The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1373: Chapter 1373: No Wonder They Never Paid Attention to You

Shu Yu nodded, ”Yeah, you didn’t know?”

”How would I know?”

”Isn’t there...” Shu Yu’s voice suddenly stopped. Indeed, Xiang Weinan knew she was a disciple of the Dongqing Temple master, but his relationship with the Xiao Family couple was not good.

She still remembered the first time she saw the Xiao Family, how Xiang Weinan’s once smiling face instantly sank.

With such a relationship, Xiang Weinan would never have heart-to-heart talks with the Xiao Family, discussing these matters.

Shu Yu abruptly changed the topic, ”Isn’t there the Xiao Family? I thought since the Dongqing Temple master is so famous, the Xiao Family would be very attentive, and since the master accepted a disciple, they should have known by now and told you.”

The Xiao Family shook their head, not thinking much of it, ”Thinking about it, the Xiao Family hardly ever told me anything about court matters. I only know many people care about the whereabouts of the Dongqing Temple master, and the Xiao Family should have sent people to search for her too.”

But the movements of the Dongqing Temple master were too unpredictable, and they simply couldn’t find her.

There used to be people waiting at the Dongqing Temple, but they never saw her in a year or two. Even when they heard the master had returned, they never saw her, so many people gave up.

Although the Xiao Family didn’t know much, they still found it unbelievable at this moment.

”The Dongqing Temple master actually accepted a disciple, and you are the disciple of the Dongqing Temple master!!” It was said that the master never took any disciples, and reacted coolly and distantly to everyone and everything.

The Xiao Family was curious, ”Did the master ever teach you... fortune-telling?”

Shu Yu’s mouth twitched, ”No, if I tell you I’ve only seen the master once, you won’t believe it, right?”

Yes, Shu Yu had only met the Dongqing Temple master during the time she was recovering at the Dongqing Temple.

Since then, she had not seen her again.

The Xiao Family’s mouth opened wide, ”No way...”

”Why not? I haven’t seen her in over two years and don’t even know what she looks like now.”

The Xiao Family, ”...”

They found themselves at a loss for words.

They had never heard of such a situation, where a master and disciple had only met once.

With a sudden look of realization, they said, ”No wonder.”

”No wonder what?”

”No wonder those people never sought you out or took you seriously.” No, only the new emperor valued her.

No wonder it wasn’t the Second Prince or the Third Prince who ultimately ascended the throne, but the Fifth Prince who truly had foresight and vision.

The Xiao Family raised their head, ”You’re right, after so long, the Second Prince and the Third Prince should have already known about the disciple matter. But they must also know you’re not familiar with the master, otherwise, with the master’s skills and capabilities, you couldn’t have been exiled.”

If the master truly cared about this disciple, how could she let her go through such an ordeal?

Even the late emperor valued the master highly, and Shu Yu was just an adopted daughter of the Shu family. If the master really wanted to protect her, it would indeed be an easy task.

The Dongqing Temple master remained indifferent to everything, including the other Daoist nuns in the temple, and even this disciple. Shu Yu, as a disciple, was probably no different from the other Daoist nuns.

Shu Yu touched her nose, how should she explain this? Should she say because this is a book, and the plot is so strong that perhaps even the Dongqing Temple master couldn’t change it?

Or should she say she doesn’t know what the Dongqing Temple master was thinking either?
