The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1389: Chapter 1389: Young Master Meng’s Fiancée?

Meng Yunzheng handed the medicine to Aunt He and introduced, “This is my unacknowledged fiancée, Yu. You can call her Lady Lu. She got injured riding a horse here, so please help her apply the medicine.”

Unacknowledged fiancée??

Aunt He numbly took the medicine box, looking at Shu Yu in shock.

The latter smiled and nodded to her, “Thank you.”

Aunt He snapped back to reality, watching Meng Yunzheng leave, and then nervously and stammeringly said, “Miss, you’re welcome. I don’t know where you’re injured. Let me take a look.”

Shu Yu embarrassedly pointed to the sides of her thighs, and Aunt He understood why Young Master Meng asked her to apply medicine.

She carefully cleaned and applied the medicine while quietly observing her.

So, Young Master Meng really has a fiancée now, and all the girls in town are going to cry.

Young Master Meng is not only handsome but also talented in both literature and martial arts. During the county exams, he was the top scorer, and he was still leading in the provincial exams.

Although the results of the academy exam aren’t out yet, even if he isn’t the top scorer, his rank shouldn’t be far off.

In any case, he is already a renowned Scholar.

Such a promising young man with both talent and looks is pursued by numerous wealthy families.

When the provincial exam results came out, Aunt He witnessed firsthand how many people rushed to visit, offering many gifts, openly and secretly inquiring about Young Master Meng’s marital status.

Young Master Meng consistently told everyone that he was already engaged and had a fiancée.

For those who are more reserved, such a statement meant that since he was already claimed, it wouldn’t be proper to pursue further, but stepping back to be friends was an option.

However, some didn’t care at all. So what if he has a fiancée? If he wasn’t yet granted an official title when the engagement was made, then the fiancée’s family might not be that great, and the engagement could just be annulled.

Not to mention just engaged, even if married, they could still divorce, and at worst, make the fiancée a concubine. Wouldn’t it be better for Meng to enjoy the blessings of having multiple women?

And indeed, there are quite a few cases like that.

Just last year, a married local scholar Aunt He knew was fancied by a wealthy family’s daughter. That scholar divorced his wife using the excuse of her being childless for three years. Now he is the son-in-law of the wealthy family, receiving their support, and his network and resources have seen a meteoric rise.

Meng Yunzheng is much more handsome than that local scholar, was the top scorer in both exams, and his future prospects are even more promising, so it’s no wonder so many people are eager to meet him.

Even several people came to ask Aunt He about it.

Aunt He consistently echoed Meng Yunzheng’s words: he said he had a fiancée, and so she told others the same.

However, others said that during such an important event as an exam, his fiancée didn’t show up, nor was there any news, therefore it must be an excuse made by Meng Yunzheng.

Aunt He didn’t think Meng Yunzheng was making excuses, but hearing so many people say it confidently made her start to doubt whether he was truly engaged.

Unexpectedly, today she met this mysterious fiancée.

Aunt He didn’t dare to pry too much about Shu Yu. This girl is beautiful, but her family background must be quite good too.

How could ordinary families afford two such fine horses, and ride straight over despite being injured? Could it be that she heard someone is interested in Young Master Meng, so she hurried here to keep an eye on him?
