The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1353: Chapter 1353: Clear Accounts Between Brothers

The villagers arrived quickly. They must have known that Shu Yu and Daniu would be at the Lu family’s today, so they prepared early and waited at home.

Lu Dasong’s place is too noisy for discussions.

Shu Yu decided to hold the meeting at her own house. Although this village house hasn’t been lived in, Lu Dasong has been looking after it, so it hasn’t fallen into disrepair.

Additionally, when they arrived early this morning, Madam Ruan led people to clean inside and out, so the tables and chairs in the house were clean.

Ying Xi brought over two teapots from Lu Dasong’s place, and just as he was pouring water into cups, several people started arriving outside.

Most were men, with three women mixed in.

To Shu Yu’s surprise, one of them was Liang Wangsheng’s wife.

Since Liang Wangsheng started working with Lu Erbai on repairs, his family life has gradually improved.

He and Lu Erbai had been a perfect team for many years, their cooperation making work much more efficient.

Therefore, Liang Wangsheng earned more wages. Originally, Madam Liang was nearly ruined by her son-in-law Li Dashan’s gambling debts. But now, someone is proposing marriage to Miss Liang again.

However, Miss Liang just had a baby and recently went through the ordeal of Li Dashan running away with money and eloping with someone else. She isn’t interested in remarrying.

Now that Liang Wangsheng is working outside, his wife and daughter stay at home taking care of the grandson, living peaceful days.

But in Shu Yu’s impression, Madam Liang’s land seemed almost entirely sold off. Li Dashan owed a lot of gambling debts, and the creditors came to demand payment from Madam Liang, who used the land to fill the debts.

Because she knew Shu Yu, Aunt Liang was the first to greet her.

Seeing everyone being a bit reserved, Shu Yu decided to first understand the situation from Aunt Liang.

Aunt Liang smiled warmly, ”Yes, our family’s land was all sold. But recently, we bought back three acres. Initially, we planned to grow grains, but then we heard Daqiang wanted to grow sunflowers, so I discussed with my husband and decided to grow sunflowers too.”

The main thing is, she asked Lu Dasong about it, and growing sunflowers isn’t actually complicated and doesn’t have strict land requirements.

Now it’s just her and her daughter at home, taking care of her grandson. They truly don’t have much time. Furthermore, the three acres they bought are not fertile land; the soil isn’t great. Growing grain might yield limited harvests, so they decided to try growing sunflowers.

Shu Yu nodded after hearing this, ”Since you and Uncle Liang have discussed, then give it a try. But let me say upfront, if you don’t grow well, I won’t take them.”

She raised her voice slightly for the latter part to let everyone else hear.

Aunt Liang quickly assured, ”Second Young Lady, rest assured, we understand that. If we don’t grow well, we wouldn’t have the face to sell them to you.”

The others promptly agreed, ”Yes, yes, yes, we won’t force you. We can surely sign a guarantee.”

Seeing them like this, Shu Yu knew they had all considered it.

”Alright, since all of you uncles are interested in growing sunflowers, I will draft a contract. Find someone literate later to have a look, and we’ll write down all the requirements and prices. Each household will sign, and once signed, I will have Daniu sell the seeds to you.”

Yes, sell them. Even with close relations, accounts must be clear. Shu Yu made sure to explain this thoroughly; if they accepted, they accepted.

However, she would also offer a convenience.
