The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 895: Chapter 895: Miss Ding’s Invitation

Shu Yu walked out from behind him, and upon taking a glance, her eyes revealed uncontainable delight.

This backyard was even larger than she had imagined; no wonder the former county magistrate had always coveted it for himself.

Sanya pointed ahead not far away and shouted, ”Second sister, second sister, look, there’s even a two-story building over there.”

The backyard had artificial hills and pavilions, and even a pond with a little wooden bridge over it and a gazebo in the middle.

If lotus flowers were planted in this pond, it would be incredibly beautiful in the summertime.

The children had already run up to the gazebo, leaning on the benches to look at the pond, and Dahu said, ”Second sister, let’s raise some fish here later on.”

Shu Yu thought it was feasible and was about to nod when she heard him continue, ”That way, we don’t have to go buy fish at the market; I can just dive in and catch a couple.”

Shu Yu, ”...”, I thought you were talking about raising koi for viewing.

She shook her head with a smile and continued walking forward. Ahead was a high platform, which one could reach via stone steps and where there were a few rooms that could serve as a lady’s boudoir.

There was a small bamboo forest on the side, but the bamboo had been chopped down; otherwise, it would have been quite cool in the summer.

Continuing further, there was a two-story loft, built very exquisitely. At the very least, compared to the much dilapidated front courtyard, this loft was completely intact. It seemed the materials used here were of better quality.

Shu Yu descended from the loft and strolled around the spacious backyard.

She couldn’t help but feel emotional; this mansion, said to be of three sections, actually seemed equivalent to five with this backyard included.

Compared to the front courtyard, the backyard was even larger.

Shu Yu was very satisfied with this property, and the Lu family members also expressed their amazement one after another. Who could have imagined that beyond the main gate one would find a surprise, and another surprise lay beyond the Gate of Drooping Flowers?

Everyone was so reluctant to leave after strolling in the backyard, especially Lu Sanzhu, who seemed as if she wanted to plant her roots right there.

The children were running back and forth in the backyard, having a grand time in such a spacious place.

It wasn’t until a familiar exclamation came from outside, ”This backyard is so beautiful,” that the atmosphere shifted.

Turning around, they realized that Daniu and Zhou Qiao had come over.

”How did you get here?”

”Yu, the news of your appointment as the Village Chief has been publicly announced. Today, many people came to the shop, and all the clothes were sold out. There’s no stock left in the shop, and those people kept asking about you, so we had to close the shop early and come out.”

Daniu also felt helpless, ”We went to Liufang Alley and heard from Mrs. Xiang that you were here to see the house, so we came over.”

When they arrived, the main gate was not closed, only ajar.

Daniu had knocked on the gate outside for a long time without anyone answering, so they pushed it open and came in directly.

They had already seen the front courtyard and had been shocked once.

Shu Yu was surprised, ”All the clothes were sold out?”

Daniu nodded, ”There is still a little inventory in the tailoring workshop; should we take those to the shop?”

Shu Yu was silent for a moment, ”Even if we transfer them now, they’ll sell out quickly. People are buying out of the hype of the moment; if they find the clothes unsuitable later, they might become dissatisfied, which could harm the shop’s reputation. It’s better to close for a couple of days until this blows over and then reopen.”

Daniu had the same thought; it would be a good opportunity to go out and scout for a manor to help out during these two days.

After discussing the shop matters, Daniu took out an invitation, ”This is from Miss Ding; she asked me to give it to you.”
