The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 896: Chapter 896 Everyone’s Arrangement

”Yuehua?” Shu Yu took the invitation and asked, ”Has she also gone to Ningshui Street?”

”Yes, she probably saw the notice and knew you were back, so she came to the shop looking for you. But there were too many people at the shop, and I didn’t know which new house you rented, so I couldn’t tell her. She saw we were busy and left an invitation for you, saying that if you have time, you should go and visit her at her home.”

It wouldn’t be proper to have her come to Liufang Alley to ask Xiang for information. At that time, there were so many people that if he spoke up, Liufang Alley would probably be overwhelmed with visitors.

While listening, Shu Yu nodded and opened the invitation to take a look.

She paused for a moment when she saw the Fan family’s name, then quickly realized.

Right, Ding Yuehua got married at the end of last year, around the same time as Daniu. She should indeed be living with her husband’s family now.

The Fan family... She remembered that it wasn’t very far from her place.

Shu Yu put away the invitation, ”Alright, I’ll go to the Fan family’s house in a bit.”

Having returned from the southwest, she had originally planned to visit some old friends. Her relationship with Ding Yuehua was quite good; even knowing about her exile, Yuehua had never shown any intention of distancing herself.

Yuehua even stood up for her, defending her from idle gossip and expressly went to Yiren Pavilion to buy clothes, leading by example to show her trust in her.

She had even asked Daniu for the address in the southwest to send letters and things to Yuehua.

It was just that Daniu didn’t tell her.

Such a friend was truly hard to come by. She had planned to visit her after inspecting the house, and for this reason, had already placed the gifts she brought back from the southwest in the mule carriage in advance.

After Daniu finished speaking, he was dragged by Dabao to look at the big houses.

The family roamed everywhere, both inside and out, and finally, with some reluctance, prepared to leave.

After exiting the door, Shu Yu said to everyone, ”I’m going to visit a friend, so I won’t go back with you.”

Lu Erbai had a clear idea about the structure of the house and was eager to start working on it, so he said, ”Same here, I’ll go find Craftsman Zheng shortly to see if he’s available to discuss the renovation.”

Daniu also said, ”Then I’ll go look for a manor outside the town this afternoon. If we find one sooner, we can plant the sunflowers earlier.”

After he spoke, Shu Yu turned to look at Lu Sanzhu.

The latter was originally undecided, pondering whether to go back to sleep or to brag a little, when he suddenly felt an intense gaze upon him.

He jumped and quickly said, ”Should I go look for a manor, too?”

Only then did Shu Yu say, ”Alright, then take a mule carriage and go.”

For the common people of the county town, the news of Shu Yu being appointed as Village Chief felt like a bombshell only today. But for the Lu family, it was time for those who needed to rest to have rested enough, and to start arranging their affairs in an orderly fashion.

After Lu Erbai, Daniu, and Lu Sanzhu left, Madam Ruan and Daya planned to return to the Liufang Alley sewing room to rush making clothes.

The ready-to-wear clothes shop’s stock had been wiped clean, so they needed to replenish quickly. Just right, they had returned from the prefecture two days before, brimming with ideas.

Lu Sixing and Zhou Qiao also went to help out. Madam Liang didn’t want to work, but she didn’t want to go home alone either, so she could only offer to help with the children.

Dahu, however, planned to visit Meng Yunzheng, ”I will go to see Master Wen tomorrow, so I’ll go back now and see Brother Meng, to check what preparations are needed.”

Dabao quickly said, ”I’ll accompany you.” Otherwise, he would have been sent back to private school for lessons.

With everyone having plans, they went their separate ways.
