Urban Martial Saint

Eldest Brother Lin remained silent for a while before speaking in a low voice, ”Where are you?”

Scar Lee, thinking Eldest Brother Lin wanted to kill him, hastily said, ”Eldest Brother, I really didn’t betray you, everything I said is true. Ye Qing showed me his brother’s photo to get me to help him find his brother. I called you to make a contribution!”

”Cut the crap.” Eldest Brother Lin said sternly, ”Go to the Eastern Suburb Villa, if what you’re saying is true, we’ll let bygones be bygones regarding former matters. But if you dare to lie to me again, I will kill you with my own hands!”

Overjoyed, Scar Lee said, ”Don’t worry, Eldest Brother, there won’t be any mistakes. As long as we find Ye Qing’s brother and threaten him with it, killing Ye Qing will be a piece of cake. I’ll take a cab there now, and we can discuss things in detail when we meet.”

After hanging up the phone, Eldest Brother Lin stood up and said to Yang Shitao, ”Boss Yang, I have something to take care of and must go. But as I said before, if I kill Ye Qing, I want ten million. If I capture someone alive for you, that will be twenty million!”

”No problem!” Yang Shitao said, ”I hope you can take away the twenty million.”

A sneer brushed past the corner of Eldest Brother Lin’s mouth as he turned and, with his men, left Yang Shitao’s villa.

Meanwhile, a man beside Yang Shitao watched Eldest Brother Lin leave and whispered, ”Eldest Brother Lin is simply no match for that Ye Qing. Going out this time, he’s probably going to suffer a big loss again.”

Yang Shitao let out a cold laugh and said, ”Such over-confident people need to be taught a lesson, or they really think they’re capable of anything. This is actually good; only when Ye Qing backs him into a corner will he throw everything he has into the fight. Otherwise, he definitely won’t make a move on Lin Huayu!”

Eldest Brother Lin drove quickly back to the Eastern Suburb Villa and after waiting five minutes, Scar Lee finally arrived in a taxi. As instructed by Eldest Brother Lin, several underlings at the entrance brought Scar Lee in to see him.

Upon seeing Eldest Brother Lin, Scar Lee went up to him eager to take credit, saying, ”Eldest Brother, Ye Qing showed me his brother’s photo, and I remember how he looks. I’m sure I’ve seen that person before, definitely one of our own guys. Just let me see the people, and I will be able to find him immediately!”

”Good!” Eldest Brother Lin nodded and said, ”Xiao Li, if you handle this matter well, I’ll overlook everything from before and even give you two more venues to manage. But listen carefully, if you dare to deceive me, I will make sure you die a terrible death!”

Scar Lee shivered all over and hurriedly nodded, saying, ”Don’t worry, Eldest Brother, there will be no problem!”

Eldest Brother Lin didn’t linger there and immediately took Scar Lee and about fifty of his men, heading straight to his new storage spot. He brought so many men primarily to guard against Ye Qing, just in case. With so many people protecting him, escaping with his life would definitely not be a problem.

A convoy of more than a dozen vehicles left the villa grandiosely and headed eastward, driving over twenty miles before finally entering a secluded village.

The group stopped outside a small two-story building at the far end of the village. One of Eldest Brother Lin’s trusted men went to open the door, and Eldest Brother Lin led thirty people straight into the courtyard, leaving twenty outside to stand guard.

Scar Lee had no idea that Eldest Brother Lin had a stronghold here. As he entered the small building, he saw that the room was full of disabled people and children, crowded together on the ground. There were even people on the stairs, with some of the children simply lying on the steps.

”Eldest Brother, isn’t there a basement here?” Scar Lee asked in astonishment, ”Why are all these animals living outside?”

”The basement is packed!” Eldest Brother Lin glared at Scar Lee and said sternly, ”Everyone from the remaining four strongholds has been moved here; what do you think, is it crowded or not?”

Stunned, Scar Lee said, ”Ah? So, you mean all the animals are here?”

Eldest Brother Lin nodded and simultaneously gestured, ”Stop talking, everyone is here, start looking for that person fast!”

Scar Lee said, ”His brother looks like he’s in his early twenties. We just need to find everyone of that age, and I can recognize him one by one.”

With a wave of his hand from Eldest Brother Lin, a few underlings understood and walked over to wake several people sleeping on the ground, ”Get up, get up, get the hell up, you’ll be sorry if you keep sleeping!”

The disabled people and children in the living room slowly opened their eyes in a daze, looking puzzled at everyone around.

A man commanded, ”Listen up, everyone, ages sixteen to thirty stay, the rest of you get lost!”

Fearing reprisal, the people complied and those within the specified age range stayed while the others left.

An old man whose legs had been chopped off struggled to crawl to the side, but his age slowed him down. Annoyed, the man behind him kicked him in the back and cursed, ”Move faster, or do you believe I’ll beat you up if you’re slow?”

The old man panicked, using his hands and stumps to frantically crawl forward. The others, not daring to delay, rushed to scramble away.

Laughing heartily, the man said, ”Look at this old fart, doesn’t he look like an old turtle?”

The other man joined in the laughter and looked around. He noticed a seven or eight-year-old child still lying on the ground, not moving. Angrily, he cursed and walked over, ”Damn it, everyone’s gone, and you’re still here playing dead? Hurry up and get lost, or I’ll pinch you to death!”

An older man in his sixties hurried over to intervene, anxiously saying, ”Old man, old man, he’s got a fever, he’s delirious right now, probably can’t hear what you’re saying.”

”A fever?” The man glared and said, ”Damn, that means he isn’t dead yet, right? If he’s not dead, then get his ass up!”

As he spoke, the man kicked the child. The child was so frail that the kick sent him flying three or four meters, causing his head to hit the wall and crack open, bleeding profusely.

In pain, the child finally managed to open his eyes groggily, still unaware of what had happened.

”Move it, move it...” The older man, with both hands broken, could only use his arms to nudge the child, whispering, ”Or else they’ll beat you again soon...”

The child, with a jolt, struggled to stand up against the wall, but due to his extreme weakness, he fell to the ground after just a couple of steps.

”Damn, playing dead again!” the man cursed angrily, walking over and raising his foot to kick again.

The child hurriedly turned around, crying out, ”Uncle, I’ll crawl faster, please spare me...”

”Still have the nerve to cry, get the hell out of here!” As he spoke, the man kicked the child in the chest, sending him tumbling to the ground, nearly unable to catch his breath.

Fortunately, a disabled person came over at that moment, using his only remaining hand to pull the child, managing to drag him up the steps and thus avoiding any more beating from the man.

Boss Lin sat casually on the sofa, watching the scene as the disabled and the children were frightened into panic, his face devoid of any pity. His subordinates were the same; the first time they did these kinds of things, they might have felt sympathy and pity.

But after receiving fat stacks of cash, any vestiges of kindness and pity had vanished from their hearts, replaced by the drive for profit, and they became ever more cruel to the disabled and the children.

As the saying goes, being good is a habit, same as being bad.

Not even ten minutes passed before all the disabled of that age group were gathered in the living room. Boss Lin glanced at Scar Lee and said, ”Everyone’s here, which one is Ye Qing’s brother?”

Scar Lee had been paying attention too, but among so many, he hadn’t spotted anyone resembling the photo, and he was starting to feel uneasy. Hurrying to his feet, he walked among the disabled, examining each one and comparing them to the photo in his mind, trying to find Ye Qing’s brother.

But after looking twice, he hadn’t found the person from the photo. And he grew more and more restless, his forehead slick with cold sweat. He knew very well that if he failed to find Ye Qing’s brother this time, Boss Lin would definitely not let him off!

”Which one is Ye Qing’s brother?” Boss Lin asked in a low, cold voice, as his gaze began to turn icy.

”Seems... seems like he isn’t among these people...” Scar Lee replied with a trembling voice, ”Is it possible... are there any who haven’t been brought over yet?”

Another man said, ”We have people from all age groups here, we’ve checked one by one.”

Scar Lee swallowed saliva and said, ”The rest of the livestock... are they all here too?”

Boss Lin looked at him coldly without responding.

Scar Lee’s clothes were nearly soaked through with cold sweat. He suddenly realized he had made a big mistake. Ye Qing had been in Shenchuan City for so long, wiping out several of Old Lin’s strongholds, and nobody knew the real reason behind his actions. Why then had he revealed it to him tonight?

”Scarface, you dare to deceive me!” Boss Lin gritted his teeth and said furiously, ”Where is the person? I’m telling you, if we can’t find Ye Qing’s brother today, I’ll personally chop you up!”

Scar Lee was so frightened that he went limp, almost certain he had fallen into Ye Qing’s trap. He knelt down with a thud, his voice trembling as he said, ”Eldest Brother, I...I really didn’t lie to you, he...he told it to me like that...”

Boss Lin walked up to Scar Lee and slapped him twice, bellowing, ”Where is the person?”

Drenched in sweat, Scar Lee didn’t dare to admit he’d been conned by Ye Qing. As he hesitated, a man suddenly rushed in from outside, exclaiming, ”Eldest Brother, something’s happened!”

”What happened?” Boss Lin shouted angrily, clearly agitated.

The underling hurriedly said, ”We just got word, Zhao Chengshuang took a team, said they were going to North City District on official duty. But mid-way, they changed course, looks like they’re heading our way!”

”What?” Boss Lin’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets, he shouted furiously, ”How can this be? How can this be?”

No one could answer Boss Lin’s question; he asked twice and then suddenly turned his head to look at Scar Lee, roaring, ”It’s your goddamn fault, you led them here!”
