The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1383: Chapter 1383: Letter from the Dongqing Temple Master

Old Doctor Zhao nodded, Shu Yu felt a bit regretful.

Immediately, Old Doctor Zhao performed acupuncture on Young Master Tan, and after he ate something, he mentioned wanting to go out to search for medicinal herbs.

Old Master Tan naturally agreed wholeheartedly and even planned to have the servants accompany him to lend a hand.

However, Old Doctor Zhao refused, as he wasn’t accustomed to having people around him.

Old Master Tan did not insist, as the renowned Zhao had his own way of handling things, and he didn’t want to cause any dissatisfaction.

Shu Yu also expressed her intention to leave, then took the token of gratitude prepared by Mrs. Tan and left the Tan Family with Old Doctor Zhao and Ah Ning.

Once they left the city, they headed straight to the Dongqing Temple.

While sitting in the carriage, Shu Yu mentioned the Xiao Family situation, “I suspect that the Xiao Family was affected by the same type of poison as Young Master Tan.”

Old Doctor Zhao rubbed his chin, “There is actually such a thing.”

Upon arriving at Dongqing Temple, due to Old Doctor Zhao’s identity as a doctor, he was granted access to the inner courtyard.

The Xiao Family seemed to be residing comfortably here, as her mental state had visibly improved overnight.

She was delighted to see Shu Yu, “It’s very quiet here. I went to sleep early last night and unexpectedly woke up at the auspicious time today. Perhaps it’s because the weight on my heart has been lifted, I haven’t slept so peacefully in a long time.”

Seeing this, Shu Yu felt more at ease and asked Old Doctor Zhao to check her condition.

After taking her pulse, he indeed nodded and said, “It’s definitely the same type of poison.”

He looked at Shu Yu, “Moreover, this poison likely originates from the southwest area, completely absent here.”

Southwest??

That was the place where she had been exiled once.

However, the southwest region is vast, so it may not necessarily be from Linzhang Prefecture.

Shu Yu temporarily noted this matter before asking Old Doctor Zhao, “How is Aunt’s health?”

“Not too bad,” Old Doctor Zhao said, “The person who poisoned her seems to have used a higher dosage compared to Young Master Tan, so while Young Master Tan lasted for two years, Madam Xiang might only endure for another six months before succumbing to illness. But because of this, her poisoning duration is shorter, and the poison hasn’t deeply rooted like in Young Master Tan. The poison was neutralized by the head of the Imperial Hospital, right?”

The Xiao Family nodded repeatedly, “Exactly.”

The fewer people know that she’s still alive, the better. Therefore, the Emperor directly instructed the head to treat her.

Back then, the head had also mentioned the same thing; since the poisoning period was brief, the detoxification was slightly easier, yet she experienced the agony of wishing for death to be better off. Experiencing that once was more than enough.

Old Doctor Zhao responded with a “Hmm,” “Your issue isn’t too severe, although there’s still some residual poison. If you take medicine on time, and I’ll perform acupuncture twice on you soon, it should cleanse entirely. But you’ll still need to pay attention to your diet and maintain a joyful mood. I’ll write down a few medicinal recipes for you to eat every two days to help regulate your body.”

The Xiao Family was extremely grateful, “Thank you, Doctor Zhao.”

Old Doctor Zhao then got busy, while Ah Ning helped him on the side.

Shu Yu chatted with the Xiao Family for a while, then got up to find Daoist Nun Qiu.

Unexpectedly, Daoist Nun Qiu also came looking for her, “Come with me for a moment.”

Suspicion across Shu Yu’s face as she followed Daoist Nun Qiu into her room, where Daoist Nun Qiu took out a letter.

Shu Yu glanced at the envelope, her eyes lit up, “Is this a letter sent by Master?”

What a coincidence, she was just about to inquire Senior Sister Qiu about any news of their master, when she received the letter.
