The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1359: Chapter 1359: The Sunflower Field Goes Viral

The students from Jiangyuan County attend the prefecture exams in Dongan Province, so the county town isn’t as bustling as during the county exams.

Having experienced the county exams, Shurui naturally wanted to witness the prefecture exams as well, so the day before they began, Zhao Xi took him, along with Erniu and Dabao, to the prefecture.

Were it not for Zhao Xi leading them, given the current state of the prefecture, they might not even have found a place to stay.

The only thing on Shu Yu’s mind regarding the prefecture exams was Meng Yunzheng.

After sending the message about the beads, Meng Yunzheng did reply, simply saying he knew about it, but nothing more could be discussed.

Shu Yu continued to busy herself with matters in the workshop, yet what she didn’t expect was that, even without promoting the benefits of instant noodles among the students, her sunflower field unexpectedly became famous among them.

Most of the examinees for the prefecture exams head to the prefecture ten days in advance; if they went late, even lodging would be unavailable.

When they left, the sunflowers had only grown taller without blooming, appearing as a large patch of green from afar, so the students didn’t pay much attention.

Moreover, they were anxious about the exams and had no mind to appreciate the roadside scenery.

However, after staying in the prefecture for about ten days and completing the exams, they then waited for the results for over a month, and upon returning, the sunflowers were in full bloom.

Shu Yu’s sunflower field was on the main path between Jiangyuan County and the prefecture; additionally, another county’s route to the prefecture also passed by there.

As such, the returning examinees, slowing down their journey, happened upon the dazzling sunflowers swaying in the wind.

For these examinees, whether they passed or failed, such a scene tempted them to compose poetry or paint.

Shu Yu’s sunflower field thus unexpectedly gained fame among the students.

Now coinciding with the blooming season, many who heard about it invited each other to enjoy the spring outing.

It was the perfect spring day, sunny and bright, exactly what everyone loved to pursue.

The field was right between the prefecture and the county town, so it wasn’t much trouble for the students from the prefecture to visit, as a few could quickly arrive by carriage.

Someone even found that standing atop the hill where the black market is located and looking down, the view was astonishingly beautiful.

Sightseeing and hiking—what a perfect destination!

This development caught Shu Yu off guard.

She was bewildered herself, then immediately began coordinating manpower. Although these students were educated and more concerned about their reputation, with restrained behavior, there was no guarantee some unscrupulous people wouldn’t sneak into the fields to pick flowers and cause damage.

Just now, Lu’s Workshop wasn’t too busy aside from instant noodles, so Shu Yu dispatched manpower to patrol and guard near the sunflowers.

In the meantime, she took the opportunity to promote instant noodles.

Truly perfect.

However, in just two days, an even better idea was spontaneously brought to her.

And it was Lu Sixing who came; she wanted to set up a stall selling food near the sunflowers.

Last time when the melon seeds just came out, she wholesaled them from Shu Yu and sold them in the peach forest, making quite a few taels of silver, which had given Lu Sixing a taste of success.

However, the peach forest was inside the county town, and although food with strong flavors or hot food couldn’t be sold inside, there were stalls and small shops everywhere outside the peach forest.

Indeed, the pedestrian traffic was vast, but so was the competition.

Furthermore, visitors to the peach forest could go home for lunch if needed.
