The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 859: Chapter 859: Compensate

The shopkeeper pursed his lips, his expression unpleasant.

Shu Yu laughed: ”If our shopkeeper had received the goods in time this afternoon, the clothes could have been rushed out by the beginning of the 5 p.m. hour, but because of your problem, we were delayed by more than an hour. Now there’s less than fifteen minutes until 5 p.m., and even if you deliver the goods to our door, it’s too late.”

I don’t believe your nonsense; if it was really such a rush, why wouldn’t Lu Daniu just take the batch of fabric he needed and hurry back? What customers? They’re purely fictional.

But if Shu Yu says there are, then there are, and if the shopkeeper really got to the bottom of it, she would surely be able to produce such a person.

Thinking of this, the shopkeeper’s face changed, ”So what you mean is...”

”Because of your reason, it has delayed our garment-making time, and we lost our important customers as well as the reputation of our shop. Shouldn’t you take responsibility for this loss?”

”You...”

Shu Yu narrowed her eyes slightly, ”What about me? It’s you who first breached the contract, and you won’t make any sense anywhere with this issue. Otherwise, shall we report it to the authorities?”

Report to the authorities?

The shopkeeper almost wanted to sneer. With your unclear relationship with Lord Xiang, even if you reported it, he would take your side.

Seeing that Shu Yu was not willing to let things go and there seemed to be customers coming in from outside, the shopkeeper had no choice but to swallow this silent grievance.

”Indeed, it was our oversight, I have a piece of fine fabric here, let’s consider it compensation for your loss, how about that?”

”Bring it over for me to see.”

The shopkeeper could only begrudgingly have someone bring over the fabric, and Shu Yu felt it. Indeed, it was nice.

She nodded, ”Seeing your sincerity, I won’t argue with you over this.” Mainly because the food and drinks in the mule carriage were about to get cold, and if she delayed any longer, the starving family members at home would be starving to death.

”However, I don’t plan to continue cooperating with such an unreliable shop. The contract we both signed can end here.”

The shopkeeper also didn’t want to cooperate with her anymore, ”It is regrettable to dissolve the agreement with boss Lu ahead of time, but since our cooperation is not very harmonious, we can only look forward to a future opportunity.”

No, there won’t be any opportunity.

Shu Yu had Daniu take the fabric, and after discussing the details of dissolving the agreement for another day, she turned and left.

Manager Qiu’s face grew even uglier, and a staffer approached him, whispering, ”Shopkeeper, is that boss Lu? Wasn’t she exiled? How did she come back?”

”Who knows? It’s not any reputable means anyway, we’ll find out in a few days.” Really thinks she can do whatever she wants with Lord Xiang’s backing.

For now, having swallowed the loss, when the boss returns, this grudge must be avenged. Do they really think the biggest cloth shop in Jiangyuan County is a pushover?

Having left the shop, Shu Yu saw that Daya and Zhou Qiao had already loaded the fabrics onto the mule carriage outside, she waved her hand, ”Come on, let’s hurry back, Grandmother and the others must be waiting anxiously.”

Only when the carriage started moving did Daniu let out a long breath, ”Yu, are we really not going to take goods from this cloth shop anymore? Although that Manager Qiu is no good, their fabric is indeed the best in the county town.”

”The best in the county town is nothing special in the prefecture.” Shu Yu held the reins, looking at Daniu who was also sitting on the cart shaft, and smiled, ”Our family now has two mule carriages, and in the future, we might even add more. Traveling to the prefecture to get goods, going to and back only takes two days, which is quite convenient.”
