The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1384: Chapter 1384: Returning in Half a Month

Shu Yu casually asked, ”Did this letter arrive today?”

Daoist Nun Qiu lowered her head, feeling a bit guilty, as the letter had actually arrived two days earlier. She had initially planned to find someone to notify Shu Yu, but wasn’t it the time for the academy examination recently? The temple was crowded with visitors hoping for good fortune.

Once she got busy, she completely forgot about it.

Yesterday, when Shu Yu came over, because the Xiao Family was going to stay here, she was too occupied arranging their accommodations and forgot about the letter until Shu Yu left.

Fortunately, she came again today, and Daoist Nun Qiu quickly handed her the letter from the Dongqing Temple master.

Daoist Nun Qiu silently reminded herself that monks don’t tell lies, and it was bad to deceive her, so she simply bypassed the topic and urged her, ”Open it and take a look.”

Shu Yu didn’t mind. Having news from her master made her feel much more at ease, so she hurried to one side to open the letter.

The letter from the Dongqing Temple master was very brief, yet even in brevity, there was good news.

Besides instructing Daoist Nun Qiu on some matters, it mentioned briefly that she would return to the temple in half a month.

Shu Yu was delighted, ”Is Master finally coming back soon?”

This was great; she had been waiting for her.

Shu Yu was somewhat excited and thus didn’t notice the hesitant expression of Daoist Nun Qiu.

Indeed, barring any unexpected events, the temple master was about to return.

If there were unexpected events, then it would be uncertain.

After all, Daoist Nun Qiu had received this type of letter five times before, and the master did not return on schedule.

But seeing Shu Yu like this, Daoist Nun Qiu didn’t have the heart to dampen her spirits and could only say, ”The letter from the temple master says so.”

Shu Yu read the letter again and then returned it to Daoist Nun Qiu.

”Thank you, Senior Sister Qiu. I’ll head back first today. I’ll have to trouble you to take care of Sister Xiang; I’ve been busy lately, so it’ll be a while before I can visit her.”

”Don’t worry, since she is a guest of the Dongqing Temple, she will naturally be well looked after.”

Shu Yu returned to Xiao Family’s room; by then, Old Doctor Zhao had finished prescribing medicine and writing the dietary prescriptions, and they decided to descend the mountain together.

Xiao Family was reluctant to part with Shu Yu, but it was impossible for someone to stay with her all the time.

She stood in the courtyard, looking longingly as they departed.

At the bottom of the mountain, Old Doctor Zhao and Ah Ning planned to return to the Tan Family in the prefecture, so Shu Yu parted ways with them.

”The sunflowers at the manor have just been harvested, and there are many follow-up tasks. I must return to the county town. Take care of yourselves. Ah Ning, learn well with the old man. I’ll come to see you in a while.”

In a few days, she would bring some food and necessities to the Xiao Family and visit the Tan Family’s elder and young master.

Ah Ning nudged Shu Yu’s hand, ”Second Sister, I know. You too, tell Father and Mother that I’m doing well. Master said I’m progressing quickly, although I couldn’t feel anything when I took Young Master Tan’s pulse, but I’ll try harder.”

”Second Sister believes you can do it.”

Shu Yu waved as she watched them enter the city gate before turning to head back.

As the carriage passed the manor, she got off to take a look. Seeing Daniu there, she felt more at ease and didn’t visit the workshop, instead heading straight back to the county town.

Upon arriving home, the first thing Shu Yu did was write a letter to Qi Lie.

She detailed that the Xiao Family had arrived safely, been settled, and that Old Doctor Zhao had examined them.

After hesitating for a moment, she also added that Young Master Tan and Xiao Family were poisoned with the same toxin.
