The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1375: Chapter 1375: Looking for Little Sister

The Xiao Family pondered, ”Could it be that inviting Old Doctor Zhao to diagnose the pulse was not appropriate? This is halfway up the mountain, and it’s inconvenient for him to come over.”

Shu Yu thought, the temperament of the Xiao Family really has changed a lot.

”It’s alright, mainly because I don’t know where Old Doctor Zhao is nowadays. I’ll have to inquire when I get to the prefecture. In that case, taking you around to search is not ideal. Don’t worry, Old Doctor Zhao has always considered climbing mountains and gathering herbs as exercise. The mountain where Dongqing Temple is located isn’t very high, so it’s not difficult for him. Once I find him, I’ll bring him over for pulse diagnosis. If I can’t find him, I’ll go back to Jiangyuan County and call Zhao Xi over first.”

The Xiao Family, hearing what she said, could only nod, ”Well, alright then, I’ll trouble you.”

Shu Yu didn’t stay any longer and quickly took Ying Xi down the mountain, returning to the prefecture.

Old Doctor Zhao had come with Ah Ning to the prefecture a few days ago to gain experience, but exactly where they had gone was unknown.

Where exactly should they search?

Ying Xi sat on the carriage shaft, watching the bustling scene in the prefecture and turned to ask Shu Yu, ”Miss, where are we going next?”

Shu Yu thought for a moment, ”Let’s go to the nearby pharmacies and medical halls.”

She thought, Old Doctor Zhao, taking Ah Ning out, was for diagnosing and treating patients. Although he carried some herbs, it wouldn’t be comprehensive, so he might need to visit a medical hall to get more.

If someone paid attention, an elderly-young combination might reveal some clues.

Sure enough, when Shu Yu inquired at the pharmacies and medical halls, by the time she reached the second one, a staff member said, ”I’ve seen them, I’ve seen them! Who are you to that grandfather and granddaughter? They got into big trouble and something’s bound to happen.”

Shu Yu’s heart skipped a beat, ”What big trouble did they cause?”

The staff member, somewhat gloating, said, ”That old man, he’s too arrogant. Earlier at the entrance of our medical hall, he accidentally saved a sick person. After a few compliments from that person, he really thought himself to be a great doctor, even claiming there are few in the prefecture who can match his medical skill. Hah, I’ve never seen anyone so shameless. Just look at him, if his medical skill were that good, why is he just a traveling doctor outside without even a stable medical hall and dressed in rags? It’s obvious he hasn’t made money.”

Shu Yu frowned, being a traveling doctor is Old Doctor Zhao’s freedom. If he wanted a stable place to practice his medical skill, even going to the Imperial Hospital in the capital would be within reach.

As for clothing, Old Doctor Zhao truly didn’t pay much attention to it.

He often went up the mountain to gather herbs, preferring to wear simple and comfortable coarse cloth linen clothes, cheap and refreshing, and even if branches or stones tore or scratched them, it wouldn’t matter much.

Dressed like this, Ah Ning naturally followed suit.

Shu Yu could almost imagine the two standing at the door looking like an old and young pair of beggars.

The staff member continued, ”That old man also claimed to specialize in treating difficult and rare diseases and has seen many strange illnesses throughout the years from his travels. He told everyone to come find him if needed. Well, that’s when trouble began. The Tan Family’s servants heard him and took the old man and the little girl away on the spot.”

”The Tan Family’s servants? Who is the Tan Family? What do they do?”

”The Tan Family, they’re a prominent family in the prefecture running a cloth shop. The Tan Family even has a Third Lord who works as an official in the capital. We ordinary folks dare not offend them nor can we afford to cross them. The eldest son of the Tan Family fell seriously ill, it’s been nearly two years, and no doctor has managed to cure him. Since that old man claimed to be so capable, the Tan Family took him to treat the illness.”
