Mrs. Gu was preparing vegetables. Seeing Huo Sining return, she pulled her down to the sofa, speaking earnestly:

”You are too naive, chatting so eagerly with that Yao woman. She was plotting something harmful. Hmph, such woman reeks of seduction. Perfume and luxury goods, would a decent woman study such things? Vain and scheming, did she think I couldn’t see through her?”

”Just listen to the way she calls Gu Xu, ’A Xu A Xu,’ giving me goosebumps. I’ve never called my son that even after all these years. It’s laughable. Who does she think she is? Trying to scheme in front of me! I’ve eaten more salt than she has rice.”

”Let me tell you, I’ve seen many women like her in my younger years. To deal with such women, you must be quick and ruthless; strike where it hurts. Teach them a lesson so they know you’re not to be messed with. Only then will they behave.”

”That woman clearly has designs on Gu Xu. But don’t worry, I know my son. Gu Xu wouldn’t fall for such a superficial woman. When he returns, I’ll have a word with him; remind him not to get involved with such riffraff. They treat themselves like a big deal!”

Mrs. Gu’s protective instinct kicked in, her eyes gleaming with determination.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but break into a sweat, unsure if it was her imagination, but Mrs. Gu didn’t look angry at all. Instead, she seemed utterly thrilled, as if relishing a rare entertaining event.

Huo Sining had witnessed Mrs. Gu’s combat prowess firsthand. Their first meeting was at a small restaurant near S University. Huo remembered clearly, a few thugs had bothered her, and the elderly lady took them out effortlessly with a couple of punches.

This memory vivid in her mind, observing the same gleam in Mrs. Gu’s eyes as at the restaurant, Huo couldn’t help but inwardly chuckle and sympathize for Yao Xinzhu.

After tangling with Gu Family’s Madam Gu, Elisa, you’re in for it.

Huo Sining didn’t stay long at the Gu’s. She had planned to have lunch with Madam Gu, but then received a call from Li Quan, asking if she planned to visit the dealership today. Considering her short stay in the Imperial Capital, she figured she might as well get one more task done and agreed immediately.
